RE: Idea for UK Small Shows
BOYCIE:
Eeee Cor Blimey:
it's a nice idea, one that i think most of us have dreamt of over the years... but i think he's never going to do it.. and it's just not do-able nowadays -the short lived premium membership came and went without a UK show (apart from the rah charity one) and after that it was scrapped and back to the free for all of *anyone* registered with pm.com getting presale access, and you could register even after the tour announcement. Having seen 3rd row centre liverpool tickets on a resale site for £1795.00 each - yes that's almost £2000.00 for one ticket - tickets that will have been bought on the pm.com presale or from the venues presale (that was also advertised as people on their mailing list - but they gave away the link and code on their twitter for the world to use instead)... well having seen that legally being done, i give up, i feel like it's over, touts have won, pm.com and sites don't seem to mind after all do they? So how a small gig would be workable is impossible Yes we can all say have photo ID, do it like Kate Bush, etc etc, but it seems pm.com or bascially anyone inc the venues doesn't really care who gets them, as long as someone buys them. (Yes, i'm a bit negative after the last 2 days of presales, sorry!)
I couldn't agree more with your statement! The last two mornings trying to buy good seats has been very frustrating and we all know where the A Block seats have gone, yes to the vile creatures called scalpers, b**tard indeed! Love2travel and i both have been on trying to get the best seats to no avail! Also seeing £140.00 tickets at the back is truly appalling as well.
I actually feel sick with myself after paying £140 for crappy tiered seating near the back. I wish I hadn't done it now. Much as I love him, i'm disgusted at having just paid this!! Can't even be excitecd that I will be seeing him!

There are still tickets here - but only the £125 ones, the seats aren't great, but I just bought 2 http://www.axs.com/events/273144/paul-mccartney-tickets

RE: WHY are you a veggie?
How can you say that most veggies have "very very poor diets"!! On the basis that you know 3 veggies who have a poor diet. I've been veggie for 24 years now, and it was hard at first - I lived on macaroni and chips I think! Now there is so much choice out there, it's easy to have a balanced diet, you can make the same food as you would if you were a meat eater, and use meat substitues like tofu or quorn. It's not difficult.

That's a really great story! You ended up upgrading to Row A then Nice!
It was awesome. It started funny really. I was sitting there all by myself in AA6. Then my friend Lorna (AA7) texted me where I was seated. I told her where I was and told her to come over. There were a lot of empty seats around me so I suggested to hang out together till the gig started. When the Texas chick ended we stood up and were just standing there. With bad-ass security keeping an eye on us and the several other fans that were watching. I already overheard one security saying that people were not allowed, not under any circumstances, to stand up. That's when Shelley walked by And as soon as we heard we were allowed to stand, we texted Christine to come over as well (you were in AA6 as well, weren't you?) and so we all had one of the bests spots of the evening. This is so NEVER going to happen again. I love Paul but I'm not patient enough to go stand in a line at 1 pm in the afternoon already while the show starts at 8 pm just to be able to stand in the front. Then I rather stand a little further back. We were really lucky that night!
I know, couldn't believe it when you told us we weren't allowed to stand, wasn't happy at all! Remember we were talking about a load of us storming the front of the stage anyway!?Haha. So glad you had a word with Shelly. Thanks to you it all turned out good in the end

If any of you have a spare moment, start reading this threat from the beginning. It's fun to read about the rumors first, then the gig was confirmed, then everybody was nervous for presales to start, then people were happy (or not) when they got their tix, etc. And now it's all over...
I know, it's really funny. It was me who posted first as someone had posted on their facebook about him coming to Glasgow, but I couldnt find out anything on the internet about it. Was so stressed for ages until it was officially announced. THEN stressed because of the carry on with the fan club presale and not getting any tickets. THEN was stressed about the 2nd presale from Ticketsoup. THEN was stressed cos the tickets took so long to come, and only getting one week before. THEN was stressed as was bursting for the loo minutes before Macca came on and worried incase I didnt get back to my front standing position! All in all, a stressfull time! But was the best night ever, and the excitment and build up of looking forward to it was great, meeting a lot of lovely new people. And now it's over!! I hope we all get the chance to see him again!!

