Although I am optimistic of a positive outcome I am not waiting any longer for some corrupt politicians and businessmen to do the right thing. I've started a fraud investigation with my credit card company and PayPal as well as initiating a claim through my travel insurance policy. I am determined to get back my 900 Euros back one way or another. Hopefully the end result is these shysters are out of business.
I also submitted a claim with my credit card bank, Paypal rejected my inquiry because I submitted it 1 day past the time deadline.
I also just missed the paypal deadline, unaware there even was one... i was wondering has anybody gotten a refund via paypal?

Gianna, can you give us an update based on your opinion? Although a voucher will probably be useless to me, the deadline to request them is the 17th, which would be the 16th here in the US (Tuesday). Do you feel that the statement by Paul's team could influence a change to the voucher only refund?
Thanks for any guidance you can provide. I'm so far away that I feel helpless to make a change.
I would wait until the 16th, but, if you have doubts, ask for it. In my opinion, despite the deadline of 17, they will accept applications even later. But, if things go as we hope and repeal or amend the Decree, both vouchers and tickets will be refunded.
However, I will not ask for the voucher at all.
The only reson I might ask for the voucher is that I am afraid of getting nothing... but if refunds are then given and I only have vouchers it would be horrible
If it does happen.. when do you think the Decree will be repealed\amended?
As I said, in my opinion, they will accept the request for the voucher even after the 17th and in any case the law does not say that the request must be made in the manner established by Ticketone but it leaves us the choice.
The article 88 of “ Cura Italia,” as modified by the “Decreto Rilancio”, has not yet been converted and therefore still has a temporary character and we cannot yet know what will happen, because we don't know how the decree will be modified during the conversion, but we have good reason to trust that there will be a refund of both tickets and vouchers
thats good to know.... if i change my mind about the vouchers I might request at a later date... but I really dont want to ever give this promoter any buisness ever agagin, which people would be doing by even just using the voucher
In Italy we are all saying that we will never go to an event organized by these cheaters again
Thats great to hear, I hope they go out of business
I love Italy and cant wait to go back but I wont be spending this much money on a concert there again thats for sure ha

My feelings exactly!
I think I will just wait for a cash refund or nothing... the vouchers I will prob never use and they will no doubt make it difficult to get, and even if I could use them Im not sure i will...i dont want to give this promotoer any more money which I would be doing by atteneding a concert,.If i do happen to be in Italy and want to go to a concert I will make sure it doesnt have anything to do with this promoter anyway.. My tickets cost about €150 but ended up being arounf €190 after post etc which is a joke in itself but yeah I think its cash or nothing for me

Are people going to request the vouchers? Im not sure what to do. If we request the voucher does that mean we agree to them... and if we dont does that mean we will just get nothing?
At the moemnt I think I will just hold out and not request the vouchers and hope McCartneys people release a statement saying they will refund fans

D'Alessandro&Galli and Ticketkone.it are criminals comitting theft and bank fraud. I don't care what country's laws you live under! I bought VIP for both shows so I am out almost 800 Euros! I can try recouping through my travel insurance but I suspect they will not cover canceled concerts! Do they realize that they are losing potential future customers? I will NEVER consider another show in Italy offered by this promotor or Ticketone nor, as much as I love Italy, do I have the inclination to ever visit a country again that allows such laws to ripoff consumers. Not even Paul could induce me to come back again.
same, I will never buy tickets for a concert in Italy ever again, what a scam
A concert in Italy is a complete different experience: locations are historical, people is warm, the whole atmosphere is magic. Imagine singing your favourite tunes beneath roman walls.
But I understand your frustration, there's nothing else I can say. I'm Italian and I feel sad for all of us. They are trying to save the music industry in Italy withouth thinking of the customers, especially the ones coming from abroad.
yeah I love italy, thats why I picked italy over every other country but if I knew buying concert tickets was a literal gamble in italy I wouldnt have and will never again.

The local press is now aware of the situation. The italian Rolling Stone just published the article "Why who bought tickets for Paul McCartney should attend a Céline Dion concert?" collecting hundreds of (upset) comments in their social medias. That's quite true, I will never spend that amount of money for anybody else.
At the same time, it looks official that the only way to get a refound will be through vouchers on Ticketone. The requests will be accepted until June 17.
and if we dont request vouchers we will never be refunded? how is this legal?

Another update from TicketOne in Italy:
https://www.ticketone.it/campaign/en/covid-19/
"According to the new dispositions referred to in Article 88 of the Decree Cura Italia (D.L. n. 18/2020), and the consequent decisions taken by the Event Promoter, tickets for the events that have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 health emergency and were scheduled until September 30th 2020 will be reimbursed through a voucher.
Once a voucher has been issued, it could be used online at TicketOne.it exclusively to purchase tickets for future events scheduled by the same Organizer".
Their deadline to request the voucher for Paul's cancelled concerts is June 17, 2020.
have you asked for a cash refund? did they reply?
I sent them an email today... no reply yet

Who wants a voucher!? I bet no one. People who bought Paul McCartney tickets want to see only Paul and no one else. They should give back everyone's money, that is the only fair and correct way! I hope Paul will look into this. This is outrageous.
I agree 100%, and Italy is the only country offering those useless vouchers. Ticket sellers in France and Spain have already said they will issue refunds by credit card.

"Event Tickets
When an event is cancelled at destination, consumers are entitled to seek a refund of their tickets, if not already offered by the promoter or organiser. If the event organiser is based within the European Union, the United Kingdom, Norway and Iceland, the European Consumer Centre (ECC) Ireland may be able to assist consumers who run into difficulty in their dealings with the organiser."
I think by european law (could be wrong about that) they have to refund the tickets if it is cancelled... that seems to be what the "European Consumer Centre (ECC) Ireland" say on their site anyway.

RE: Has Paul played his last concert?
Kestrel wrote:
It increasingly looks like there will be no concerts this years. If Paul postponed his shows until next Spring / Summer, then he'll be bordering on 79 years of age. Given the length of his shows and the amount of songs he has to remember (to play and to sing), will it be beyond him to perform such shows by then? As far as the big scale / two to three hour concerts are concerned, have we already seen the last one?
yeah probably in terms of tours, there wont be a cure for this thing for a year at the earliest, countries are going into recessions, people wont be traveling, and goveremnts wont just open up venues straight away anyway....or huge public outdoor gatherings like the Italian gig would have been
It would be too much of a gamble to put on a huge tour again only a year after this whole situation... even if they find a cure, it could mutate and return
having to cancel this tour has already cost them money, they wont put it again until its a close to sure thing that it wont be cancelled...by which time he prob will be too old but who knows maybe he is still going in 2 years time, I hope so
I think he will play glastonbury though (if its on) and one off gigs

yeah theres no way this is happening in June, probably not in 2020 if at all
Given that artists such as Roger Waters and Ringo have postponed their tours until next year now, I can't really see Paul playing any shows this year anywhere.
yeah I agree, I mean theres a world recession about to happen with a deadly virus spreading the world ha I just hope they give us a refund without much hassle and not this "voucher" thing they have mentioned, I dont live in Italy and dont want or need a 170 euro voucher for events in Italy lol

Italy has not yet decided whether to close schools and universities over the novel coronavirus, Education Minister Lucia Azzolina said, after ANSA and other Italian agencies said they will be shut until mid-March.
The minister came out of a government meeting where new measures were being discussed by top ministers to explain that a final ruling on schools and universities will come "in the next hours".
"14:03
A draft decree seen by Reuters says Italy's government is planning to ban public events, close cinemas and theatres across country due to the coronavirus outbreak"
hopefully it doesnt last long if true,
