@jackal Paul has produced an album of Buddy Holly covers for his bandmate Denny Laine in 1977, called "Holly Days". He's singing and playing on it as well.

RE: Paul McCartney 2023 Rumors
With no concerts planned for this summer or fall, and with Paul not joining any of the artists at Glastonbury this past week-end (in spite of being in attendance for a lot of gigs), I'm afraid his performing days are over.

RE: Wings Reunion
@njr Thanks for the info! I didn't know George did double-headers on this tour, but apparently, it was quite the norm.

@wandy Found my George ticket pic - it was $8.50, not $7.50, but still a bargain! I think I only paid about $10-$12 for 1976 WOA ticket!
Is 10.30 pm the time the conccert started or the curfew?

RE: Would Paul and Ringo ever tour together?
Not going to happen as long as John Lennon remains dead, as George Harrison so aptly put it.

RE: Paul Mccartney 2022 - rumours
With Covid cases on the rise again throughout Europe, I don't really see an insurer underwriting an arena tour in the winter months, unfortunately.

RE: Cheese & Grain, Frome - June 24, 2022
He probably did "From(e) me to you" as a nod to the location
Considering the setlist was the same old, same old, I wonder if t's really wise for an 80-year-old to do a two hour show (including voice-killing "Helter Skelter") 24 hours before his headlining, nationally televised gig at Glasto.

RE: Where's Paul been lately?
Didn't Paul claim to have given up smoking weed for Beatrice around ten years ago?

RE: The Rarest Paul Song You Seen/Heard Him Perform Live
I would go for "(I want to) come home", which was only performed on the "Good evening Europe" tour in December 2009. It hasn't even been released on record, although Tom Jones did a version of it on one of his albums.

RE: 2022 "Got Back" European/UK tour
I don't really see a European tour happening this summer, unfortunately. More and more acts are already postponing their planned tours to 2023 due to the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 restrictions.
It's much easier to tour just one country like the U.S. (notice how there aren't even any Canadian dates planned) than several states who each have their own regulations.
Maybe he'll do Glasto as a stand-alone gig or some UK dates, but a tour of continental Europe doesn't seem likely to me at this point.

Was it left off because it was the B-side of the 45 Get Back, so they wanted people to also buy the 45 and the album?
That would certainly make sense had the Get Back single and the Let It Be album been released at roughly the same time. As it was though the single had come out in April 1969 and the album in May 1970 so its more likely the Beatles simply just wanted to give value for money. They didn't want to release a new album with two of its twelve tracks having already been available / familiar for over a year. Such a concept is almost laughable these days when artists tend to release half an album as singles in advance of the actual album being released.
The Beatles were always about giving value for money.... From the early days... We could come up with a pretty good album of songs they never put on their official album releases... which were just as good as the ones they included... It would be a pretty good album...
We could call it, hm, "Past Masters" or something like that

RE: SIR PAUL COMPILATION PACKAGE CALLED SOLO CLASSICS / 56 Tracks/3 CDs With a Release Date of June 18, 2022

I'm talking more about an "old school" consumer (probably more the older demographic in their 50s, 60s 70s and oler) who would buy a CD Compilation Package IF IT HAD THE "RIGHT" TRACKLIST. LOOKING SPECIFICALLY AT THE TRACKLIST (56 TRACKS/3 CDS)...I WOULD DEFINITELY BE A BUYER ESPECIALLY IF IT WAS A GREAT VALUE/PRICE LIKE $49.95. JUST FOR THE CONVENIENCE FACTOR ALONE, I WOULD DEFINITELY "BUY" THE KIND OF PACKAGE I'M PROPOSING. I'm just saying that I believe there are a lot of people (and in those in that demographic) that potentially would buy.
Honestly, 50 bucks for a triple CD was maybe a great value back in the early 90s. Nowadays, they sell for around half that price. I paid around 30 $ for Pure McCartney when it was released, and that was four CDs (the deluxe edition). There's no way I would be shelling out fifty bucks for three CDs of previously released material.

That's a pretty dire attempt to rewrite Photograph.
Exactly... i don't understand the reason that Ringo released two EP's in a pandemic ('Zoom In' in 2021 and 'Change the World' also in 2021) instead of an album.
Does he want to sell more or stay in the top positions more often?
Who knows? He said he likes EPs.
Yeah, he likes them so much he released - wait, let me count - exactly zero EPs in the first fifty years of his solo career

RE: Beatles Sons and Daughters Picture Thread
After having read Sean's
that he has lived "in many cities and countries", I was wondering where he has actually lived, does anyone know? I always thought of him as a life-long resident of New York City, to be honest. -
RE: BEATLES ALBUMS ON ROLLING STONE'S NEW TOP 500 ALBUMS OF ALL TIME LIST
I like Pet Sounds as much as the next guy (and hearing it performed live in its entirety by Brian Wilson was a highlight to me), but no way is it better than every single Beatles album. Heck, without Rubber Soul the Beach Boys would still have been doing surf songs in 1966.

B.B. King and Leonard Cohen, to name just two, each came out with several highly lauded albums in their early and mid 80's. Their talents had only grown after being practiced and honed for many decades, and they had developed in insight and wisdom. While still retaining a great deal of their youthfulness. They went out on the road touring behind those minor masterpieces. In support of their late in life hit albums.( B.B. sat down while performing, but he was still up there on stage. )
Cohen did not tour in his 80s. He stopped touring for good shortly after his 79th birthday in 2013.

RE: Rename Penny Lane???
Any ideas about changing the name of Menlove Avenue as well, as it seems to glorify gay relationships whilst disregarding lesbians and heterosexuals? Also, the word "liver" in Liverpool might be offensive to vegans and vegetarians, while "pool" is discriminatory towards non-swimmers.

RE: Paul’s obscure items
There was an interview, I believe on MTV, in the 1980s, where Paul did a short rap which started something like this:
"Yo, my name is Paul and I got more money than y'all"
I think I had it on an old VHS tape, but can't find it anymore.
