RE: ~For Sir Paul Maccartney~ Fans write your messages here
Oh my, what a roller coaster ride of a week!!! Sunday, I drove from MD to NYC to take my place in line (#118 of 125) at Paul's book signing. 18 hours of exhaustion, fun, commraderie (a big HELLO to my new friends from Japan, Brazil and Minnesota!) and anxiety (last time I was #143 of 200, but only 140 got in
). THIS time, I actually got to meet Paul
, shake his hand, say a few words and have my book signed, WITH a "Cheers!", by Sir Paul himself! (When I got back to work on Tuesday, and showed my book to my co-workers, most of whom didn't know I was going, the first comment I got, after "WOW!", was "...And you're still alive?!?!"). It only took 41-1/2 years! {IF YOU'RE READING THIS, PAUL, THANK U VERY MUCH!!!!!}. I was SO happy. Then, came the sad news of the sudden death of Mike Gibbins, drummer for Badfinger. Particularly sad for me, as I've known the members of Badfinger for 35 years. In fact, I refused to believe it until it was confirmed to me by Joey on the phone. And, btw, I 've seen "Joey Molland's Badfinger" in every size and style venue possible, and I like the smaller, more intimate shows better than the larger ones where you can't even see them. To watch Joey's precision guitarwork up close and personal is an awesome treat, and I wish people would get off his case and appreciate the music. I'll take "Come And Get It" live by Joey or Paul, anytime either of them cares to play it for me! As for Mike, I'm still in shock. He was only 56, a year older than me. Tomorrow, I'll be at the MCI Center in DC to see Paul's concert - that is if you can see anything from section 421, as far back, up and in the corner as you can get in that venue-but at least I'm in the building. Sure wish I'd received my Passcode. Quite a week of real ups and downs. Peace, Cary.

Someone PLEASE tell me, how does a normal (life-long) fan get a decent ticket? Ours sold out in 8 minutes! Front sections (face-value $253.00) tickets were available through a "ticket broker" the next day for $1,800.00 a piece!!! I was told they had 400 tickets available (how do they get 400, and a fan can't get 2????????). I 've been a member here since March 2004 (when I first got internet access at my part-time job) but didn't receive any notice about a passcode. I'd say the real fans are being left in the dust, and bled dry along the way
