dennisdster: This does get a little confusing, doesn't it? Looks like what the rep told you matches what I said (except I think you meant to say "sections A3 & A4" are stage left). I was referring to the audience's point-of-view, rather than the performer's (which is referred to as "stage right or left"---I had to look that up!). Perhaps seat 1 can be described as being the closest seat to center stage, except for in the center section, where you couldn't very well put seat 1 in the center of the row. Anyway, I'm only going by ticketmaster's posted seating chart, I've never been inside Petco Park.

: Oh, the mystery of buying tickets
Monday I was thrilled that my husband & I were able to buy enough tickets during the fan club pre-sale to take 6 of our grandkids to see Paul. However, since the two groups of seats were very far apart (A5 & 120), I decided to later try the AX pre-sale, too. Throughout the week it said that either no tickets were available or some that were much worse than I already had were available; I stopped looking. Then, this afternoon, over 3 hours into the public sale, I decided to try again, and eventually snagged 2 extra seats directly in front of my A5 seats! Now I can invite their parents, too (guess which tickets they get?
). Anyway, the moral of this story is: If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, don't give up!

nanorama: I used the chart on the ticketmaster site. It's kind of hard to see, but there is a little "1" in an upper corner of each section (floor only.) A4's seat 1 is on the right (facing the stage.)

dennisdster: AX is apparently just charging higher fees than crowdsource; they also give you far less time to complete your sale! Penny Lane 13: The ticketmaster chart (which is certainly blurry!) indicates that the numbering starts on the right in A2 and on the left in A5. So, considering the distance to the center of the stage (where he usually stays) it looks like a draw if you're in the middle of the row, but A-2 looks best if you get closer to seat 1.

Penny Lane 13--what are the seat numbers? For both A-2 and A-5, the closer to seat 1 the better (A-2 is numbered right to left; A-5, left to right.)

I am so thrilled that Paul is coming to San Diego and that I get to fulfill my dream of taking some of my grandchildren to see him! My husband & I will be treating 6 of them, ages 10-14: A5 row 26 & 120 row 17! They are sooo excited! It was still hard getting through ("only" 3 million people down here) but it was totally impossible to get tix for the LA show (13 million up there!)

gitgirl:
What a frustrating experience this presale thing has been! Very bummed. Hard to work up enthusiasm for continuing to try to get tickets elsewhere...
Hang in there! Try again from time to time; through the years I've managed to get some hours, days and even weeks after they first went on sale (through this site or ticketmaster.)

RE: Los Angeles / Phoenix / San Francsico - Pre-Sales
Well, I've now been watching the "searching" sign on the presale site for over 1 1/2 hours. I guess it's just stuck? Was wanting to take my grandchildren who are about the age I was (14) when I first became a big fan of Paul's. Been to many of his concerts myself and am very grateful. It's so wonderful that he's still going strong---what a gift to us all!!!

Have been on presale site since it opened. Kept getting "errors" , after 30 min. finally got to request tix and a "searching" message came up----over an hour ago now! Still says searching! Should I continue to wait?!!
