Paulfan, you might remind that guy that the Beatles would not perform anywhere where the audience was segregated. They had to guts to speak up where alot of the other bands didn't.

Hey Sam C I just realized you're from Tampa. I live near there. What a small world.

It seems like the music industry has more to do with the videos than the actual talent. Richard Lester (Hard Days Night) was told that he was the father of MTV to which he replied, 'I want a blood test'.

Hi Sam! How's the weather there? I was watching some Let It Be bootleg film and I have an observation which may be wrong. If you would rather not comment on it then that's understandable. It appears that Yoko was very clingy and was jealous of the others, especially Paul. All in all, I enjoyed watching them having fun playing music together. They really seem to dread playing in public again, but its understandable considering how they were treated. Just picking your brain. Thanks for being here for us. Peace.

Paul and the band play monkees music. You can see it on Back in the USA DVD! I do have a Monkees album though, somewhere around here. They were cute but just a pasttime to me where The Beatles were a near religious experience. The Monkees followed the crowd but the Beatles were the pack leaders, creating their own path. August is so far away!

I may be leaving from Florida or New York City (in the States). Still don;t know who the second person is that's going with me. They keep changing their mind. When you say take the bus, I assume you mean from the Manchester Airport. Thanks for your offer to help. I'll let you know, if I have any problems. "Ask for Paul" Hmmm.... What a coincidence. Wish that was the number of Bea's father. Have a good night.

Thanks to you, I called Cavern Tours with no problem and reserved a room in the Adelphi. Do you have any suggestions for the best route to Liverpool. The girl said to fly into Manchester and take the train. August seems to far away. Guess I'll need to bring an empty suitcase to pack all the Beatle stuff I buy. Peace!

Well, I got the vacation days I wanted to go to Liverpool next August for the festival. If I can't get the Adelphi, what other hotel to you recommend? Also, can you or anyone tell me how to dial International. I want to call Cavern Tours tomorrow to reserve, but I don't understand the dialing rules, such as:+44...... Thanks to Sam or anyone else who can advise. Peace!

Beatlemaniac:
Hi ((Sam)) & ((everyone)). I was just wondering if anyone saw the ?Concert for George? that just recently came out on DVD. I thought it was a WONDERFUL concert!! Everyone (many different artists) gathering together and singing George?s music, and most importantly, showing their love for George! It was such a BEAUTIFUL thing! It brought tears to my eyes. I miss him so much! But that?s not all! I just can?t get over how Dhani looked so much like George! It was simply amazing!! I got the chills just watching him! It was like seeing a young George performing on stage. Even at the end of the concert Paul got on the mike and stated the Olivia said, ?everyone got older and George stayed young.? I was just totally fascinated!! Just thinking about it gives me the chills!
I thought it was an awesome performance by everyone. It was done very well. I'm watching it again tonight. Dhani looked great. All the mannerisms of his Dad. Must be difficult for him when everyone looks at him that way. I'm glad it wasn't a eulogy but a celebration of his music. I loved when Paul was singing George's song and Ringo piped in just at the right time: "Play more 12 bar blues" like George said in the original Revolver recording (sorry if the quote is wrong). Then Paul turned around and acknowledged Ringo. I'm glad I ordered the DVD, although when a friend heard it, she asked "what are you listening to!" She did not appreciate the Indian music. Normally, I would not of but thanks to George, I appreciated the orchestration and the way that Ravi's daughter led it.(Sorry her name escapes me.) I thought the whole intro George would of loved.\ Sorry, I can't say enough about this video. PS: It was the most humbled I have seen Paul in a long time. Obviously showed how much he missed him.

That was a beautiful post Sam! I finally watched the tribute to George DVD. George would of loved all his friends there. Paul seemed very respectful, staying in the background and also a little sad. Great performances of George's songs. Terribly miss George

How the hell are ya! I sent Email to your site about the book. Also, I just listened to Fly on The wALL. Got a little teary eyed. I miss those days. When they played together, all was good. . They were one hell off a band, though. THe harmonies, the talent. They were so in sync with each other in the studio and on stage. O'K, enough nostalgia. Making plans for Beatlefest in Liverpool for next year. The city where greatness began.

Denny C, I love the LIBN. Its pure Beatles at their best. Did you read the booklet that came with the Cd? Great conversation. THey were ahead of their time, talking about visual stuff. I loved hearing John's Across the Universe. Makes me really miss them and appreciate having Paul and Ringo.

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Anyone read the booklet included with the LIBN CD? I think it gives great insight into their minds at the time. When I read their conversation, it struck me how they were so much on each other's wavelength, like twins. It also shows how they were ahead of their time when Paul talks about doing "visuals" of their performance. All in all, I like the CD. It sounds fresh and pure Beatles. Those boys could really gel together.
