I've been told (that as of now) the combined set of London Town and Back To The Egg will include a defintive 1981 version of Cold Cuts with Paul finally being able to use the Saul Steinberg artwork that he commisioned for it. So these are still coming and will hopefully see the light of day next year. I'm not sure what will happen with the 1986 Cold Cuts versions with Richard Niles and the 1987 versions when more work was done.

RE: Replica Studios
He dismantled the studio not long after he used it for Back To The Egg. It was a one time thing he created just because he couldn't get into Abbey Road when he wanted.

That's right..."Pure McCartney" could have been so much greater with an approach like yours, B.J. And it's true "Give Ireland Back to the Irish" is really rousing, gets the blood going if you've got some Irish in you especially--it's sung with so much spirit and power that I wondered why Macca had his farm in Scotland instead of Ireland. Was he avoiding the I.R.A. terrorism.
You probably have "Cold Cuts," BJ ? Even that could have included so much more. When I first heard a bunch of the B sides, rareties and never recorded on albums stuff, it was such a revelation, like the heavens opening; all that previously undiscovered Macca music which features quite a few gems and could-be famous classics like a vast musical treasure chest to be plundered endlessly and enjoyed. It proved a respite of sorts from all the much heard hits...not that "respite" is the right word; but there was so much that's "new" even while being old.
Yes, I've heard Cold Cuts but think about what Paul has in his faults. The quality of the recordings would probably be much better. Each decade Paul has an abundance of material for a 2 CD set. He initially could do a Volume 1, 5 CD Set (one for each decade starting with the 70's) . Then he could follow up a year later with a Volume 2 (again one CD for each decade).
Just looking at the 90's decade and the Off the Ground sessions, Paul actually came out with a 2 CD of songs (for Japan I believe) that didn't make the proper OTG album cut. Many of these songs are as good or better than the original Off the Ground tracks. Those songs are "finished" songs and would be prime candidates for a "Lost and Forgotten" 90's Compilation Disc. Anyway, hope Paul comes out with a Compilation Package like this for the "real" fans like us.
Check out the link in my sig below. Paul has over 300 unreleased songs, rude jams, demos, etc... it would be a massive project to get these out but I hope he does or someone does after he's gone. The world needs more McCartney music.

RE: PAUL in GQ MAGAZINE
Cool to read Paul is open to microdosing in the future. We could get a really wild McCartney III out of that.
The sex stuff shouldn't be shocking. He was world famous and the ladies were throwing themselves at him so why not as long as he was hurting anyone. At least he never did what John did to Yoko in '72 and cheat on Linda with her in the next room overhearing it all.
The frog story has been around for years also. What was he 10-12 years old? He's always felt guitly about it. Check out the Rupert and Tuesday films.
If I had a dollar for everytime Paul said the F word it would pay for his concert tickets twicefold.
I want to hear more about their transvestite story that has been rumoured about for so long.

These apparently are the twenty-four songs and instrumentals recorded for the 'Egypt Station' project. Sixteen are for the standard album, eighteen for the deluxe edition.
Opening Station / I Don't Know / Come On To Me / Happy With You / Fuh You / Who Cares / Windy Hill / Confidente / Quarters / Waking Up Slow / Back In Brazil / Hand In Hand / Dominoes (Light That Way) / Despite Repeated Warnings / People Want Peace / Closing Station / Do It Now / Hunt You Down / The Church We Never Went / Caesar Rock / Night Party / Old Bridges / Naked / C-Link.
Its now been been revealed that Get Started / Nothing For Free are the two bonus tracks on the Deluxe album, which now brings the total to 26 new recordings for the ES project.
The bolded songs above are more than likely made up titles or not connected to Egypt Station. It was reported at the recent listening parties that only 22 songs were recorded so that would give us:
01. Come On To Me
02. I Don't Know
03. Station I
04. Station II
05. Happy With You
06. People Want Peace
07. Despite Repeated Warnings
08. Fuh You
09. Back In Brazil [3-4 alternate versions exists]
10. Confidante
11. Hunt You Down
12. Who Cares
13. Hand In Hand
14. Do It Now
15. Dominoes
16. Naked
17. C-Link
18. Caesar Rock
19. Get Started
20. Nothing For FreePlus 2 other Tedder tracks if #19 & #20 aren't those.

JoeySmith:
Paul promised us all the McCartney/Costello collaborations. This set is very disappointing. Their 'Veronica' demo is not even here.
There was no demo for "Veronica" with just Elvis and Paul. Elvis had it complete except for the middle 8 that Paul added. His demo of it was released on the reissue of Spike. There's also no demo of "Back On My Feet" with the two of them. We are getting all the demos that Paul and Elvis recorded back in late 1987.

