    • RE: 5/25/22 McCartney's Hollywood Bowl/Miami FL Show

      I was there.

      Some scattered thoughts:

Great venue, great sound. Had a fantastic time. Voice is definitely diminished, but not to the point where it wrecks the experience.

Heard 5 unique songs: Come on to me, Fuh You, Getting Better, You never give/She came in thru...

Enjoyed  the combo of You Never/Bathroom Window more than I thought.  I'm really hoping a video shows up online of it.

Cant Buy Me Love is an underwhelming opener.

      Why not "People Want Peace?"

It has an audience sing along portion. People would love it due to situation in Ukraine. It doesn't even matter if they know it.

Definitely some TM funny business going on. Someone on another secondary site had 11 tickets up for sale in the same row.

Tried for the AMEX presale in Hollywood, FL. As I feared, due to small venue, prices are astronomical. Of course, scores of scalpers are already taking their pound of flesh on secondary markets.

As I was listening to Lavatory Lil, I mused how cool it would have been to have John and George on it, each contributing a verse.

      That was unexpected and FUN.

"Fuh You" just seems too crass and too beneath Paul.  It's not as if he was/is going to have a top 40 tune anymore. He didn't need that on his finely crafted album.

Paul made the mistake of letting the producer title the song. He should have just said "No, it's called For You." and the lyrics should have been printed as "for you." Even though they are printed as "I just want it fuh you" people still hear "I just wanna fuh you." which is a totally different thing of course!

I agree.  He should have named it "For You," but then just sing it the way he does and let people think what they want about what is being said....or not said.  I think people really don't stop with hearing...."I just wanna fuh you."  They go for hearing the whole four-letter f-word!!!

Paul must be fine with the ambiguity or he would haven’t made the title what it is.

    • RE: Decades-Spanning "Live" Album Milestone Reissues

This release really makes me want a '13-'19 collection mixed by whoever did this one. Take the Paul is Live approach and throw out all the things we've had before (barring those which have had notably evolved arrangements, e.g. the current Let Me Roll It is far more interesting than the '02 version, mostly down to Rusty finding ever more countermelodies to bring out).

I keep thinking this as well. This is a missed opportunity for sure. Off the top of my head (I’m sure others can help), these songs would be unique live versions:

8 Days a Week , Hard Days Night, Save Us, Juniors Farm, Another Girl, Temporary Secretary, I’ve got a feeling, paperback writer, I’m Looking Through You, lovely Rita, mr kite, in spite of all the danger, love me do, from me to you, new, I want to come home, come and get it, my valentine, 1985, night before, another day, queenie eye, here there everywhere, hi hi hi, all together now, day tripper, Golden slumbers melody.

Thats 27 right there. Add some cool sound check songs too.

I appreciate the releases, but I do wish we would get a more contemporary release of live music. There are a lot of tracks since the "Up and Coming Tour" that would be welcome to have for the first time officially.
