RE: Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors
OK this is killing me! I have to schedule time to be gone in mid to late August for work and it is looking like that could be when Paul comes to the Northwest. I can't believe that Paul would skip Seattle after the amazing time that he (and thousands of his adoring fans) shared in Seattle at Safeco Field last year. It really was a very special concert. Also, Portland has always been a much more receptive audience that Seattle. I know this will get a few people going, but when you attend them back to back, it is obvious that Portland REALLY loves Paul. So I guess I just wait to get the email with the latest schedule--but it is getting just a little embarassing. I let out this teenage squeal in the office that might have been more appropriate about 5 decades ago--for me--yikes! I am a department manager and then I have to act cool, calm, and collected. Plus I am struggling to come up with the perfect excuse on why I can't travel to the East Coast in August--unless Paul decides to fit in a couple of dates in Boston and DC!!?!! Maybe I'm amazed that Paul can still put into such a spin after all these years!

RE: Fans over 50?
So I was just "13" when Paul and his friends hit Ed Sullivan. That has to be the most vulnerable age of all time! I heard the music the previous Fall and was already a fan. When I saw them live on TV, I immediately fell in love with Paul. It is funny-- a zillion years later I watched the tape of the Ed Sullivan show and I can tell you the exact moment the magic hit. So, different times in my life, I have been asked, "Do you believe in love at first sight?" What do you thinK? Arlene

RE: A big hug for Paul
Dear Paul Through your music you have shared your deepest thoughts, your inner joys. You have exposed your insecurities and your celebrations of life. It is no wonder that we, who have been listening, share this immense personal loss with you. Your fans have turned to your music as a way to celebrate our life milestones, to find comfort in our own losses, and explore our insecurities. (Amazing just what you can fit in all those silly love songs!) It is so hard to explain how, what some consider just an icon, can be such a part of my daily life. And now, seeing the postings to the boardies, I see that we are truly a part of yours. More than anything, I want you to know that you don't have to explain. I trust you and know that you will always do the right thing. No media coverage could ever change what I know is true. Proud to be your fan and cyber friend, all the best- Arlene
