RE: London - casting call - Paul's "Queenie Eye" video

I disagree a little bit. Local groups ftom NC like Avett Brothers played little clubs in Charlotte (I live in Charlotte) and eventually got discovered and are doing pretty well without big time promotion. I will try and check out that movie, sounds interesting.quote Did you mean Evenly Brothers? I never heard of Avett Brothers. I think you will the movie Looking for Sugarman. I watched it couple times. He was a musician who made a record in motown and it didn't sell because of lack of promotion and I think because the guy was mexican and didn't fit the profile of 60's musician. Someone found it who lived in S Africa where there was censorship so they had a underground music scene there. This album sold more copies there than Beatle, Door, Stone all of them. He was bigger than any of them. Than 40 years later thinking this guy was dead they found out he wasn't he was working as a labor and never saw a dime of money off the record which sold million of albums or knew about his success so they brought him to SA to do concerts. There he sold out arena's and it was as large as any PM concert and just as many screaming fans. Last I read he was touring all over to sold out concerts . Music critics said he words were better the Dylan's and high praise for his music. Again when I got done watching the documentary his songs stuck in my brain and you wanted to find the album and buy it. Isn't that really the point of good music. Not because it being rammed down your throat by media blitz. Also it was music that even 40 years later was good. I know this isn't the point but I think the business of music and ruined music. Anyone today can be a musician. They got auto tune, they got machine that reproduce music sounds. There no real talent in the music today and it shows. The music industry is not doing well. Yes the movie was supposedly awful, did not see it but trust the reviews. Cmon, every good actor alive has made clunkers. You don't think legendary actor Dustin Hoffman regrets being in "Ishtar" for example. Personally, I don't go to a movie just for one actor, I go for the overall movie. IMO - Mr. Depp being in a Pail McCartney video is not really going to take attention away from being in a bad movie. No I don't believe that and that wasn't my main point. I think models are being pushed off magazine covers for actress that are between projects and want money. I think actors are being pushed off Magazine covers for reality TV stars/ Look at all these movie magazines this last month. It all the Kardashians or some other reality TV personality. So getting exposure if you're not in a scandal of some kind, is hard. Look how Johnny D said he retiring from the movies.. that was desperation because his movie bombed. Also where is Dustin Hoffman after that movie bombed. Working a lot cheaper. Unless they got there own money exposed making their next film. "BACK THAN IT WAS THE BEST GOT ON THE COVER TODAY IT WHO PAYS THE BEST...OOPS DID i SAY THAT? Back then, magazines did not have to fight the internet for music news so it was a different time. Now due to magazines and newspapers struggling to get readers, they may feel it is necessary to do this and if it helps their business I don't have a problem with it.
I don't understand your come back? You don't have a problem that they are not putting music people on the cover of music magazines or that they are only putting rehashed rocker from the 60's because none of this generation have music stars big enough to drag in readers. That kind of what my point was. To be on Rolling Stone today is not like it was in the early days when you music got you there. I believe these actor did this for internet exposure and to be attached to Paul's huge publicity machine that he is. He's a icon to a lot of the film people who would love to meet Paul. I am sure their phone rang from people who can hire them asking them what Paul like, Being associated with the Beatles from the early days helped people so its no different now. Again it all hype and I watched the video and couldn't remember the tune so for me it didn't work but for you and other it helped you like the song better so it worked.

I remember that time I heard some really good music from bands and solo artists I'd not heard of and was knocked out by them, and then I never heard from them again--must have been cause of what you said, Tarty, they couldn't afford to get promoted. I hate Miley Cyrus's singing voice, and she was so ubiquitous the past few weeks I found myself almost starting to get brainwashed to want to buy hers. Praise God I came to my senses, LOL Johnny Depp might well feel chagrined over playing Tonto and it bombed. he's still done very well for himself. But they say in Hollywierd you're only as good as your last movie. He might feel embarrassed by talk about him dumping his common law wife for Amber Heard. "They were there looking for poontang" LOL, that was funny, Tarty--they probably were! As well as to get some of Macca's star dust sprinkled on 'em and he wanted to enjoy some of theirs. Why couldn't that vid have featured his website regulars like us as well as the celebs, LOL--would have interested us, and maybe a few more, ghosts who lurk here and grow familiar with the oddballs oops I mean fans who write stuff here. You can be funny, Tarty. Even down to how you spell words.
I kind of like Mile Cyrus because she owes her mistakes and isn't backing down. I think she works hard too. Because she been so bashed in the media I hope her record does well. She made the cover of RS cause she dating Jann Wenner son.

