It seems McCartney's team left the organisation hanging and did not put effort in the proposed Spring 2021 dates, but cancelled after all: https://www.groupama-stadium.com/paul-mccartney-concert-programme-le-7-juin-annule/
I wonder if Lyon was a slow selling show, so it's convenient to them. If so, I fear the show in The Netherlands will be cancelled after all as opposed to postponed. The organisation will not be happy, since they could've made this decision 6 weeks ago like on all other events, but it was McCartney's team who wanted to wait to find suitable dates for 2021. It explains the radio silence.
It's interesting they made this U-turn, especially since McCartney himself confirmed as well the tour was being pushed back to 2021 (not cancelled) during the Howard Stern phoner 2 weeks ago.
Thank you for posting this link.

They are being postponed to 2021, not cancelled. Indeed for reasons stated, plus insurance reasons, since not all countries have a total ban for May and June... yet.
Also, the shows are still on sale, for the reason they will roll the tickets over to the next date. What's the hold-up at for the announcement of the new dates at this point can have many reasons. But it's ridiculous. It's 3 weeks until the show in Lille, which on paper is still on sale and in the schedule.
My personal theory is that they are waiting for the OK from Glastonbury that they can headline in 2021 as well. It's the whole purpose of this tour full of way too big venues in the same territory he played the same set before. Actually, the postponement is a blessing in disguise for the Dutch gig, which didn't even sell 20% of the capacity before a massive promotional campaign. It crept up to 30% by now, but still not long enough to make this lucrative. Which is their own fault, they knew this from the start.
Please tell me how you know the tour is going back to 2021, and that tickets are transferable, because I can't find that stated or confirmed anywhere!
The problem is that it's not stated or confirmed anywhere yet, which is the ridiculous. I know this through the Dutch organisation, who have been in daily contact for weeks with McCartney's camp now. (Almost) all the tours and venue shows worldwide for the whole Summer have been cancelled or postponed to 2021 weeks ago. All but McCartney's tour.
His team doesn't want to cancel, so the bookers were waiting to match schedules. To add to this, yesterday they went from a confident "waiting for a new date for Spring 2021" to "we don't know if a replacement date can be announced in the foreseeable future". And in public there has still been no announcement made from either parties.
Taking the piss at this point, 18 days before the first proposed show. Which is still in the schedule, and other shows still on sale.
Ah, thanks that is helpful. I am really cross for the lack of information coming from the tour's promoters.

That's weird they left off "Monkberry Moon Delight," don't you think?

RE: Barcelona/Europe Tour dates Corona Virus
I booked tockets for the Lucca show and did that through Event Travel. ET is still selling tickets for this summer's concerts. It's madness but there is nothing on their website about what is to happen. I cannot find mention anywhere from anyone as to what's going to happen. I have a balance to pay on those tickets. We need to know what is happening! Many of us have flights and hotels booked as well!! I'm so cross that I get an email telling me what Paul is up to etc but no mention of the great money making ventures of his concerts!

RE: 12 Weirdest Paul McCartney Songs
"Weird' has to be taken in context with your experience of other artists and songs. When I bought 'Wings Greatest" as a 19 year old in 1987 I was really struck by the weirdness ( to me) of Band on the Run and Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey. I was vaguely aware of BOTR but only knew the chorus. The twists and turns off both songs really blew my mind as being totally odd ( to a 19 year old who had grown up on 80s pop) but they also really turned me on to his music. I was on holiday at the time and when I got home I went straight out to buy Ram. It remains my favourite album of his, but I'm waffling now...... Other than that anything by The Fireman or Temporary Secretary is weird to me.

RE: The Beatles isolated vocals
If I fell is gorgeous. It's interesting to hear John and Paul switch and swap between lead and harmonies

RE: This is Paul McCartney’s favourite song of all time
A very worthy choice. I love that song. Brian Wilson was co-writer wasnt he? I watched a documentary on the BBC last year about the making of Pet Sounds.

RE: Hope For The Future
Hope of Deliverance has a lot of reasonace for me at the moment...'we live in hope of deliverance, from the darkness that surrounds us'.

One of Paul's soul songs...
This
. It's my soul song as well. I adore it more than words can say. I'm kinda glad the studio version was never released. Althought it hasn't had the universal recognition it deserves it always stands as a piece of intimacy between Paul and me whenever I see him live; for those 4 minutes it's just him and me singing this song and its the best feeling ever. PS, just an example of how cool this song is, my 18 year old daughter who has a wide and eclectic taste in music, has this song on one of her Spotify playlists.
That is such a beautful experience for you!!
One of his best songs for sure. Have you ever thought about the words eggshell finish, it seems to be saying something else different instead of finish to me. I think it is another language... at anyrate it's so beautiful, like a hymn.
Ah man, it really is! A Paul McCartney concert isnt just a gig but a huge emotional event for me!
I've never really dwelt on the eggshell finish thing. I didnt know if in that song he was referring to the the sheen you get on eggshell paint or if he was getting all hippy with literally egg shells! I've always concentrated on the verses as they describe me. When I first heard the song back in 1993 I couldnt believe he'd written a song, about ME!!!

RE: Barcelona/Europe Tour dates Corona Virus
I have similar cocnerns. I'm going to the Lucca gig in June. At the moment the virus is contained in the Milan region and advice from the UK FCO is that it's ok to travel to Italy, save for those areas in the north. I'm sure the team at MPL are keeping an eye on this. Paul is obviously fit and healthy but he does fall into the higher at risk category by dint of his age.

RE: 13th June – Mura Storiche, Lucca, Italy - confirmed
Two tickets ordered and I got the soundcheck package as well. I've paid half the money now and the rest is due in April. It was cheaper buying through Event Travel than the link to the Italian site. So so happy. We did consider the Naples gig but it is too close to the end of my daughter's exams.

RE: Macca’s best 25 songs of the past 25 years
Oooh fab to see mention of Golden Earth Girl! It's such an underated song! I don't agree that it brings Wanderlust to mind; it's closer to Warm and Beautiful, well, the piano intro is anyway! Glad New is there although I would have swapped Save Us with Queenie Eye.

RE: London, UK - O2 Arena- 12/16- CONFIRMED
I've got my ticket from Dec 2009 on the board by my desk. The price for my ticket then was £95.25. Apart from the Strictly Live Tour earlier this year, I havent been to the O2 since Paul played there in 2011. It isn't the cheapest of places. I'm expecting tickets, if I'm lucky enough to get some, to be anywhere from £130 upwards.
