RE: Doctor Who
Alright, I thought the Weeping Angels are an alien race. How and when did the Statue of Liberty become an alien? Or cherub statues? Or any other statue for that matter? Just thought it was those particular Weeping Angels statues that could move and touch people? Not other statues. How could the SofL have walked from Ellis Island and gone unnoticed in NYC without causing a panic and disruption? How did one Weeping Angel survive after they caused a paradox when it zapped Rory? I thought they were ineffective in daylight. How was that possible? And, how were the Weeping Angels able to zap people through holographic or tv images of themselves from the last episode they appeared in? Did the Weeping Angels do somekind of time distortion that didn't allow the TARDIS to re-materialize in 1938 NYC? And, why can't the Doctor go back to 1938 to see Amy and Rory in the TARDIS? For that matter, why couldn't he bring them back to the present, or anyone else who had been zapped to the past to their present timeline in the TARDIS?

RE: Monkees Lead Singer Davy Jones Dies
oobu24:
I just read (from another person, not the actual article) that Davy blasted Paul in an interview from about a year ago. That he could sing better than Paul? Anyone read that?
What's the source of this interview? What publication was it in and when last year did it appear?

RE: Monkees Lead Singer Davy Jones Dies
The character of Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig) was added on Star Trek in late 1967 in response to the popularity of The Monkees' Davy Jones, and the character's hairstyle and appearance are a direct reference to this. Will Davy Jones be buried in his hometown of Manchester, England?

'Doctor Who': is Sophia Myles the new companion? By Jenna Busch January 13, 2012 http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/01/doctor-who-is-sophia-myles-the-new-companion.html "Doctor Who" show runner Steven Moffat just tweeted something that set the Whovians all atwitter. He may have just revealed the identity of the newest companion. Fans of "Doctor Who" are still in mourning for the departure of companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) but a fan favorite might be joining the cast. Now, we're not sure if this is the way to interpret the tweet from @steven_moffat, but judge for yourself. Right EVERYBODY who follows me, go and follow @SophiaMyles - spin that fireplace. NOW. I'll explain later. Or not. Sophia Myles tweeted back: "Watch this (fire)place," and "The plot thickens..." If you recall, Myles played Mme. Pompadour in "The Girl in the Fireplace," which is widely touted as one of the show's best episodes. (We'd also add "The Doctor's Wife" in there.) While we'd love to see her back, we're not sure the famous character would be a full companion.
