    • RE: Paul's Favorite Books?

I remember in some fan group we all were watching an interview with Paul that was done at one of his places.  We took the time to look at the furnishings behind him, the artwork he had hanging, taste in couches.  someone froze a frame and read what book titles they could on the bookshelf behind him.

Personally, I always found looking at people's bookshelves fascinating and big insight into the person.  the books visible were mostly on plant biology, gardening, and insects like one on the biology of ants.

    • RE: Paul's Music has been healing

Thanks, Guys.  I still have my spouses' cat that I took in when their house burned down.  I'm grateful for her and I feel my friend all through the place still.  first night home without her.  Spouses' cat got big hugs but she always gets them.

I decided to play McCartney Years again while getting dressed and I found myself reliving many of my last moments with my cat a day later so it added an extra layer onto the music for me.  I'm sort of glad I didn't play All My Sorrows.  I would have lost it.  I do feel I put her out of her suffering.  she could no longer walk for 12 hours before I made the choice.

I was really attached to her.  but Paul's music is pulling me through.  I'll make it through this like I have every other thing I survived.  I just know it's the natural end of a cycle in both our lives.

    • Paul's Music has been healing

I had to put my old cat down today.  I knew it was coming but that doesn't make it any easier and knowing she was starting to suffer.  I knew for a long time I loved her so much and that the end would be hard on me.
The worst part was the wait.  Calling the vet and then what do you do for those few hours you have left?
We spent it together listening to Paul.  I put on the McCartney years.  she wasn't such a big McCartney fan but I was always playing it for her and felt it was needed.

As I held her phsyically for the last time, petting her, hugging her, I realized how important Paul's music was to me.  I always thought it was more then the music, who he was, what he stood for, the people he connected me to both good and snotty nasty.  But the music was the main thing and the most important.  It couldn't have been a better moment for me and my Cat to share in our final moments together.

I"m a wreck right now.  Lighting grief candles and drinking.  I know it will pass and she lived the best life.  Even the vet said I was a great cat parent always giving her meds, bringing her in when she was sick at the right time.  She was just very old.

I'm just more grateful to Paul then I'd ever been right now for his music.  Ever.  Yeah, Little Willow had me in tears but still, his music spans the spectrum of emotions.  Just like I do.

    • RE: RIP...for all that have passed

Russ Gibb has passed.  wasn't sure where this went on the board so admins, please move at your own discretion please and thank you.

For those of you in the not-know, Russ Gibb was from Michigan and responsible for promiting the rumors of Paul is Dead though the Identity of the caller who first called him is still a mystery.  Many of my old hippie friends actually knew him and are grieving him right now remembering fondly the shows he worked on and those posters....wow.  some of the best of 60s art.

Yeah, part of me still blames him for PID but ....

    • RE: Don't agree with this quote by Paul

One of the issues with bullying that doesn't get addressed is when it's done by one adult to another.  it is only talked about as a kid thing and when those bullies grow up and still bully, the consequences are worse.  jobs and livelihoods can be lost.

Stella having been a bully is why I just can't like her.  She's the type that bullied me when I was younger.  I grew up among those girls.  Now?  It's rich and poor alike who get their jollies attempting to push their power on me.  (Going through a situation with a workplace bully.  haven't dealt with this in a very long time.  Customers even sent me flowers to support me through this difficult time)

    • Don't agree with this quote by Paul

I don't agree with this quote by Paul.  Why?  I was bullied throughout school by the rich girls.  it didn't end at High School.  6 years afterwards, whenever they'd see me working jobs, clerks in store, temp secretary in an office, they'd do crap just to get me fired because such sadistic things gave them pleasure.

I remember the worst was working in a mail room at a bank and one High School brat, 6 years since High School had graduated, pulled her same crank calling antics to my work station.  calling over 200 times saying mean things.  she got fired for it but they didn't want to keep me around either.  so, Paul, bullying can't always be laughed off.  It can cost someone a life and a job.  It only gets worse when adults do it

      Here's Paul's quote:

My hope is that if there are kids being bullied — and there are… Maybe by listening to this song and watching this video, they might just think it’s not as bad… that it’s the kind of thing you can just stand up to and laugh off and get through.” - Paul

    • PETA sure can unite folks in their hatred of it

One thing I'll give PETA credit for. they sure can unite folk together who hate them when they do something mean and stupid:
