Here are some random NEW thoughts - It is a really, really, good album. - The songs are so consistently strong. - I do not think many people have mentioned how funny "Looking at Her" is. The music is so delicate when describing ?her,? and then becomes loud and dissonant when describing the effect she has on ?him.? Then "she" returns again and again. It is just so funny. - "Appreciate" is the best and most radio-friendly track. - I do not expect hear much of NEW on the radio, though. There simply is no precedent for pop radio to play 71-year-old artists. Plus, NEW does not sound like a ?pop? album to me. It sounds much more like an ?indie? album. And indie station ain?t gonna play Paul. - "Turned Out"should have been a regular album track. - "Road" is a really cool closing track. - The guitar and bass work throughout NEW is just awesome. - I am shocked by Britain?s distain for Paul. Reading him described as ?an uncle that everyone just wished would go away? is pretty ludicrous. He is so appreciated by the rest of the world. - Flaming Pie, Chaos, Electric Arguments, Memory, and NEW are so good. I wish Paul would forbear other endeavors and concentrate on making more rock/pop albums.
