I'm inserting this addendum at the top because the curious tone I'd intended for the message sounds more negative than I meant it to and I can't think how to rephrase it:

How hard is it to actually achieve a #1 album these days? Obviously if I did it wouldn't even chart so I don't mean anyone can do it but with singles, I know streams from YouTube, Spotify and whatever else get counted (as percentages of a sale, though, I think) but I don't know how you'd factor that in for an album release. I don't know how popular albums are to create these days but I seem to remember they started declining in the last decade but they're picking up again. But, certainly a lot of younger listeners aren't buying albums. All the ones I know stream from Spotify and that's it.

Pair that with the fact that Paul's audience is probably, at its heart, still of the generation that does buy albums, I'm not greatly surprised it charted. #1 is excellent, though and I bet he's pretty chuffed. NEW only got to #3 which is still pretty fantastic. Kudos to all involved.

147,000 if the 153,000 albums that made him #1 were pure sales. Meaning most of us bought physical albums. I think that is pretty impressive since half of Eminem’s sales were digital.

I’m 27 and bought the album and some friends that are my age or younger bought it. I think you’re underestimating Paul here. Some of us who actually aren’t from USA helped him buying our physical albums from USA (I bought it on Target).

As far as I know the girl wasn't a slave and she was glad to show her body. If your men think that because of a woman dances is because she's easy then your men have a problem, the girl can do whatever she wants and she wants to dance like that and you can't forbbide her dancing the way she wants to dance. You aren't educating men. You should taught them that if a woman dances like that it's not because she's easy and they don't have the right to rape her, but you're educating woman to not show their body and behave like you want and this is really pissing me off big time because the girl can do whatever she wants with her body and you don't have a say about it. Do whatever you want with your life and body, leave the others alone.

It's easy to say that, to teach them that Brazilian women are not easy, when you are not the one dealing with illegal prostitution, you are not dealing with sexual tourism. It's not OUR men, it's EVERY person that buys a sexual tourism package and puts money in an illegal activity that includes CHILDREN. We are talking about sick people. We are talking about a video clip that would be in the mass media. I think the women can dance the way they want, they can dress the way you want. But a video zooming in her butt, being show to the world is just showing again, "come visit Brazil, we have tons of women like this". I am not the only one with this opinion, but thousands of women. It's a pretty nice utopia that you have there, teach all the men in the world after YEARS of culture making this sexual propaganda of this country. Women can dance the way they want and dress the way they want, they are powerful as they can be. But DO NOT show a distorted image of the country to the world. All we are saying here is that we do NOT approve that butt shaking video, with Charlie throwing himself on the floor to get a better angle of her butt. Hire an actress, let her dress anyway she wants, but concentrate on the event. A fan on stage with Paul, not her butt. Simple AS THAT.

You're making it look like it's women fault and I'm taking it personal. It's never women's fault, NEVER. What are you gonna do? Making women wear hiyabs so men stop raping women? If she wants to shake her butt on camera she can, you don't have a say. It feels like I'm talking to someone from the last century blaming women for men's faults.

I feel insulted as a woman that Brazilian women feel they have to change and stop showing how beautiful they are. You're blaming woman for being raped, you're blaming sexiness for being raped. Do women have to stop being sexy because for you men think they have a right over our body? NO. Change men, change how they see you educating them and not stopping woman and forbbiding them being sexy. Ffs, I just don't get it.

That's the whole point. They don't wanna change or stop showing how beautiful they are. They want to not be shown as a piece of meat. They don't want the camera zooming in their butts, and cleavage, and again the image that goes to the world, "look how sexy they are" "look how slutty she is for dancing like that" "brazilian women must be easy" It all comes from a distorted image the media shows, women got tired here, they live with it, and they spoke up. They wanna educate the men of the world to change a distorted image. I applaud the women of Brazil and I fully support them.

As far as I know the girl wasn't a slave and she was glad to show her body. I actually don't like when people go up to the stage because I feel like they're ruining a whole song just to make someone happy. What if Get back is someone's favorite song and wanted to listen to it live but someone sing with Paul and you feel disappointed. I'm ok with people giving gifts and not performing with Paul but I actually feel annoyed when someone performs with him (obviously I'm not against Springsteen or Billy Joel). A friend and I are trying to make him wear a hat for Obladi Oblada if he sings again with Mariachi, but I don't actually think I'd be happy performing or even being in front of thousands of people. So... fan or not fan, I wouldn't have liked the Brazilian girl dancing on stage.
