Just had a great time with Sir Paul in DC (22nd row center at start, and ended up approx 10th row during the second encore as people in front were leaving)! Later this week will be my 20+ time seeing Ben Folds, along with 20+ times for Barenaked Ladies. This would have been an unbeatable double bill in 1996 -- hehehe -- but BNL will be more nostalgia than anything else since they split with Steven Page. Still to come in the summer of oldies (but goodies): Huey Lewis and the News (in Atlantic City) and then (whatever is still left of) Styx (the band that got me started playing my own music) in AC. If I have any money left, Matthew Sweet will cap off the summer in a small venue in Philly. Love. My. Summer.
Paul aboslutely KIlled it in DC!!! I could've had free tix for Huey Lewis at Harrah's but the date didn't work out...that's a really great venue if you've never been. Is Styx over at The Borgata? They usually come thought here every year...never saw them though!
Yes...Styx is at Borgata. We decided to go to that and Huey Lewis well before planning a weekend in DC w Paul. So glad I did because I need something to look forward to now that Paul is away from the east coast. Tommy Shaw (and James Young) are still with them, so it should be fun. Problem with AC shows ( I saw Ringo's all star band there in 2004ish) is many people are on comp tix, and they don't like it when you stand. Me...I enjoy live music so much more when standing!
