RE: The Beatles - Christmas 2017
Kestrel:
Bit of an anti-climax really. I bought a bootleg lp 40 years ago of the fan club xmas recordings and I don't see anything here that's going make that lp redundant.
I'm with you on the basis of that I have all the tracks compiled on a pressed bootleg but this is the first time this stuff is getting a commercial release. I got to hand it to Apple for putting 1+, finally a SDE of an album and now this xmas collection - in the span of 2 years. I'm more CD-centric but I think this is pretty cool with the color vinyl 7" records. I'm optimist for another great product year in 2018.

RE: 2Legs: A Paul McCartney Podcast
http://2legspodcast.podbean.com/e/two-magpies/ "Two Magpies" October 27, 2017 2Legs is back! Tom Hunyady and David Gargalino have 2 topics in this (extra long) episode. First David gives his review for Paul's One On One shows in the new "Little Caesars Arena" in Detroit, Michigan. David went to both shows and had a great time! In the 2nd segment David and Tom discuss eight songs that Paul recorded under a differant name or helped out with on someone elses (or one of his own) projects. As Tom discussed at the end of this episode, he was working the event in Vegas where the shooting took place and he wants to give a special shout out to Don Maley, Edward Crawford, Kit O'Toole and of course David for reaching out and checking up on him from time to time. It was much appreciated! As always we would love to hear from you. Email us at 2legspodcast@gmail.com, write on our Facebook page at 2Legs A Paul McCartney podcast or follow us on Twitter at @2Legspodcast Next up, another author! ===================== Post-show disclaimer: Listeners - please do not confuse my analysis on certain things as being judgy or over-critical. I presented my subjective experience of both shows while interjecting some objectiveness on certain aspects of the show. This is my 7th show in 15 years - I adore Paul and his band. He is the best in the business and gives you 3 hrs of songs and storytelling - giving other bands a run for their money at 75! I hit on certain points that have been touched up by others; fans & other podcasts. My concert audio was for reference and was played via another computer speaker into the vocal mic I was using for the show. This was purely to illustrate examples: be it great, good and/or average. He did fantantic with a 4/5 day break and did well for the follow up on the following night. I would never challenge one's own experience or opinion - Tom just interviewed me for my overall experience of both nights. I hope to see Paul one day again as I've always have - just hope it won't be too long from now.

RE: Detroit, MI-Little Caesars Arena-Oct. 1st/2nd 2017-CONFIRMED
Oh the metro Detroit area has been super spoiled; 7 shows in 15 years plus a show in GR. Him and Ringo tour so much, thankfully in this area that I see them more than most 1st cousins of mine.

RE: Detroit, MI-Little Caesars Arena-Oct. 1st/2nd 2017-CONFIRMED
I'm still buzzing from the two shows this weekend. Sunday was excellent and Monday was the needed reprieve from the crazy and sad world surrounding us. I fear that this may be it for Paul in Detroit for another 3-5 years.

Monday's show was literally 3 hours - slightly longer than Sunday's show.

bentleysmama:
To much " noise " made during Here Today. Whistles, yells . It was a bit annoying! Whatever happened to the total silence during this song ? But it was still a great show & Paul sounded great too , now for night 2 of Paul in Detroit!
Because of selfish people wanting to take that quiet opportunity to be 'the one' heard. Absolutely annoying and a richard move especially for the other 15k people whom paid a lot of money to hear the legend on the stage.

RE: Detroit, MI-Little Caesars Arena-Oct. 1st/2nd 2017-CONFIRMED
Before I eat a post show snack and go to bed and wake up at 6:15am to be able to leave work early for show #2: One thing stood out to me - Paul was in as fine as his voice can ever be at this age. He may have been better than he was in 2015 at Joe Louis Arena. A 4 to 5 day break does wonders to his voice. He did not falter at the beginning of Maybe I'm Amazed. On at 8:14pm off at 11:11pm. First show at the new arena really magnified the McCartney show experience. Back for a more in-depth experience after tomorrow's show.

Terrym2442:
Call the hotel- I think they might have a shuttle to/from the venue.
Kathryn O:
insidethewrapper:
Staying at Motor City Casino. Can you safely walk to concert from there ?
I'd worry more about walking back after the show. it'll probably be midnight
You may be better off with Uber/Lyft/etc. But perhaps Motor City may have shuttles. Motor City is owned by the Illiches (whom own the Wings).

RE: 2Legs: A Paul McCartney Podcast
https://2legspodcast.podbean.com/e/the-beatles-and-their-revolutionary-bass-player/ "The Beatles and their Revolutionary Bass Player" September 19, 2017 2Legs is Back! For their first interview of the new season Tom Hunyady and David Gargalino are joined by Dennis Alstrand, author of the books "The Beatles and their Revolutionary Bass Player" and "Beatles in your Soul." David and Tom discuss the evolution of Paul McCartney's bass playing throughout his time with the Beatles (and a little solo bass bass playing as well.) Not only does Alstrand's book discuss Macca's bass playing but also digs deep into his musicianship as well as his three band mates'. If you would like to purchase Alstrands books go to www.dennisalstrand.com or Amazon.com. Like what you hear? RE: Ringo Starr's new CD "Give More Love" 15.09.2017
Hamish Stuart:
I just wonder why Ringo chose to record a third studio version of "Back off Boogaloo". Likewise, the re-makes of "Don't pass me by" and "Photograph" are also superfluous, IMO. The rest of the album is rather enjoyable, though.
Mainly because Ringo found his original demo upon cleaning out/downsizing his storage units. It more enjoyable than his last remake of the song. Better on here than waiting for a rarities set that probably won't come out anytime in Ringo's lifetime.

RE: Flowers In The Dirt Deluxe Edition
Iainmmallen:
Do I have a unique CD? I recently bought the FITD Deluxe Box Set. Expensive but brilliant. When playing CD2 (the Original Demos) I found that after 'Playboy to a Man' and about 25 seconds silence Track 9 plays 'The Lovers That Never Were', the song that started the CD. What is really interesting is that the version on Track 9 is different to Track 1 and differs to the 1988 Demo on CD3. My 'extra' version sounds more like the 'Off The Ground' release but certainly isn't identical to it. Can anyone on the Forum or someone from MPL tell me if my CD is the same as all the other releases or is it a unique mistake.
That is a part of the deluxe set for disc 2; that is the emerick mix of that song.

Taylor Hawkins has an amazing voice. This song is a highlight of the album for me regardless of Paul. Taylor makes an appearance on the 2008 reissue of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue .
Hi MetalGod! Like Rockerdude and l2t, you do know your music well! I am really surprised that Taylor Hawkins is not a lead singer in his own band! Then again, in the early 90's, people were always wondering why David Groul was never a lead singer in a band? As we all know, Groul would move on from Nirvana and form the Foo Fighters as te lead singer! And as the saying goes, "and the rest is rock n' roll history!"
lol thank you - I love a lot of different genres; I can play a Slipknot cd and then the next one I'll grab is a Four Tops cd or the latest Elvis release on vinyl. I think there is a Taylor Hawkins solo release out there - Sunday Rain has convinced me to further explore Taylor even more. Great stuff - I hope Paul brings Dave and Taylor aboard on a few new songs.

RE: Ringo Starr's new CD "Give More Love" 15.09.2017
The four songs I've heard so far have been enjoyable. That's coming from someone whom enjoyed his last couple of albums. This is my most anticipated album since Ringo Rama. I ordered via Amazon for the cd but I'll have access to the audiorip as of midnight.
