Surprised that this wasn’t put in place of Come On To Me when Got Back started! It’s a much better song

RE: Paul McCartney 2023 Rumors
Everything appears to have gone quiet again. Anyone know of any strong rumours or anything? Hopefully be able to see him again soon

RE: Paul McCartney 2023 Rumors
Just seen on Twitter a post saying “ Sign up to the PaulMcCartney.com newsletter to receive info on the latest news, releases, tour dates and much more
”
I know it’s been said before but surely with the tour rumours & this something’s afoot? -
RE: Paul Mccartney 2022 - rumours
Any talks/rumours of a UK/EU tour for maybe winter? It would be great to see Paul again

I would be willing to bet good money he WON'T do Martha My Dear for two reasons: the piano is very difficult and the song gets very high which he could never pull off at 80. The time for him to do that song was anywhere from the '70s to 1993. So many missed opportunities for him to perform some of his classics (Oh! Darling, What You're Doing, Tomorrow, etc.) but now there's no way he could hit the high notes and do them justice!
I mind hearing a recording of him playing it in 1969 & even then he couldn't quite do it. It's definitely his hardest song to learn on the piano, it's the only of his so far that I had to give up trying to learn as I just couldn't do it haha

RE: Glastonbury 2022 - confirmed
I love Paul but I'm really hoping he doesn't do Glasto! I love his live shows as they're such a joy & the atmosphere is incredible but his tv performances never come off well. The backlash he got from the Jubilee & Olympics was awful! Hoping for a UK/European tour to be announced later on but we'll see.

RE: Paul Mccartney 2022 - rumours
Fans on the Run have made a post saying "Rumours pipeline begining to buzzzzz..." Please let this happen, still got a soundcheck show to do

RE: The lyrics 1956 to present
I wasn't too sure about the books at first but now seeing the list & the actual variety of songs they have throughout his years has swayed me substantially! Very pleased with the list of songs they've gone for, glad there's so much more acknowledgement of his post-Beatles career. I was just expecting a few of his big solo hit songs & the rest to be The Beatles

Gordy, that is how those "sign up" things have always been worded. Doesn't mean he's touring this year.
️
I know that's how it's normally worded but it's the first time in a while I've seen it said on Twitter though. It's previously said "Sign up" but hasn't said touring for quite some time. Just want it to be true

On a completely selfish level I really hope not Gordy!
Just out of hosp and meant to be staying as calm as I can after a mini stroke so I seriously can't cope with tour dates
Oh my god! That's awful to hear Ecce, hope you're feeling better soon & hopefully see you at a Paul related event when you're able too

RE: Paul McCartney 2021 - Rumours
If Boris's announcement that all social distancing rules are completely abolished by 21st June (we'll see). I can't think of anything better than to have some Paul Christmas shows
It's just wishful thinking but it'll be such a lovely thing to have after a terrible year and a half.

^ Gordy, were you able to see yourself in the crowd? I watched it last night - Paul was in fine form & good voice!
Yes I was able to spot myself a fair few times. If you watch 1985 & look to the right you'll see me jumping very highly

It's on youtube at the moment...
Based on information on the site setlist.fm, it seems that this broadcast version is missing "Letting Go","Come On To Me" "Things We Said Today" "Confidante" and "I Wanna Be Your Man". Perhaps they trimmed it for time down to an hour and a half? Perhaps someday it will be released on dvd with the complete show? But it was great to watch!!
I think I read that there was a heat wave in Liverpool that week. Paul remarked on occasion about the heat in that room in the Cavern.
It was one of the hottest days of the year that day
That basement gets hot pretty quickly but on that day it was sweltering! When I mentioned this gig to Paul at the Grandude signing the first thing he said to me was how hot & sweaty it was. Just look at the credits with us leaving, we're all drenched
Glad you saw my post, Gordy! I've enjoyed reading your account of being there. How great that you spoke to Paul about it!!
So it does seem to be the case that they had to omit some songs for the telecast?
Aw thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed reading it! I was so chuffed about that. Cause beforehand I was thinking what on earth could I say that he hasn't heard as many times & then thought that this was the perfect thing to say to him
I hope those songs have just been omitted from the official broadcast just for runtime reasons etc. Hopefully if they release it on dvd or something it'll be the full thing

RE: McCartney 3?
IT'S OFFICIAL! His first number one since Flowers in the Dirt! Why on Earth did it take this long but I'm so glad he is, it truly is a fantastic album

With the release of his new album I watched his appearance on Jimmy Fallon last night hoping he would hint at hitting the road once the pandemic is over but nothing...
I'd imagine touring isn't on his mind right now. He seems like he's going to wait until there's a definite all clear to go back out, it's wise not book announce any dates yet as they don't want to postpone/cancel anymore gigs

RE: McCartney 3?
Just listening to it for the second time just now!
So far it's sounding really great. His voice sounds good to me & the album's so full of energy. Definitely doesn't sound like an album by someone who's planning on retiring anytime soon so can't wait to see what he does next once we're finally able to go back out thereI may not have formed my full opinion quite yet but I can say that this definitely makes up for the disappointment of the cancellation of the 2020 tour 🥰

Darn the luck, the sometimes annoying (to me) Tay Tay Swift is dropping another new album around that time ! That must be why they pulled back Paul's, to the 18th. Hers comes out just a few days from now, I think. I read Swift had beaucoup different pressings and vinyl LP colors and gimmicks for hers. She was humble bragging about she just couldn't stop writing songs while making "Folklore." They're pouring out of her.
I was thinking that too but the cd comes out on the 18th so I think he might not hit number one
But at my local record shop the guy told me he hasn't seen this many preorders for McCartney III compared to other albums in a while so hopefully that puts him in the lead
