A very enjoyable show. My favorite show? No. But still memorable. The bad: Vocals on Maybe I'm Amazed. Oof. Really, really rough. The huge gap caused by the platform. It is as bad as everyone feared, and then some. More distracting than the huge gap, were huge camera cranes on both sides of the stage.... constantly flying around and blocking us. (i can only guess the show was being filmed, because nothing from those camera was being projected up on the onstage screens...) The good: Most of the setlist additions for this tour, I found quite pleasing. I didnt play any new samples in advance, so these were fresh to me. I actually liked the new version of LTWTMS. And one of my favorite moments was All Together Now, a song that most people on this site have criticized, but I thought it was a cool moment in the show. And Mr. Kite sounded really great, despite it being played for seemingly no reason. I was surprised he kept Hope Of Deliverance in, for the US. I really expected him to drop it, but I was wrong. I am hoping for maybe a couple of song swaps tomorrow, since he is known to do that for multi-night stands in the same city.
The last Paul concert I went to was in 2005 and when the band came on, they even announced they were all just getting over the flu. Joe Robbie Stadium was HUGE and unfortunately we had nosebleed seats but I felt bad because Paul's voice did not sound good at all. His talking voice was also very hoarse and I've noticed that for a long time now. I thought last night Orlando concert was just SO GOOD in every way. Paul's voice sounded fantastic for any age, he was just so good when he was younger, it's not fair to compare a 20 year olds voice with a 70 year olds voice. He sounded brilliant and I have not one complaint on any of the songs he did, his speaking voice also sounded pretty smooth, my son, who is a teenager and grew up listening to the Beatles said immediately, wow, he sounds great live. Out of the mouths of babes. Anyway, no complaints here, MAGICAL concert!!!! YAY PAUL!
