Actually, what deceives me in a way about Paul is how scripted and controlled his shows always are. The same anecdotes, songs (with a few changes from show to show). I know what he is going to say before he says it! Dear Paul... At the same time, he has to play these songs because this is what people expect. But improvisation is obviously not Paul's strong suit... What I don't get also is why one of the only song he does on special demand is Ram On. What is it about that song? All the same I love Paul as a human being and artist . And he damn rock it. What a spirited, upbeat ans strong person. But let's say the shows get predictable..

As for me, Paulapalooza was a delight... For girls only. How could girls resist him back then? No wonder he got them all. It's the most adorable guy I ever saw. He was so young on these videos... younger than I am now. Quite funny to think about it.

Well I didn't find a young Jim Mc Cartney picture but I found a young Mary Mc Cartney picture (Paul's mom)! It is from a Mike McCartney album cover. Well then both Paul and Faul happen to be musical geniuses. Their music also happen to sound quite the same (melodically speaking), ther styles are similar if not identical. Ah, and their mimics are exactly the same. I don't think anyone could make believe so perfectly during 40 years. Facial expressions and mimics are pretty personal and hard to emulate perfectly. Not to talk about the music...

Does anybody have a picture of Jim McCartney (Paul's father) as a young man? I can't fid it on the Net but I kinda remember having seen one in a book. I'd like to see it because I think I remember Paul has inherited his eyes! Those eyes are a miracle of nature as far as I'm concerned

Captain Fantastic and MAcca Beat I agree. My boyfriend always says Paul is my "sweetheart". I can watch him repeatedly and never tire of it. His charm is unique and very peculiar. Nobody else ever had that effect on me. There is something truly sweet and endearing about him. It can be felt at a very deep level and is apparent in his songs. He's kept something very childish and boyish but in a healthy way (not like "I'm a man child living in Neverland"). He was gorgeous in the sixties but then even as he aged or tried on styles that did not always fit him (the mullet for instance) his charm kept him looking pretty.
