Yes, this is a repost since my original post was deleted. Are we not allowed to bash TicketMaster here?
I gotta say, I hate the way Ticketmaster does their business. To get McCartney tickets you’ve gotta register for pre-sale. So I do, I register. Then I get an email a day or 2 later saying that I’m on the “waitlist”, and “should more tickets become available, registrants will be randomly selected and notified via text message”. Which is already a buncha BS.
It gets worse: I then go to StubHub and they’ve already got nearly 2,000 tickets available!
So Ticketmaster does it this way, they say, to keep bots from buying tickets so the real fans can. Well guess what, it’s NOT WORKING! I’m as big a Macca fan as anyone, been a mega fan for 45 (or more) years, but I might have to restort to paying ridiculous amounts of money to get nosebleed seats! I had/have plans to take my 9 year old son, who LOVES all Paul and the Beatles, to his first concert in Fort Wayne. It would be a very special, once in a lifetime experience that we’d share together that he would NEVER forget for the rest of his life. Hope these a-holes don’t blow it for us. It shouldn’t be this difficult. It’ll be crushing if it doesn’t work out.

I just called the toll free number to get tickets on the PNC Arena Raleigh website, and had to go through an automated voice but I bought and paid for a ticket right on the spot. Why didn't you do that? There wasn't anything on there about "you have to register for pre-sale" and I think I got the ticket through ticketmaster (?). Unless it was directly from PNC Arena but I thought it was from ticketmaster. It cost $250 plus "service charge" to total $293, and it's on the ground floor. I'm still anxiously waiting for it in the snail mail, to arrive. I'm sorry you're having a hard time and hope you and your son get to see him.
I tried that, but I was told I had to have an American Express card to buy over the phone.

Yeah, maybe I should've got the light cube. Sounds pretty cool. Does it have the 2 "bonus tracks"? What other packaging is inside?
Ha ha! You got me Nancy! I fear I look too much like them and don't wanna end up on that website!
As personal rule, for reasons I would not like to discuss here in this forum, I never shop at WalMart. Today I broke that rule to get the deluxe version for a few bucks less. Sure, the cube and extra pics are probably pretty cool. When it comes down to it , though, I want the music. So I got the deluxe version for $14.98. By the way, it RULES!! I love it!!! It's different. The songs are (mostly) great. I'm only on my 2nd listen now. I'm sure it'll grow on me even more...
I do hate Wall-Mart, but I guess i'd be willing to go there for this!
So which retailer has the best price on the deluxe version of "New"? I can't buy every single different version out there so I can have everything available. I'll just pick up the deluxe version. Looking forward to it though!
I agree with Sarah. There's way too many versions of the New album! I too would like to buy one album/collection and have all the new material Paul is releasing. At the most he should release a single single disc version with just the 12 albums tracks, the another version with the albums and a bonus disc with all the other tracks. Really though , ONE release is the way to go. Jeez, Paul's rolling in it so much that he could afford give away the bonus tracks. I actually believe if he was cool like that it would only boost sales. So can anybody tell me which version will have the most on it? That's the one I will buy. Then, honestly, I will look to download the others for free and not feel guilty about it one bit.
Man, I love that bass...
I just got the Blue Ray yesterday and I love it. Saw in the theater and it was a huge disappointment. The blue ray blows what I saw in the theater completely away. I didn't have any trouble with the picture fluttering (or whatever was said), and no issues with the bass dropping out. I can be very critical of things like that, and I was when I saw it in the cinema, but no such problems with my blue ray copy. And jeez, Denny f'n Laine, man, what a BAD-ASS! Love it...
Pretty simple everybody: Rolling Stone sucks (and has for a very long time now). And lists that attempt to put songs or artist in order of greatness or imprtance are dumb. End of discussion.
Both Mull Of Kintyre and Girl's School kick big butt! Neither song got the exposure they deserved here in the US...
not a mullet... There is a difference. Paul's hair was cool. Mullets were (and are) not! I should know, I've had both at one time or another growing up. I admit, I had the mullet for a longer period of time in the 80's! With the reissue of Rockshow, I keep hearing people refer to Paul's mullet. I especially liked the funky mullet Paul had around the time of Red Rose Speedway and again in '74 when he visited John (and Harry Nilson) in LA. Goofy subject for a thread, I know, but I just thought I'd get it off my chest!

Jimmy was more than just an "average guitar player" he had performed with many of rock's elite, not just McCartney. He certainly could hold his own with any of Paul's other lead players, with the exception of maybe Robbie McIntosh, who was the most versatile of Paul's guitarists. Though Lawrence Juber also was pretty versatile.
Hardly! Jimmy's music resume wasn't very extensive. He was the least talented of Paul's guitarists. During his time there were many better guitarists that could write, produce & were dynamite guitarists. Take for instance Tommy Bolin which you are thinking "Who's That" Former Deep Purple/James Gang who also recorded two amazing albums before he died around the same age as Jimmy from Heroin as well. Most rock guitarist's in the last 30 years would blow Jimmy out of the water. Sorry but its true. There are probably many Wings fans that would totally disagree but my musically taste is somewhat edgier & heavier than pop & fluff. Rock On!
Man, I wasn't gonna come back to this thread, but I can't stay quiet! Jimmy ruled, and as was mentioned, his resume WAS pretty great for a 21 year old. Jimmy is my favorite of all Wings and solo Macca guitarists! I can hardly listen to early Wings boots with Henry's sloppy-ass playing. and Juber, to me, was a little light sounding. It's a matter of opinion anyway, man, and Jimmy is my fave for sure.

I will be wearing my mom's original Wings Over America tour tshirt from 1976. The one she gave me was cut off at the stomach years ago but that just means my McCartney tattoo will show. So if you see a mother and daughter rocking matching yellow Wings shirts that will be us in Memphis, Washington, and Milwaukee.
Pics, please.

I'm not wearing any Paul apparel. I think it's cliche. I always dress up for concerts. As in, dressy. I bought a few new dresses yesterday and am trying to which one for which night.
I'm with you on this. I'll probably wear a cool shirt and tie with nice pants. I would say a jacket too, but it'll be July 14 so it'll probably be too hot for that!
I LOVE Mull Of Kintyre AND Hope Of Deliverance, but the thread is about Hope Of D, so I'll put in my support of that song. C'mon, Paul, play it!! If he is alternating. I sure hope it's Hope night when he gets to Indianapolis!
