Mancunian:
I thought I would join in the set list debate, despite the fact that I have only seen Paul live 4 times in my entire life, all since December 2011, although I have been a fan since 1963. I have seen Paul accused of not changing the set list too often. I'm not sure if 3 and a half years between my first and most recent gigs, qualifies for a representative sample for a true set list comparison? However, a quick look shows that from the first time I saw him to the most recent, he has "lost" 17 songs, added 16 "new" ones, and 21 songs make up the "core set list", and there a couple of additonal öne off's", such as "Wonderful Christmastime" No matter what, there's always going to be something on the set list of any band or artist, that someone doesn 't like. They will always play some tracks off their most recent album - they're trying to plug sales, so why wouldn't they? If Paul played all the songs I would like him to, he would probably have to take a lunch break mid set! I am sad that he has lost "All my loving", "Jet", "Day Tripper" and "The night before". I was excited that he added "Eight days a week", "Listen to what the man said", "Queenie Eye", "Another Girl", "Hi hi hi" and "Can't buy me love". I wish he had included "C Moon" and "Coming Up" in the show and not just in the soundcheck. There's also a bunch of songs that I have never heard him play live yet and would love to, such as "Twist and Shout", "She loves you", "Ï wanna hold your hand", "Please please me", "Till there was you". "Tell me why", Ï'm happy just to dance with you", "Money".............etc. I had forgotten how many great songs Wings did, so it was good to hear them again. Slightly öff topic", what really annoys me a lot at gigs, is people constantly nipping in and out of the auditorium during the show! Tickets don't come cheap and to constantly have my view disrupted by selfish people nipping off to the loo or to buy more drinks, is really frustrating! Why pay a fortune for a gig ticket and spend the night going to the bar? You could've stayed at home and listened to a CD or watched a DVD and not disrupted someone elses evening! I also think it's disrespectful to the artist, to nip off during their set. Maybe I am in a minority? But I like to actually see the gig I have bought the ticket for, more so when it's a very expensive one! Rant over I do hope I get to see Paul again in the future
Luckily for both London shows L2T and me had no such issue of people constantly leaving there area, but I did see a bit of it ahead of me and it's appalling selfishness in my opinion! I think if you want to keep drinking F off to the bars and stay there! A friend of mine stood up at Saturday's London show and was berated for doing so, at 25 he wanted to enjoy himself, what's the point going if you can't let go a little! I know it can be tough if you're older at a show and don't want to stand much, but as I said before what's the point being there if you can't have fun?