RE: Only One- new song by Kanye West, featuring Paul
Can't believe Paul is using his wonderful unreleased melody from Ram for this. At least now maybe we'll get "When The Wind is Blowing" released in its original form at some point.

RE: Paul's New Album-- "New"-- CONFIRMED
webvan:
No "Women Kind" from MACCA I, they just reused a lo-fi circulating demo http://wogew.blogspot.fr/2011/04/mccartney-mccartney-ii-its-official.html
To be fair though, that demo cassette was stolen from Paul in the 70's so that's the only version MPL has as well.

RE: Hey Diddle....again
They added the fiddles to the basic Ram recording in Nashville '74. I'm thrilled to get this in better quality. We'll probably see the vocal version of "Sunshine Sometime" on the BTTE set. Maybe we'll get the '86 Richard Niles orchestrated version of "Hey Diddle" on a future set as well.

RE: Politics of Love - McCartney/Peter Gabriel collaboration
The live version performed solely by Peter is "out there" in well guarded trading circles.

RE: Wings Over America & Rock Show DVD Reissue CONFIRMED
I'm pre-ordering through Paul's site to get the Vintage Wings '76 t-shirt with the WOA poster lithograph. This should show up in the coming weeks.

RE: The "Ram" Remaster Thread
JoeySmith:
Wow. The deluxe package sounds amazing. Its the only way to go. I'd buy the UBER-Deluxe if Macca would throw in some early Ram demos & all Ram songs live from the 1972 Tour
He is, the only two songs he performed from the '72 tour will be offered as exclusive downloads from the website.

RE: Wings songs that Wings did not release
BertoneBeatle:
I forget the name of the author (Gerry McGee??)...but he has a book called "Band On The Run" and it's pretty much the bible when it comes to Wings. Has info on all those unreleased songs and more.
That book didn't sit well with me. Here's my issues with it from my Amazon review: As the back cover states that Mr. McGee is an 'authority on Wings", I'm here to tell you he is not. Errors are found on just about every other page ranging from: Wrong dates given as to when sessions took place (Ram, RRS, McGear, etc...) Songs being released when they haven't (Robber's Ball) Songs being listed as recorded from one time frame when they were either recorded years earlier or later (When The Wind Is Blowing, Seaside Woman) McCullough and Seiwell recording with Denny Laine in 1980 (sorry, didn't happen) The interview as being described 'real' from 1976 where the reporter was asleep was actually from Australia 1975 and the reporter is a local hero called Norman Gunston who 'pulls pranks' on celebs even though the Mac's were aware of it. So in other words, that whole interview was staged. I think the biggest crime of this book was to re-tell stories from one JoJo Laine (the 1975 housekeeper Rose story, Jimmy contemplating murdering the Macs, etc...) that she initially told to Geoffrey Giuliano. Come on, everyone knows JoJo can be trusted about as far as you can throw her and those stories are the work of Geoffrey and JoJo wanting to dump crap on the McCartney's legacy. About the only thing this book is usefull for are the quotes from Paul, Linda & Wings collected from various magazines over the past 30 + years. Nothing new isn't reported that hasn't already been told in previous books on Macca. He even missed a golden oppurtunity while speaking with Henry McCullough in 2002 about asking him to comment on the original Band On The Run rehearsal tapes from the Summer of '73 that Henry has kept all these years. He's the only one with copies and it would've shed light on how far the album was truly developed at that point and which guitar riff was it that got him so heated with Macca that he up and quit.

I asked this on another thread but nobody knew the answer. Did Paul recently record the vocals or was that done in 1986 when it was meant for Cold Cuts?
No-one seems to know that. I think his voice sounds youngish, so he probably dubbed the vocals at some time in the 80s at one of the many Cold Cuts sessions. Maybe they're from '86.
The notes in the deluxe issue indicate that the original recording was in 1979, with overdubs recorded September/October 1986 as part as the Cold Cuts project. I assume that the overdubs in 1986 included the vocals, and agree that the sound of his voice sounds very mid-1980s.
The vocals were most likely done in '86 and definitely not recent. Someone should ask Fiachra Trench. He'd know for sure and has commented on Paul was doing vocal overdubs during the Sept./Oct. '86 Cold Cuts sessions while they were working on the 14 tracks.

Forget my previous idea of what the "London Town" reissue in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection should include I decided it should have a bonus disc and a DVD, I apologize if this looks lackluster, but who knows what could be added in.
In one word..."One Woman" should be released. It's said to be a great lost Wings track. A bunch of others would be cool to have like "El Toro Passing", "Twelve of The Clock". etc...

