by Claudia Espinosa (Letty) from Florida We traveled from Tampa, Florida to attend Paul's concert at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. A day before, we could know the area and also see the Mellow Arena where The Beatles performed in 1964. On August 18th, the surrounded area outside of the Consol Energy Center was crowded, there were long lines of people waiting to get into that place for the first time, and we were excited about that. When we entered, we received a piece of paper with information and a photo with Paul and his daughters Mary and Estela. It was related to the Meat Free on Mondays campaign. We told that person that we have been vegetarians for a long time. This happened during Paul's tour in Mexico in November of 1993, and my great inspiration was Paul McCartney. I can say that since then my life has changed for good. Before taking my seat, I bought my official T-shirt with Paul on it, and also my magazine related to this tour too. Before Paul took the stage, we could enjoy for more than 20 minutes wonderful remixes including Wings and Beatles songs. Meanwhile, the big screens were showing very colorful images and videos. I have to say that I really enjoyed the music, and it would be great if these songs were on sale. Even though my seat was located to the right side of the stage, I had a great view. There were many blue lights on the stage and a beautiful smell of incense too. Finally, the moment had arrived the concert started with "Venus and Mars". Paul used to sing that song to open his Wings concerts on the 70's. After not seeing him since 2005 during his tour in Tampa, Florida, it was a great joy. I would like to thanks Paul for the marvelous set list where we included Wings Beatles songs that I had never had the chance to listen before such as "Letting Go", "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five", "I?m Looking Through You", "Two Of Us", "Mrs Vandebilt" among others. The energy of Paul and the members of his band was great. We had three hours of music and excitement that was growing up during the concert. One of my favorite moment was to listen "Helter Skelter". This moment was surreal. Paul thank you again for the wonderful night, and also for those three waves of arms that you gave me corresponding to mine. ------------------ I also include a review that I wrote on 2005 when Paul visited Tampa. http://www.angelfire.com/music4/joseb/letty/Tampa.htm ------------------------- 25/Nov/1993 Mexico City Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez(Foro Sol) 15/May/ 2002 Tampa, FL Ice Palace 17/Sep/2005 Tampa, FL St Pete Times Forum 18?Aug/2010 Pittsburgh Consol Energy Center
