RE: It was 20 years ago today… Standing Stone
Thank you for that excellent reminiscence, AcresofFun! I was really into the whole "Standing Stone" album/promotions/appearances, but only as a second-hand observer, so it was great to read your story Also, your ability to articulate your thoughts so well is appreciated!

RE: JOHNNY CARSON ON PAUL'S BUST
DrivinFan:
That's alright, Paul paid Johnny back a little when he was a guest on his show in '84!
Ah, yes...I remember it well

RE: The Paul McCartney Picture Thread
Paul is a great looking man, and Linda was quite attractive. But, these photos show the effects of great lighting/makeup/staging! ALL of us could look like "movie stars" with the right materials being used I've seen it many times.

RE: Bossier City, LA- CenturyLink Center- July 15th- CONFIRMED
Show was terrific! My favorite setlist of recent times. I hadn't been to a show in a couple of years, so got to hear several songs I hadn't before No one brought on stage. Crowd was *very* welcoming, enthusiastic, and participatory. Loved all the new lighting effects, too!

RE: Sgt. Pepper book by Bruce Spizer
Congrats, Nancy! I saw Bruce yesterday at a special screening of "Deconstructing Sergeant Peppper". Bruce gave a one hour presentation before the film - he was very good. Of course, he was promoting his book, too.

RE: Lack of George Guitar Solos
Hmmm...interesting. I've always thought that the "Let It Be" guitar solo is beautifully done and full of heart. To each his own. There's certainly a lack of long solos from George both in the Beatles and as a solo artist. I don't think that John and Paul were into writing songs with long solos, and I guess this affected the development of George's style.

RE: The Original Paul McCartney Picture Thread
Sorry, but there's NO WAY that Linda would have missed this if she had been able to attend! Of course she was too sick. Yes, she attended Stella's show shortly after and she did not look good Also, the fashion show would have been a lot shorter in duration than the investiture. I'm sure Linda (and Paul) were very sad that she had to miss him becoming her beautiful Knight.

RE: Where's Paul been lately?
These photos do gladden the heart, don't they? After the break-up, from so long ago until today, it was always special and emotional seeing photos of any of them together again.

RE: 1980 Wings Tour
Maybe he/she works for the New York Times :

I just finished book "Man On The Run" which was a book about Mr. McCartney from the 70's to very early 80's. In the book Mr. McCartney had doubts about the new Wings lineup live and everyone was worried because they went into Japan under rehearsed.
Can i just ask why you do always refer to Paul as "Mr McCartney", in every post, even more than once in the same post like above? I often wonder... it seems a bit formal.. we're fans of of Paul McCartney. If you love The Beatles do you refer to them in print as Mr Lennon, Mr Harrison, Mr Starr, and Mr McCartney?

Ethel & Ernest is now debuting at BBC1.
They managed to get a Jim Mac reference into the program. How nice!

RE: Where's Paul been lately?
Yeah, but Paul (and lots of other celebrities) love to tell *everyone else* how they can "save the world" from man's ecological evils : I love Paul, but I don't like the hypocrisy. Sorry.
