Tonight I was listening to my favorite radio station, here in the Netherlands. After the DJ played Maybe I’m Amazed, he just casually said that Paul Mccartney will be coming to the Netherlands next year when he’ll be 80 years old! I don’t know what his source or whatever is, but he is a fan and as a DJ he could know these kind of things quite early on... anyway, keep your eyes and ears wide open for news or confirmations...! Anyway, it got me interested

RE: McCartney 3?

Back on topic, sadly "McCartney III" has already dropped down to #37 in Billboard charts. I assume it will be out of the top 100 soon. I just wonder, can an older artist have a popular album anymore that stays in the charts for a month or so. "McCartney III" had everything you would think it needs to sell decently, critical acclaim, publicity from McCartney being on the cover of "Rolling Stone" with Taylor Swift, McCartney appearing on the "Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" and being released around Christmas which made people aware of the album.
Good question! Who knows about similar artists that have been at the top of the charts for longer than one week? Bob Dylan maybe with his last album? Springsteens Letter to you? I must say that the last week or so, it’s also reasonably quiet on Mccartney social media. No more TV appearence, podcasts and so on. I thought that would still go on in the first weeks after the release to keep the momentum going...

Hi there! I wanted to get back on the question whether I hear songs from Mccartney lll on the radio here (in the Netherlands) and actually I do! I heard Find my way several times. I also heard Deep deep feeling which was introduced really nice. And I heard Women and Wives once. All on the same radio station btw. I’m sure I will hear it more often the next weeks.
I don’t think that any accoustic type song will appeal to a large (new) audience. I’d say that Slidin’ has the most potential to do so. It sounds fresh and heavy and that alone can get some real attention because a lot of people still think of Paul as the guy with all those silly, mellow love songs.
I just think Europe is more receptive to playing new McCartney music than the US and glad to know you are hearing it on radio.
Yeah! I must say I really am thrilled everytime I hear one on the radio! It’s because it’s so rare to hear one of his solo songs spontaneously on the radio. Most of the time you put his music on by yourself. Besides that, it feels like some kind of appreciation when his music gets played on the radio and I think he really deserves that.

Yeah, it was really cool! He gave some really interesting answers to questions I had myself as well. Like he wants to sort of collaborate with Bob Dylan, thinks about using his ‘ricky’ bass again and thought that the last live gig he played live was one of the best gigs ever! There was some doubt about what he said about that gig in an interview, so it’s actually really positive

RE: PAUL ON BBC TV
Cool! Not that I can watch it unfortunately, so I hope it will find its way to youtube or something But for my understanding; is it a new show or a rerun and is he going to perform or is it an interview? Thanks!

The latest 'news' (sic) is that the album, still due in December, will feature new and older songs.
Great to hear some things about the upcoming album! But I was wondering; older as in written in the past, but only now recorded? Or more like covers or something?

Hey there,
has any of you received a refund for the cancelled show in Nijmegen yet? I asked for a refund via the form provided by ticketmaster/mojo on May 24th - and they have never gotten back to me.
Asked again a few weeks ago - no answer yet.
I have a feeling that I have been ripped of and stolen.
Hope you had better luck.
Yes, I received it a couple of weeks ago, fortunately! No answer is unacceptable, so I’d reach out to them again... Good luck!

My friend and I will be travelling from Ireland and we can't wait to see Paul again! I've never been to the Netherlands before so I'm really looking forward to it, we'll be staying in Nijmegen on the night of the concert and going to explore Amsterdam the next day.
I've heard a few Dutch people say they don't like the venue too much, does anyone here have any thoughts on it?
Hey Sarah,
Great that you are coming to the Netherlands for Macca! We won’t disappoint you, promise! I think it’s great he plays the Goffertpark! It gives the concert a more festival feel instead of those boring soccerstadiums without any atmosphere. Not to mention the often bad accoustics there that people complain about. I was there before for Bruce Springsteen for instance and had a blast, even at the back of the field. So don’t worry, the location won’t be a bummer. Furthermore, it will be quite easy to travel from Nijmegen city to the park itself.
Let me know if you want recommendations for your stay in Nijmegen! ️ Enjoy the coming months with the anticipation for the concert!

Otterlo isn’t far from Nijmegen at all and getting there by public transport will be perfectly doable. Especially when you get dropped off at the nearest trainstation (Ede I guess). You can be in Nijmegen in half an hour by train and then 15 min by bus to the actual concert

RE: Is it too early to start discussing 2020 plans?
Omg! He’s coming to the Netherlands!!! In Nijmegen, my hometown! I can’t believe this is happening! 🥳🥳🥳 I don’t know what date, it only says ‘Paul Mccartney returns to the Netherlands, See you soon’ on Facebook/Twitter, posted by Ticketmaster for instance. And I know it will be Nijmegen, in a big park, because you see the ‘Waalbrug’ in the background! So since this wasn’t part of the rumours there could be more announcements!

I know it’s not the most reliable source, but I just saw on facebook a post with a quote from Paul, announcing the release of an album with tracks from the soundchecks from the past years!
Well, not quite. The actual quote, taken from an interview on Paul's official website, was:
"And one day we will have to put together an album, or something, with a selection of these songs that we’ve gathered."
There's no announcement there that an album is being released or that an album will be released, just that an album might be released... if he ever gets around to it.
Yes, but that was not the quote I saw. I looked it up, it was:
Paul McCartney and his band are planning to release an album of cuts from their improvised soundchecks. Unheard material they've been keeping recordings of over the years.
Paul said: "We’ve got millions of them! And fortunately, there’s a guy in our team called Jamie, who logs them. And he tells me we’ve actually got thousands! Some of them are really good”
But I agree, as long as we don’t have an actual date yet, this may take a while... especially with your quote from the website in mind It’s hard not to get your hopes up

Actually, a lot of the songs on "the Russian album" Choba B CCCP he plays during soundchecks. That was just reissued. Maybe that's what he was referring to?
No, it actually appeared to be a new album. I will try to find the post on facebook.

Wow... that would be so out of the ordinary and sooo cool!

No...I believe that was an error. Saw a copy of the setlist and it had Pepper in the encore.
Ahhw too bad!

Haha cool! I really get that, I had the same thing with Coming up and Mrs. Vanderbilt

RE: Raleigh, NC - PNC Arena- 5/27/19- CONFIRMED
I hope everyone had a great time! A remark I noticed on setlist.com of the concert yesterday; Paul drank water on stage for the first time ever, as far as we know. I thought this was something he would never do. Was there something wrong and what did it do to his singing? Thanks!