Oh well... next a lot of cheese to sell a ok song.
It's a great song. And anyone with a shred of musical taste gets that. But given that you do nothing but moan, complain, and pass judgment on Paul in your posts, I'm not surprised you don't like it.
Oh Paul's delusional girlfriend speaks.. If any of you didn't know. She Paul real love of his life.. it a secret! We not here to agree with your delusional worshiping. I think Paul professional enough to accept criticize of his work which I left to a few words but thanks to you I express my real feeling about this kind of shameless self promotion.. He had enough success he doesn't have to prove himself but it sounds like he was helping Mary's husband. As far as your comment that I don't get it. Get what? I didn't like the song. Excuse me. I don't have to get anything. What there to get, it's a hype up OK song that I couldn't even remember the tune after watching the video. As far as you go, since your stalking me on this site which is creepy and weird and Martin who usually pretty cool about keeping this childish stuff off the site isn't stopping you. I'll make a point to comment back each and every time you do this even if they keep removed the post like they done. I think you Paul McCartney worshiping is unhealthy and flat goofy. You have dilution of grandeur about Paul McCartney. I get that celebrity worshiping is a sickness and some people like you take it too far. I think you actually think you know Paul. Most true music fans don't need to be told what cool. We know what we each like and when we HEAR it, not because we see beautiful people bobbing their heads looking too sexy for themselves. I listen to music not watch it. This video has a bunch of beautiful people trying to make Paul music look hip and current. Which he doesn't need to do this he a legend who is cashing in big time and really starting to over expose himself. Its ageing models and their replacements all looking like "it girls" of the 60's. Millionaire, brooding, unshaven, rich single actors, looking to meet some pootang ,looking deep and sexy who right now need a diversion from their big time flop movies. ie Lone Ranger, Fair game. Movies that cost more to make than they did. This video shows how Paul can buy the best. Big deal. He'll be on the cover of Rolling Stone cause they don't have enough good musician today to get 12 covers. They got to drag back in all the 60 guys. I am sure Michellie someone like you wouldn't of heard of the documentary "Looking for Sugarman" because it not cool enough for you, though it did win a academy award. Great documentary about a overlooked musical artist who music I "got" just watching the documentary and the music was made 40 years ago. I watched the music in ahh of the unbelievable story, which was just amazing but the music was great and after watching it I couldn't get the tunes out of my mind and understood how this guy out sold the Beatles in South Africa. It all about image and exposure and sadly it hurt the music business. I couldn't even remember the tune after watching this video. Doesn't that seem odd that the video overshadowed the song? It would be interesting to see how much money this record cost Paul to make and promote and what it bring back in profits. He might have more in common with all these actors than.
"This video has a bunch of beautiful people trying to make Paul music look hip and current. Which he doesn't need to do this he a legend who is cashing in big time and really starting to over expose himself. " It also has people like Jeremy Irons I LOVE JEREMY..and Sean Penn who I dont' think anyone would call beautiful - lol. YOU GOT ME HERE. OK, he promotes his new record and he is over exposing himself but if he does not promote it he gets slammed for doing nothing. IMO - it is a fun video, nothing more or less. YOU ARE RIGHT IT THE WAY OF THE MUSIC BUSINESS AND IT TOO BAD. I THINK GOOD MUSIC IS JUST NOT BEING HEARD BECAUSE IT SO EXPENSIVE TO PROMOTE AND ONLY THE RICH CAN GET PROMOTION THEY NEED. THAT WHY I MENTION THAT FILM LOOKING FOR SUGARMAN. WATCH IT IF YOU WANT TO SEE A INTEREST STORY ABOUT SOMEONE BEING FOUND OUT 40 YEARS LATER GOING ON TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE(NOT THE POINT) BECAUSE HE MUSIC WAS THAT GOOD. "Millionaire, brooding, unshaven, rich single actors, looking to meet some pootang ,looking deep and sexy who right now need a diversion from their big time flop movies. ie Lone Ranger, Fair game. Movies that cost more to make than they did." Mr. Depp has had plenty of box office hits,ACTUALLY HE DOESN'T HAVE MANY IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS....BEATLES DID TOO BUT THAT HARDLY PAUL TRACK RECORD TODAY. have you ever seen a "Pirates of The Caribbean" OLD NEWS movies - lol. I think "Edward Scissorhands" did pretty well also. I seem to remember Mr. Depp getting Best Actor Oscar nomination for "Finding Neverland" and that small budget movie made a bunch of money. Also, I am quite sure that Mr. Depp and all the others have plenty of things to do to occupy their time that they do not need be in a Paul McCartney video for diversion. DID YOU SEE LONE RANGER? NO ONE ELSE DID EITHER. LOST 200 MILLION. I THINK MR DEPP IS GLAD TO DIVERT ATTENTION AWAY FROM ALL THE BAD PUBLICLY HIS MOVIES ARE GETING AND HIM. WE STILL LOVE HIM BUTIi DON'T GO SEE HIS MOVIES LIKE I USED TOO. "He'll be on the cover of Rolling Stone cause they don't have enough good musician today to get 12 covers. They got to drag back in all the 60 guys." Really. A rock icon puts out his first new record in 6 yrs which gets pretty darn good reviews and you think it is because they could not find anyone else - wow. BTW- I thought RS supposedly hated McCartney and worshipped Lennon BACK THAN IT WAS THE BEST GOT ON THE COVER TODAY IT WHO PAYS THE BEST...OOPS DID i SAY THAT? - lol. There are plenty of people RS could put on the cover this week like Pearl Jam or Katy Perry ??? SHE WAS ON THE COVER for instance.