RE: Paul McCartney Archive Collection
Entwistle905:
My idea of what the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection" Deluxe Edition of "Wild Life" should include: Disc 1: The Original Album: 1. Mumbo 2. Bip Bop 3. Love Is Strange 4. Wild Life 5. Some People Never Know 6. I Am Your Singer --Bip Bop Link-- [?] 7. Tomorrow 8. Dear Friend --Mumbo Link-- [?]* Disc 2: Singles, Live Performances, and Etc.: 1. Give Ireland Back to the Irish 2. Give Ireland Back to the Irish (Instrumental) 3. Mary Had a Little Lamb 4. Some People Never Know (Demo) 5. Wild Life (Rehearsal) 6. Mary Had a Little Lamb (Long "4:36" Time Version) [It EXISTS!] 7. I Am Your Singer (Live, 21 August 1972, at Congresgebouw, The Hague, Netherlands) 8. Wild Life (Live, 21 August 1972, at Congresgebouw, The Hague, Netherlands) [There a better live version recorded of this song that should put instead?] I have to ask though should Hear Music add in the "Bip Bop/Mumbo" instrumental links into the original album? Or include them in the Bonus Discs, to maintain the original flow of the original 1971 LP by itself?!?!? 'Cause I'm afraid if that's done it'll cause other tracks to release in the bonus disc to be pushed off seeing the limited track listings of bonus discs for McCartney I & II + BOTR. I found out there was a demo version of "Mumbo" that's out there, but I didn't include it because it sounded TOO narrow, so sorry.
There's no demo for "Mumbo" but there are alternate mixes for that one and "Some People Never Know". There's also the Cavendish home recording of "Some People Never Know" from the McCartney sessions that would be interesting to hear along with the alternate orchestra mix of "Dear Friend". The "Bip Bop/Mumbo" links were always on the original album according to MPL. And if you're adding in "Mary Had A Little Lamb" which was recorded after Wild Life was released you might as well add the outtake "The Great Cock and Seagull Race".

Entwistle905:
I know others have been talking about the ideas of what the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection" edition of "Ram" should include, but here is my idea with some help and better ideas used: Sorry if I left anything better of bonus material to add in, ask if you want me to add something to this or do whatever you all want to do, please.
I'd like to know what's on the Ram cassette tape of 30 demos discovered last year. Release some of those along with the complete "Ram On" and first takes of "Long Haired Lady" and "Love Is Long" when they existed as two songs.

2. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae (As "Paul McCartney")+ 7. Must Do Something About It (Paul McCartney Vocal Version)# + I know that there is a debate on whether it should be on "V&M" or "WATSOS" but it should be on the "WATSOS" because it MIGHT have been recorded in 1976 and seeing how it has a X-mas theme it must have come from LATE December 1975 which could associate itself (by school years) with an early 1976 released album which is "WATSOS" and there is MORE material to add to the bonus disc(s) of "V&M". #IT EXISTS! No joke, it's not a rumor, a roadie I believe from what I've heard passed away and I believe his material on tape had been auctioned off and then leaked on the web around c. 2008~2010 and this version of the song is intact and should be included and I heard it's longer than the Joe English vocal version of the album, so what the Hell!? If anyone wants to picket at my suggestion, feel free to do so!
Paul's version of "Must Do Something About It" has been available for a year now. It's no longer than the version on Speed of Sound but it does have a different drum and guitar track. Rudolph dates from late '74 to early '75 when Paul was doing the music for the Geoff Britton Empty Hand project. Hopefully WATSOS would include the reggae version of "Silly Love Songs" and maybe one or two more outtakes and save the rest for the box.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCartney_II If You Go down a but its got the setlist if the reissues
It's just copying the post made by the person who leaked this info. Nothing is official as of now. Remember he said that tracklisting was how it stood as of this past February. Things will probably change before the release but I do hope most of what's listed there (if not all of it) will be on the final version.
It's possible that it could change maybe put ruldoph red nose reggae. But I noticed no Goodnight Tonight which is good it will be on Back To The Egg. Anyway looking forward to it. I'm interested in what the McCartney album one will be like
Rudolph should be on the Venus and Mars remaster as it was recorded in 1975 and Goodnight Tonight was recorded at the end of London Town and before BTTE so it will remain to be seen where that song will turn up. You'll notice "Lunch Box/Odd Sox" is missing as well even though it was the b-side to the live version of "Coming Up". Lunch Box was recorded in 1975 during Venus and Mars so it should be on that remaster but if you recall "Country Dreamer" was released with the BOTR remaster (since it was a b-side) even though it was a Red Rose Speedway song so who knows how the songs with different recording and release dates will turn up.
