Hi, I usually contribute paintings...but thought I'd open a new page just for poetry...as long as it doesn't make sense! Many of the poems are great in the forum, esp love2travel.... so here's my humble attempt....I don't know where it will go...or end up...or if it'll collapse after this one. I'll start, after re-arranging Paul's lyrics a little for 'Wanderlust' Kevin. Brand away, help his oh, Petty find wanderlust Just love guilty Captain?s this dropping Maybe better petty day Grime wrong love Me what where Oh light not For wanderlust free Just mark did where Bust sea of New time better Day head sea This away Love dropping what Dark see light out Free wanderlust new For away See can found Away out there?ll

RE: Up and Coming live Painting of Paul 2010!
Paul has a very talented son, called James, who has some great music out at the moment... and soon to be released on physical format..instead of previously download only 'Available Light' and 'Close at Hand'.... so good I'll buy them again...... also I've done this watercolour painting of James below, he looks so much like his dad! I also believe James is doing some small UK live shows in December , so well worth going to.... as well as Paul's shows of course! Maybe James could be a support act to Paul one day...that would be something. I'm sure both sets will be fantastic... Kevin.

RE: Up and Coming live Painting of Paul 2010!
Kevin. I was curious about his choice for 1st place. I guess he was relating to the guitar and the heart strings represented all you need is love. It looked like the artist might have a back ground in commercial art to me. It was very good and I guess only Paul saw something in it that struck a cord...no pun intended. I wonder if his upcoming marriage had any impact on his choice. Maybe not wanting to look like he living in the past. I think Paul is very sentimental. He still lives in the same homes he had before Linda and during Linda. He kept the home that he and Heather met or fell in love in ( she got it in the divorce) He names his kids after family. he got married on John birthday. There was lots of similarity in Heather and Linda and there is lots of similarity with his new one and Linda. To me he a very sentimental person which is understandable with the crazy fast pace world he lives in.. he always on the go and there something to be said about coming home to comfortable old shoes. Speaking of similarities between Nancy and Linda, there are a lot! Both Jewish, live(d) in New York City, had breast cancer, went to college in Arizona, had a brother named Jon/John, and their sons have names based on the boys' grandmothers' names (James Louis for Louise and Arlen for Arlene) Thanks appletart2 / everyone, I guess you would have thought people would have had enough of silly love songs.... to quote a song....but I think we are all sentimental on occasions, but I do like Paul when he does his experimantal more risky songs also! He's very versatile at writing, and it's great that he writes even very good classical scores... I did this drawing and then thought about making a poster out of it. Refers to John Lennon's famous anthem, and that song is still relevent today and I think always will be... It's a very inspirational song, and with the drawing I wanted to show that soldiers are not the only victims of war, but often sadly innocent people. You're right appletart2, it is a crazy fast paced world, and to me John Lennon's fantastic song 'Watching the Wheels' is a marvelous comment on taking time out from it.I'm sure Paul also loves time to himself and family which should be respected... Kevin.

RE: Painting of Nancy
love2travel:
Such a lovely painting Kevin... thanks for sharing this and you are right, Nancy certainly deserves her own link
I think you've captured her beautiful smile, so nice to see!!
Thanks love2travel, Nancy has got a beautiful smile you're right.... it's nice to see some happiness in these difficult times for everyone.... I did this chalk drawing , it's obviously not Paul and Nancy, but does show two people very much in love......I've called it 'The Lovers'....although I'm not going too soft..however you do get a soft effect with drawing chalks! Kevin.

very nice. Hope you enter his contest. here was the 3rd place winner on Paul contest. Which I liked the best.
Hi appletart2, The only disappointment with the winning entries is I find them very overly sentimental... I thought Paul may have selected something more radical / challenging... Otherwise I agree that the pastel of Linda is very good... not sure about cottages and hearts.... everyone has their own opinion which makes art so great! Kevin.

Painting of Nancy
Hi, I know I've posted this on my main page but thought Nancy deserved a page to herself..instead of hidden away on 'Up and Coming painting of Paul'! So I did this painting of Nancy below, and she looks lovely.. I work with an art group of mentally disabled people, and when I compliment anyone thier face lights up, and I realsie why I'm involved with art. Not for money, profit or fame which is hollow, but I see a side of life where people paint for theraputic reasons... and simply for the love of art... which leads me on to the recent art competiton this site ran... I don't agree with it, and as I've said hate the 'x factor' and 'Britain's got talent' and whilst showbusiness might be purely about entertaining / tv ratings... I hope art is above that and deals with higher issues. I have a deep respect for the disabled people I try and help, and appreciate they can experiences the wonders of life (not society based currupt ideas based on profit) through art. the simple things of life that we all take for granted and many of us have lost sight of, nature and our natural environment which greed is destroying. Kevin.

Hi appletart2, thanks, I don't really agree with voting for art...like I really dislike 'The X factor' and 'Britain's got talent'......I did look at the entries and they were superb, a lot of people have put a lot of hard work into them and I think they all deserve something....but I'm not Paul McCartney! such contests like the X factor I find distasteful, and whilst make entertaining viewing for some I think it plays on peoples aspirations, and often makes fun of them which I find in bad taste. but I agree the Linda that won 3rd is very good...they are very talented.. Anyway, that was the pencil study for Nancy's portrait and here is the painting I've done... Kevin..

RE: I LOVE POEMS
love2travel:
JUST LOOKING 4 SOMEONE TO DANCE WITH I long to dance across the Starry Night Across the sulfur stars and indigo blue?. A dream of van Gogh plays across my mind?. Where are you? I long to dance across the Starry Night?.with you?. http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq52/Happy_Traveller/Favorite%20Photos/VanGogh-starry_night.jpg van Gogh is one of my favorite artists....I love how he uses the thick globs of paint....especially in his night time paintings....I love the stars....thick yellow globs of paint. I wrote this after visiting one of his exhibits...
That's very beautiful love2travel, "We would dance Light up the sky" as Paul puts in one of his Fireman songs.. the painting has got movement, swirls of paint and the act of creating must have been very energetic by Van Goth which comes across... I also like the idea you've done a poem based on one of Van Goth's paintings....very creative.. Kevin.
