Oh Darling as a duet with Chrissie Hynde.

This is the type of thing that ticks me off with Paul. All these years we would have loved him to do this song and only now does he perform it due to Chrissie's request.  Obviously at 80, Paul can't do justice to this song and it was good idea for Chrissie to do most of the singing. That being said, he could have done this 25-30 years ago but never thought of it.

I thought the same thing. Maybe it's the perfectionist in him? 30 years ago he probably thought he couldn't do it justice and then 10 more years passed and then another 10. There's a life lesson in there somewhere.

Yeah, you guys are right. I was so excited about the rumor and I didn't notice that nothing make sense it all.

By the way, there are some rumors of shows in Latin America between February and April. We expect to hear more information in the next weeks.

Are there any more details of these rumors? I've been wanting to see Paul in Brazil. Do you remember in the past how soon before a SA show he would announce? I'm running against the clock on some flight credits that expire soon, and would love to use for a trip to see Paul in SA.

    • RE: Cheese & Grain, Frome - June 24, 2022

Add me to the list of fans frustrated with the same ol' setlist. From Me to You has been done in soundchecks recently - so wasn't that much of a stretch to drop it in. He could have mixed in some other soundcheck songs very easily and made it at least a tad different from the regular concert setlist. One could even say he could give the "cheap seats" folks a taste of the setlist he reserves only for the people with the expensive soundcheck packages.

I'm really bummed we haven't heard McCartney III songs live, other than the short lived inclusion of Women and Wives. It's not like we're asking him to do a vocally challenging song from when he was in his 30s. He JUST recorded these songs 2 years ago. Sigh.

Also, You Never Give Me Your Money is not new! As he's been saying. He did it in 2002. Granted it was a different arrangement on piano not followed by She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, and mashed up with Carry That Weight. I distinctly remember him poking fun at not knowing the words and "I don't think I'm even going to bother to try and learn them before the end of the tour", so I guess he finally learned them. lol

    • RE: The Rarest Paul Song You Seen/Heard Him Perform Live

      For me it's been:

      - Mull of Kintyre x3. I wasn't able to travel internationally and everytime he did it abroad and not in the US, I was gutted. Finally got to see it in Toronto and went again to Vancouver for it.

      - Tequila! in Nashville 2010. I know he did it at a Hard Rock Calling in London. Not sure of another live, non-soundcheck, performance. When the rift started I could have sworn it was Brown Eyed Handsome Man.

      - Ram On in London 2015. He obliged a couple of us in the audience. I've since tried to get him to do it without success. In the second Boston show this year I made a sign and we had a little visual back and forth, but ultimately he passed. Thankfully I'd hear it earlier that day in soundcheck from outside the venue.

      - Hope of Deliverance 2012 - rare in that he hasn't done it much in the post 2000 touring era and when he has it outside of soundcheck, it's only been in Latin America - with the exception of a sole Florida show.

    • RE: Cheese & Grain, Frome - June 24, 2022

There's an unconfirmed setlist posted on Setlist.fm. I'm not expecting much of a surprise setlist, like Eeee Cor Blimey said. I was very much expecting Women and Wives, since he's been doing it at soundcheck and maybe C Moon in the mix. If the setlist I mention is to be believed - it's simply a shorter version of what he's been doing during the Got Back Tour.

Apparently they were meant to take people's cell phones away. Will be interesting to see if any footage comes out before MPL releases. Last time it was Liv Tyler with Stella that shared some video from Abbey Road, if I recall correctly.

    • RE: Paul Mccartney 2022 - rumours

Thanks for all the reports. Even if the specifics don't pan out, it sounds like we'll be getting some shows this year and that's amazing!

Ringo is also playing at the casino place in June. That's more of his type of venue. Looks like Elton's shows are seated with some $500-800 silver package seats in the front and the now common verified re-sale for thousands in the lower front section.

As much as I like a smaller indoor venue because the sound at stadiums can be pretty bad. There's just some fun energy that comes from a larger show. That said - as soon as he says the word I'm off to get tickets, flights etc. Where in the world are we going this time Macca fans?

    • Recommendation - Joshua Lee Turner

      Hi folks -

Somehow I ran into Joshua Lee Turner's YouTube channel doing some masterful covers - guitar and voice - including some of the Beatles and McCartney but also other greats like Dylan, Cash, Simon...

He's also a very talented songwriter and I've been playing his 2020 album "Public Life" non-stop the last couple months.

Highly recommend if you like beautiful guitar work, rock-pop melodies, and thoughtful lyrics.

If you check him out, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

    • Emitt Rhodes

A couple of years ago, a friend asked if I'd ever listened to Emitt Rhodes. He was referred to as the "one man Beatle" and gained some noteriety for his similarity to Paul McCartney's style. I highly recommend checking him out. Some of his music is on streaming services and his first album is available in full on YouTube.

If anyone listens, I'd love to hear what you thought of his music and if you found any song or section particularly interesting.

    • RE: Paul McCartney 2021 - Rumours

I agree with you Renan - hopefully we get some news for 2022 - too late for 2021. There's a band performing at the Primavera Festival next year that I'd like to see, so I could combine with Paul in Barcelona if he keeps the same dates just shifting the years.