I guess I am just too old (6
to be kept sitting around for 9 hours. I'm glad the young-ones think this is ok. They are the ones that camp out overnight to buy call phones and tickets to things too. They will learn that life is too short to waste one's time waiting around. I'm glad she enjoyed it too.
It amazes me that you think they were wasting their time. I bet a few friendships were forged that day, and they got to see Paul (and probably speak to him too).I just hope there were not too many moany people there.
When life gets that short where I am not down for something like this...shoot me. Trapped in Abby Road studio for a day with Paul and friends creating something fun....yeah that was tough duty. Nine hours that fly by. Yeah maybe I am amazed too.

But isn't Paul a Vegetarian and they eat eggs, right?
Sir Paul is a vegetarian, but that doesn't mean HE 'eats eggs'. yes, there are people who call themselves 'vegetarians' who do eat eggs, but those are called 'ovo-vegetarians' (and others who consume eggs and dairy who are called 'ovo-lacto-vegetarians') but the term 'vegetarian' by itself is what it indicates. 'vege', not animal. as for Sir Paul, i doubt he eats eggs, not after doing the 'glasshouses' exposé documentary which shows enough for him to shun eggs.
Heather Mills was a vegan and Paul stated he couldn't be one. Linda's cookbook featured some dairy and veggie meats usually have egg whites in them to hold them together. Not all but many do.
I think I read he loved cheese and that why he wouldn't become a vegan. Heather tried to get him not to eat milk or cheese. Isn't vegan raw veggies only? She really became a starch vegan which Iam betting who responsible for Bea diet. I think she insisted on Paul making sure she was vegan only. Seems like meal time must be a lot of work.

RE: What if Nancy joined the band?

On Nancy joining Paul's band: unlikely. You can't repeat history. Plus she's not a rock 'n' roll animal, is she. More a Republican.
Yeah go figure. Paul plays down that fact.

Does anyone remember when Paul bought a house for H......r (Hove?) and had a RECORDING STUDIO BUILT SO SHE COULD MAKE MUSIC!!!
:
:

for H......r really? If you can't speak or write her name how about just referring to her as Bea's mum. The correct title and I sure Paul built a recording studio for a excuse to visit. Like leaving your toothbrush. But in Paul case leaving your recordings of songs you written. He must of been inspired to write in that spot.
Paul lived in the house as well.
Well there you go. Saved on carbon footprints.
And the story about him building a recording studio for Heather almost certainly isn`t true. And Nancy would never join the band.
LOL I think it was safe to say we know it not true and as for Nancy. I am not seeing her Gucci suits working with the whole rock in roll thing. Now how about David Grohl joining the band? Paul bought Cobain's wife house. Than there that Yoko..ish, whole things going with Love and the band....I mean these guys have a strange parallel world and they seem to blended their music style in a way that give them both equal footing. Paul almost found a rock n roll son in Grohl.

I thought Paul McCartney site was so politically correct and prohibts comments that are a slur of a ethnic groups name. Japs really that OK. I guess if there the bad guys on this site issues the mods look the other way.

RE: "NEW" marketing
Do a 1 hour one time documentary for TV. As far as the album goes content is what going to sell. If its good then it will sell. A documentary or by the other name "reality TV" Is what the public's into today. Paul can agree to allow filmmakers to follow him around but the filmmaker get the creative control of the editing. Purpose of it is to entertain the public and pitch his wares. If these other shows can make millionaires out of nobodies. I am sure they can help secure good sale of Paul work. The public would for sure tune in. I think the public wants to see Paul less staged and more real.