I've been searching youtube for video of hey tube so i can see my cushion! There's nothing very clear been posted yet. I wish it was this time last week so we still had the gig to look forward to! I'm still on a high and wish i could see him again! I hope he realised how much he's missed the scottish crowd and comes back to us soon!
I was in Block AA7 Row K and caught the end of Hey Jude on my camera. Just uploaded it to YouTube. Is this the cushion you were looking for?!
Hehe, that's the one! It brings a huge smile to my face. I couldn't believe it when the guy zoomed in on it and it stayed there! I'm easily pleased! I had a great weekend, and once again, was great to meet you guys from the forum. Thanks for helping make one of the best weekends ever. I wouldn't have been the same if i hadn't met you X

Thanks very much Christine for this video. What a wonderfull souvenir. Thanks also to have organised the meeting on Saturday night. Thanks to all the people I met during this week-end. And thanks to all the Scottish to be so kind and so nice and to sing incredibly well. French fans are waiting for my comments on a French website but as soon as I can I will read all the pages of this thread I have missed since I left home and will come back here to share my comments with you.
Yeah, what a nice weekend!! Thanks to the wonderful people that I met. Still in Glasgow, looking forward to next Sunday in London.
Was great to meet you both, and everyone else on the sat, was a great weekend. Hope it can happen again!

Hmm, think you need to have a facebook account to see these, don't know how else to get the photos on here, any ideas?
If you copy and paste the link, and not just click on it, you should be able to see them, if anyone is interested. Christine

RE: Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE
Last night was one of the best nights of my life. He was amazing, and can't believe we got to stand right up at the barrier (thanks Jolanda for letting us know it was ok for us to stand!) I see the put a couple of chairs behind me so no one else could come up to the barrier, so think was only the first couple of rows who were standing. He was in great form, I was a bit worried when I seen the footage of the Isle of Wight gig, his voice wasn't the best on some of the songs, but last night, everything was perfect from start to finish. From the first song the whole crowd were on their feet. One of the highlights for me was getting my red loveheart Paul McCartney cushion on the big screen behind the band a few times, and at the end of Hey Jude it appeared as a big close up for what it seemed like for ages. What a night, my back was breaking, feet and legs were killing me, but it was all worth it, and i'd do it again tonight. I said I wasn't going to take many photos, but I got a bit snap happy, I will post them on facebook. Thanks Paul for the best night ever, and please come back to Scotland soon!!

i was hoping he'd play "i want to come home" but going by the dublin setlist i dont think he will
I've just came from the soundcheck, he played this. They left gates open at hampden and we could see right onto the stage. He is sounding great.

was thinking about going, just not in a very nice area, and dont know about pricing or time etc? it says on the flyer that its a fiver entry and doors open at 8, but does that cover seeing the band, and what time will the band be on at lol
What do you mean, not a very nice area? Cos it's near the barras etc? I wouldn't worry, it's fine, i've walked around that area before alone looking for a taxi and waiting on buses late at night, and it's not a problem. £5 gets you in the club and covers seeing the bands. I saw a band there before and i think they started about 9.3o, but there is a support band tonight as well, not sure what time they will be on. You should come along, and there is a space at the table if you wanted to come for dinner before it.

is revolver any good ?
Aye, they're really good. Not the type of band that wears wigs etc. Saw a few of their shows during beatle week last year, in one set, they played the whole of the revolver album. Really good. You going?

For the people who just started posting in here, we're gonna meet up with a group of people at Maggie May's on Sat evening. Drinks first, then dinner, then the Revolver gig (they will be giving away 2 free tix for the Macca gig during the Revolver performance btw). Join the fun!
Just to say there is no more spaces for dinner (at 5.45), but would be great to see people before it or at the Revolver gig!
Did you count me in for dinner? I´m in the liste for REVOVER gig. Any way, I´d like to come for dinner.
Hi, yes I counted you for dinner, looking forward to it. Have a safe journey

I'm planning on going about an hour before to have a drink. I plan to wear a burgandy top with a sparkly owl on it.
O.k. So I'll be there between 4.45 and 5 pm as well
Great i'll look out for you then! My sister might be coming too. She is coming home from san francisco today and she might be knackered by sat. When we come back from vegas last year. We had terrible jet lag for days. I couldn't sleep at night and was sleeping til 4 in the aft. Hope she will be ok tho!

Yes its gonna be great! you will love Liverpool alley beatle(if you havent been before???)How will we all recognise each other lol??? Your eating first with a big group arent you milcon?
We're gonna have dinner at Maggie May's with group of 10, am I right Christine? Afterwards drinks, which should be around 7 or something. Everybody, come on over. If you can't have dinner at our table you might sit close to us. I'll be wearing my Eat No Meat tee I think if you see/hear a loud group of people, that's us Perhaps we should make a sign
Well there should be 11 of us if everyone who said they are coming turns up, there is one spare seat at the table if anyone wants to come last minute. Table booked at 5.45 under my name. The restaurant is separate from the bar part, so we can move through to the bar to join anyone not eating. I'm planning on going about an hour before to have a drink. I plan to wear a burgandy top with a sparkly owl on it. There will prob be a lot of groups of people with the football being on, but most of will prob be wearing something beatles related . I'm so bloomin excited!
