Perhaps many of Paul's fan site members don't particularly care for the American Reality TV talent show called "American Idol", but, this season one of the best contestants in a long long time is a true bonafide rocker with prodigious talent whose hero, by the way, is none other than Paul McCartney. His name is James Durbin and his singing and performing talent is undeniably stellar. Already he has attracted the legendary guitarist Zakk Wylde to accompany him on the Idol stage. Not only can James churn out a tasty metal performance, he is equally adept at handling a slow dulcet ballad, and has splendidly performed a couple of Paul's Beatle songs. Forget Adam Lambert. This guy is a true rocker! What with Durbin giving Mac Daddy huge props and tributes on Idol---and deservedly so---and with cantankerous Simon Cowell long departed from the show, who Paul had issues with in terms of how he treated young contestants, fans of "American Idol" are hoping that maybe Paul will finally honor us by performing with James Durbin in May during the Finale.

Paul, An "American Idol" Is Calling You

RE: ~For Sir Paul Maccartney~ Fans write your messages here
So, Michael Jackson has passed away, and for most hardcore fans of Paul McCartney---which I am one---there are ambivalent feelings about the sad event. On one hand, no one can dispute the phenomenal talent of Jackson, however, I cannot overlook the fact that Jackson dealt underhandedly and unscrupulously when he wrested the Beatles' catalog away from trusting Paul. I recognize the fact that Michael Jackson's tacky tactics cost Paul millions of dollars AND prevented fans from hearing Paul sing great Beatle songs at his concerts. I don't know about Paul's British fans, but, there is a huge segment of older American music fans who once loved Jackson who started to despise him for screwing Sir Paul. And it was just that---a good screwing!!! So, when we all tell our fond tales of Jackson, let's not forget what The Gloved One was really all about.

RE: Silly questions for Paul
Sir Paul, why won't you grace us all with an amzing appearance on "American Idol" as a Mentor? I know, I know, you don't care for all these silly TV REality shows and you don't cotton to the way goofy Simon Cowell treats the contestants on "Idol", but, come on, Sir Paul, the dwindling show NEEDS an infusion of credibility by and through the presence of a mega-superstar like yourself. So, don't pay any mind to Cowell (who is basically clueless, anyway), and, like Ringo urged, "fix us something tasty". And, for all Paul fans, which I am certainly one, I have just posted a new story about Paul on my daily blog at Orble. The story is about American Idol's relentless efforts to coax Paul on the show. (My fingers are crossed!) I would be honored for all fans of Paul to read the story, and you can do so by going to www.orble.com and click on the Entertainment Channel button. The title of the feature is "Will Idol Ever Reel In Mac Daddy?" Please enjoy. And VOTE!! Peace and happiness to all fans of Paul! Davido LegEagle, Writer "American Idol Chatter" on Orble
