Thats true off course, although we do have live versions of That was me. The soundcheck recordings are one of the few possibilities to hear songs being performed live that we’ve never heard live before. I recall Paul saying that he was going to put out an album with these soundcheck songs, but that has yet to come.

RE: Paul McCartney- New Album for 2023
Thank you for your response! I agree with you in terms of setlist choices… I also think he can play some different songs without messing with the ‘Beatles core’ of the setlist. I was also convinced he would play more of Mc3, but unfortunately that was not the case. And so when Glastonbury came and they announced that the setlist would be changed up, again I was excited and thought this time he would really give us something new. Off course it still didn’t happen. Too bad, even though it didnt stop me from really enjoying the concert
His show is made for the majority of the people that attend his shows and I don’t think he will change that any time soon. Maybe someday, when the soundcheck songs are released, we can enjoy the songs that we hardcore fans really enjoy

RE: Paul McCartney- New Album for 2023
I don’t think a new album is rushed necessarily. Paul has said that he writes a song a week. So over the course of more than two years, there should be enough really good material for him to record. And in addition to that, at the beginning of the year he already said he was recording in the studio and was looking forward to doing even more so. Therefore I think it is very well possible for him to release a new album this year. I am also convinced that with all his experience and craftmanship he can put out an excellent album that will not be a let down after the previous albums. And the voice is a given and I think one should judge a new album based on the fact that it is a 80 year old man and try not to compare it with his voice of 30 years ago. Personally I’m not bothered by his voice. I still love it and what he can do with it. This is based on Who cares and Slidin’ for example on which I think he sounds really good. I am really looking forward to anything he puts out, just to hear a fresh Macca song in 2023 (or whenever) and see where his creativity leads him and us. It’s actually unbelievable to me that we can still expect new music this far in his life and career. And off course I would also like all his unknown gems to be generaly known hits, so that everyone appreciates him like we do!

Thanks for your post! I hope youre right, especially for the december 2023 part
I am really looking forward to a new album! Not to say desperate :p. I also think it is really quiet regarding Paul in 2023. I hope he used/uses this time to finish the new album! Maybe it’s a double album haha!

@yankeefan2 Cool! I’d settle for 4-5 rockers on an album any day

RE: Paul McCartney- New Album for 2023
Hello everyone,
I am curious what kind of music style you would like to hear when Paul releases a new album of originals? What would you prefer? I would like a ‘bass heavy’ album. Preferably with another bass than the Hofner. Or at least some tracks with other basses. I would also really like another piano rocker. And last of all I would be very curious how a song would sound when Paul throws in a little 80s. But on the other hand, that is going on so much right now that I hope he is not going in that direction. In the end I just want a real Paul sound and I can’t wait to hear what his latest sound is. Slidin and Long tailed winterbird sounded so fresh.
I would like to hear your thoughts!

RE: Forum acting up again???

I check the forum very regularly now, because I think something might be announced very soon, so it’s a pitty you can’t access it now :S

RE: Forum acting up again???
@oobu24 yeah, I’m also encountering problems. For example when I open the ‘Not such a bad boy thread’, I receive the message that an internal error has occurred and that the connection was lost. This happened throughout the entire day and was not solved by logging out and in again. Is this a known issue? Thanks in advance!

Wow, this is a cool suprise! And so is the announcement that the setlist won't be the usual setlist! I guess this is what we've been wanting to see! I hope someone makes some cool video's! Enjoy, for the people that are actually going!
