I saw RS in a theater in Boulder in May, and the mix seemed to be fine. Surround was there (mostly crowd between songs), but not prominent, as is often the case for decades-old live shows remastered for the 21st century. That said, there was no problem with low end (although it wasn't deep, but was typical of many live recordings at the time). But the backing vocals were practically non-existent, and it wasn't just to avoid any particular band member. When Denny or Jimmy sang lead, you could hardly hear any of Macca's harmonies. I have the original Laserdisc (stereo, obviously), and this is a new development. It makes me wonder if they put the harmonies (and, possibly, much of the low end) into mono and push them out through the surround channels. Then, depending on how one's equipment mixes those channels for playback, or the surround volume, that material becomes difficult to hear, with what sound like occasional drop outs due to phasing issues. It would seem inefficient to manufacture more than one version of a video/soundtrack. In any case, last week Amazon relisted the Blu-Ray, so I took a chance...I figure, at worst, if I get a defective copy, I have a collector's item! When I checked my order today, Amazon is once again no longer selling the Blu-Ray (but they still list the DVD!). So...my question is, has anyone simply downloaded the $13 electronic version? That might be a way to find out if there is a good mix out there. Presumably, Eagle Rock would have the most recent version available for download.

All right! Amoeba download ! that was a great gig! I was there. I hope I can download it??!! my computer is old... haven't downloaded kisses either..yrt How bout Liverpool 2003? that gig was a top fav!! thankyou
I'm with HB. "Twas a great gig...and even though I have the UK freebie CD, I'll take this for the extras. To others on the forum, no need to diss on the Macca Team for putting out material that many of us have through other channels. After all, an alternative is to give out nothing. And how much out there is truly rare for the devotees? Ok, here's my wish list. Would love the full 1993 Hollywood Bowl "Earth Day" show. Or how about an official release of Liverpool '08? Or the May 10-11, 2003 Colosseum shows, inside and out (would make a great DVD set!). Or the best Macca show I ever saw (because of raw emotion), at Coachella on April 17, 2009? I'm optimistic that these will someday see the light of day.

RE: Rusty
And I just heard that they are planning 200 more...we'll be going to see these guys until 2020! I wonder which show they consider the first one. Rusty' first with Paul was Adopt a Minefield in June 2001. I was lucky to be there, and it's where I first found out that he was playing with Paul. They debuted the song "Driving Rain" - had only just recorded it days before. Too cool! Rusty's been walking on clouds ever since.

Paul and the Band had their 200th performance together yesterday in Salt Lake City. Congrats to them! They are the best band! http://www.paulmccartney.com/news.php#/1981/2010-07

I did not realise what age Rusty is! I was just doing a little reading and I think he is looking terrific. I seriously thought he was only about 30. ops:
Hey, I knew Rusty in high school - sawhis band Eulogy play at friends' birthday parties in La Habra and used to talk to him about rock 'n roll over lunch in the high school quad - he was a big Genesis fan back then. Band on the Run had just come out. I just turned 30 in May
