?What is the function of rock'n'roll? It's the same as the function of classical music - to make sounds that are appealing to a mass of people and are of some worth.? RIP Sir George Martin (1926-2016)

RE: FourFiveSeconds- new collab. with Rihanna, Kanye and Paul
RMartinez:
There are many people in this society who, if you asked them, would even know who Kanye is.
First time I've heard him - only recently - because of Paul.

beatlesfanrandy:
Rihanna's clearly a global superstar, so she's got nothing to gain.
Well, that's not correct - for instance for the first time ever she's gained my attention on a track of hers.

I do get email notifications but if I don't log in manually each time the forum software will not know I've clicked on the link in the email and will therefore stop sending me any more notifications of new posts...
Exactly...

RE: Why didnt the Beatles write more political songs?
moptops:
The most consistent Beatles message via their music was LOVE. Much more powerful than any politics...
Indeed, they did send quite strong messages, even when not so explicit...

After 1982 he lost his magic touch (...)
He never lost his magic touch and that's exactly what's so special about him

I wish they'd make school-aged kids, maybe 15 years old, do a month on a farm somewhere. What could be more important for education than learning about where our food comes from?
Yes, i totally agree. Even younger kids - children are so sensitive - if only they could see what happens on a farm - i'm sure they'd make the right choice when allowed to.

whenever i'm shopping i am AMAZED at the amount of food in the aisles. they don't sell all that do they? today, i was looking for frozen vegetables WITHOUT butter or sauce, well how did that turn out? i'll tell you: 3 freezers full of ice cream and cake, 7 full of meat and fish (that's the deep freezers - there are 6 freezers with fresh meat) and 1 of veggies, half of it convenience food. 'nuff said.
Of course they dont sell it, all this overproduction is simply disgusting! where you're from by the way, the US? My impression from various parts of Europe is that vegetables are getting more and more popular, also all types of vegan products, not to mention the gluten-free craze. Go vegetables!!

I love the New album cover - it would be great if they sold a shirt with that on it.
Yes!! and not just shirts, it's really cool for all types of merchandise.
