    • RE: NYC, NY - Madison Square Garden - 9/15 and 9/17 - CONFIRMED

I have seen over 25 shows, and this one was fantastic! The crowd was one of the best I have seen. I was in 116 on the side of the stage and we were standing the entire night. He seemed like he was having a blast and he was very appreciative of the crowd response. He was more chatty than he has been in the past, expounding on his stories. The acoustic set was amazing and You Won't See Me was a real highlight. I loved the story behind I Want to Be Your Man and the song (which I had never heard played live) rocked the house. A Day In the Life brought the house down and when Bruce and Little Steven appeared it was just the icing on the cake. The Garden emptied at approximately 11:40 and the place was buzzing. Every conversation we overheard was what an amazing night it was. Even after seeing so many shows since 1991, he still delivers and there is no place in the world that I would rather be than at a McCartney concert!

    • RE: Pre-sale thread Newark/Madison Square Garden/Brooklyn/Nassau

There is always a thread on this site for the purchase of tickets at face value from people who purchased tickets and can't go. Always. Just keep checking, especially as the show gets closer. Also, the secondary market for Paul always seems to get softer (at least in NY) as the show gets closer. I think if you are patient you will be rewarded.

I love Bob's clues. They are the first thing I look for when I come on this site during these pre-touring months. Piques my interest! Not looking to get into a squabble - Just want to let the man know he is much appreciated.

    • RE: Boston, MA - Fenway Park - July 17th - ARCHIVE

I have been thinking a lot about the posts I have read in this forum about the current tour over the last few days. I was lucky enough to see Paul at Fenway on Sunday. third row, dead center. My first soundcheck. I went with my wife and two kids, who also have seen him in Phili, St. Louis, Brooklyn, and Albany. I have seen every tour since 1990. I got myself so wound up reading about the decline in his voice on all the forum posts, I half didn't know what to expect. All I can say is that it was one of the most glorious nights of my life. EVERY time is see him, especially with my kids, it is a life highlight. Did his voice suffer a bit during Maybe I'm Amazed - OK, yes, a little. But who the hell cares?? It's freaking Paul McCartney. Here There and Everywhere - Amazing!! You Won't See Me ... What a treat!! Letting Go and Temporary Secretary ... you couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Flaming Pie during soundcheck --- awesome. The warmth and happiness in the crowd ... can't get that by sitting on your couch reminiscing about how his voice sounded in 1990, or 2006, or 2010, or whenever. Even the songs I have heard every concert where great --- BECAUSE I AM SEEING PAUL MCCARTNEY! OK - he's 74 and his voice isn't what it once was. To me (now that I saw him) it is all silliness. What else could I possibly have done on Sunday night that would have created such a wonderful memory? Nothing! All my forum post reading and worrying was energy wasted and time lost that I will never get back. What a night!

    • RE: Sound Check

I have a soundcheck at Fenway for my family of 4, including two kids. Is there a good place to stand in line when they line you up in order to be in the front? If you are among the first in line, do you get to stop where you want, or do they lead you to where they want you to stand? Where is the right place to be in line if you want a good location?

    • RE: Boston Pre-Sale Thread

You should call Fenway Park and ask to speak with security to inquire about bringing in a small step stool. I brought two folding step stools in to the Jones Beach Theater in NY for my kids when they were younger with no problem. It made a huge difference for them. Met Life would not let me bring them in when I went to see Springsteen due to security concerns. They have a policy as a Stadium not to allow any objects that can be thrown and injure someone. When I brought my kids to St. Louis to see Paul a few years ago, I had several discussions with the head of security at Scottrade Center and, while he was very nice, he would not let them in. See if you can make any headway at Fenway. It would be great to be able to name the head of security to anyone who asks and state that you spoke with him and he approved. In any event, if I were you, I would bring one and try to get it in. Worst case scenario is that you leave it outside by the curb.

Is there a GA at Fenway? I just checked Stub Hub to get a seating chart for the show and they show a "GA Turf Pit". That doesn't seem to exist for other ball-park shows. If there is a Pit, are tickets for the Pit sold as VIP tix? People who buy "Front Row" packages for 2K are sitting behind a Pit?

Bob - I live 45 from NYC. I am debating whether to buy Fenway tickets Hot Sound Package or wait to see if he plays as smaller venue in NYC like the Garden or Barclays, where my hot sound money might be better spent. Any news on whether Paul will be playing NYC at the end of August? Thanks.

    • RE: VIP Package Questions

I want to buy tickets for Fenway and I am debating between 1st row and hot sound packages. I have two kids so, for purposes of their sight view, I would prefer front row. At the ball-park shows, there appears to be seven front floor sections (I will refer to them as section 1-7). Does anyone know if the "side seats" at the ball parks for the 1st Row Package are the sections immediately to the left and right of center (sections 3 and 5). Or are they sections 1 and 2, 6 and 7? Thanks.

    • RE: Paul with little ones - advice please?

I have taken my two kids to 4 Paul McCartney shows. The first was in Philadelphia in 2010 when my son was 6 and my daughter 8 1/2. The fourth in Albany a year ago July 4th, with St. Louis and Brooklyn in between. I consider them among the best family days we've ever had, as do my children. For the first show, I knew the setlist and played the songs for them that they wouldn't know. He opened that show with Venus and Mars/Rockshow. They LOVED it!. I took photos of the show, including them singing and photos of Paul and made a photo book from Snapfish of the experience. In the back I put a tiny plastic bag to hold the confetti that they ran around trying to catch at the end of the show. Good for you for taking your daughter. Worst case, she doesn't remember it all. Best case, your talking about it 40 years from now. Upside wins!

    • Paul' Health - next set of shows

Have tickets to see him in Albany, but can't find any current information regarding his health. Does anyone know if the band is practicing? Are there any rumours regarding the possibility that the next set of shows might be canceled?

Side view for McCartney is never impaired. Had them many times. They are perfect seats. If you are on the right of the stage, he will be playing piano directly in front of you. If on the left, it is a perfect view. He is constantly turning to his right when he is playing.

Was looking for 4 seats for family. Must have hit "Find" 200 times over twenty minutes. Finally, my ship came in --- great seats for E section 106. Hooray!

    • RE: Brooklyn, NY, Barclays Center, June 10th - ARCHIVE

I was at both Saturday's and Monday's show at Barclays. Saturday sat in Section 25, Row 17 , right by the stage, and Monday Section 8 row 4, which were awesome lowers. I thought Paul's voice was marginally better on Monday. He sang flawlessly and with a lot of power. I also loved I Saw Her Standing There over Get Back. However, I thought the Saturday crowd was much stronger. I was standing for most of the show on Saturday, while yesterday, in amazing lower seats, most people were sitting for most of the show. I stood -- I had some guy aggressively yell at me to sit down during Mrs. Vanderbilt. (Not surprisingly, he left before the encores) I said "Bye" and continued to stand. Can you imagine that? There were even people sitting for Live and Let Die and Hey Jude until the Nah Nah Nah part. It was still an awesome show, but the crowd didn't seem as electric until the end of the show. I sat next to a very nice girl who traveled to see the show from Mexico -- she said the crowds in Mexico were much warmer and hung on every song. Maybe New Yorkers are a bit more jaded; I mean, McCartney has played here a lot of times over the years. Both shows were a thrill for me though!
