I had a fantastic time! Speaking to a few people afterwards, it seems we would all have loved to hear more post-Beatles questions. I also wish it had gone on for longer. But it was still amazing to be there and to see Paul in person again after a horrible couple of years. He was his usual funny, charming self and personally speaking, it gave me a huge lift.

I thought some of the audience questions that were selected were really interesting. I also enjoyed watching Paul's reactions during the song clips.

Visited Ireland for a few days in 2016 and stayed in Dublin which was great !! We stayed at the FitzWilliams hotel which was very nice and in the center of Dublin.  (next to St. Stephen's Green Shopping Center). We loved Trinity College and seeing the "Book Of Kells". One night we had dinner and drinks at the "Brazen Head" pub which said it was the oldest pub in Ireland. Took day trip from Dublin and went to see the "Cliffs Of Moher" which was incredible and parts of Western Ireland.  I would also like to mention how friendly the people were in Dublin, would love to go back.  My great grandmother was born in Ireland.

Glad you liked it so much! It's always lovely to hear about people enjoying themselves here.

Great! I know of quite a few Irish fans attending. It's going to be great to see him again after the madness of the last two years!

I got tickets, which is amazing considering I always miss out on events like this! Got really good balcony seats. I'm flying in from Dublin tomorrow morning. Very excited!

Yes, I received that email just after posting this. It was very straightforward and the waiting time for a response is currently up to 10 working days since they're so busy processing everything.

The "current and future commitments" excuse is not the real truth for me. Some people think the postponement was not possible because Paul has already another shows in the radar for 2021, but I'm not so sure about that. He seemed to be very concerned about the pandemic in the Howard Stern interview and in the Lady Madonna performance. I think he is not going on tour until we got a cure for the virus and MPL didn't want to told us the true reason. And we don't know when things are going to be normal, which makes difficult book new dates.

That's a good point. If that is the reason, I wouldn't blame Paul at all for not wanting to take any chances. Everyone's safety is the priority. I think we would all accept that as a good enough reason for a cancellation, though, so I don't know why they'd feel the need to make up an excuse.

I hope so. We've been waiting long enough for information! Fingers crossed for postponement rather than cancellation.

Still no email regarding the Nijmegen show, but I just heard today that the Dutch government has extended the concert ban to 1 September (my birthday, depressingly).

Totally agree. I responded to someone on another forum who said they thought Paul's comments were "surprisingly petty". They clearly hadn't heard the Stern interview so didn't understand that it was all light-hearted. And you're right, he was really pressing Paul for an answer, so of course he was going to agree that The Beatles were better! The tabloids are all going for sensationalist headlines like "Jagger SLAMS McCartney's comments" etc. Which is hardly surprising, since that's what tabloids always do, but they want to give the impression of some kind of feud when really there is none.

I got a similar email from Ryanair. My flight hasn't been cancelled yet, but I'm expecting it to be soon, and they've said I can change my flight to a date within the next three months (which is no use to me or anyone else I'm guessing, since they don't even expect to be running flights for the rest of the summer). The vouchers they're offering are good for 12 months, so I'm hoping that will cover a new date. If not, I'll be looking for a refund and then re-booking for the new date. They're trying to get out of giving refunds, but they're legally obliged to if your flight is cancelled.

Lucky you who have been able to see it by generation or for other reasons, I envy those who were there in the 70s or 60s a lot!  but for me it is good 2020 or 2021, the videos of the concerts are fantastic and I would love to hear the stories that many here say are boring already, I tell you that those boring stories I listen to or read here at home enchanted before, now, and  I will surely continue reading or listening to them in my lifetime.

Excuse me for talking a little bit like a McCartney and The Beatles fan, what happens is that in fact I am, I love his music, and the truth is that he is the daddy of all the music that anyone who dares to criticize him listens to, including  to Stones fans ... and this is a forum for McCartney fans after all, right?

I hope you'll fulfil your dream and see him in Barcelona when things eventually get better! It looks like the tour will be postponed rather than cancelled (that's the word Paul used in his interview with Howard Stern) and I'm sure we'll hear more when new dates are decided on. Don't give up hope! 

I like that idea. Have always loved this song, and I think it's particularly appropriate at a time like this.

I said before the performance that I would enjoy seeing Paul no matter what he played, and I did. I was surprised by the song choice but I quite liked the arrangement (which he's done before, as others have mentioned already in this thread).

I expected the comments about his voice, as it's always an issue that is raised whenever he does anything these days. It's not something that has ever shocked or bothered me. He spent many years pushing his vocal cords to the limit and of course that was bound to take its toll eventually, not to mention his age. But I'm honestly okay with it. I think for the most part, he makes it work. On a side note, I can't count the number of times non-McCartney fans have asked me why I would bother going to see him with his voice the way it is etc. I just know it's a privilege to be in his presence and that he puts on an amazing show, so why wouldn't I?

Anyway, I'm so glad he's safe and well and it was lovely to see him, plus his speech about his mother was really touching.

I agree that he'll probably do 'Let It Be'. I can't see him doing 'Hey Jude', that song relies heavily on audience participation.

Personally I don't mind whatever he decides to play. It will just be great to see him. Of course I'd love something a bit more obscure, but it makes sense for him to play something universal, that everybody knows.

I think if Paul felt physically unable to deliver two or three-hour shows, he would either stop or scale it back. But it has to be his decision, and I see no reason why he shouldn't continue if he feels able to. I know he's nearing his 80s, but music really does seem to energise him.

He clearly loves getting out there and performing for people, and as long as he's happy to do that, I'm happy to go and see him. Maybe it's because I'm one of the younger fans, but I cherish every chance I get to be in his presence and watch him perform, no matter what he plays or what his voice sounds like these days. And as far as I'm concerned, he still puts on the best show I've ever seen.

Did you hear this from Ticketmaster? I haven't received any email yet.

Three times so far: Dublin in 2009 and 2010, and London in 2018. I also have a ticket for Nijmegen, though the forthcoming tour looks to be in doubt. 

The first concert was magical and I thought it could never be topped. Until Ringo surprised us all in London by joining Paul on stage and I cried like a baby! An absolute dream come true.

I've pretty much accepted Nijmegen isn't going to happen now, and my flight from Dublin to Amsterdam will be cancelled anyway (at least that means I'll get a full refund). So disappointing, but definitely necessary. It just isn't safe anywhere right now.

Still, I can't see the tour being cancelled altogether. Most artists are postponing their shows rather than cancelling them. I'm sure Paul will want to reschedule, so maybe they might happen next summer when Glastonbury does go ahead? If it's the case that they're postponed, I'm definitely holding onto my ticket and will be ready to see him whenever it happens. I can easily rebook flights/accommodation when the time comes.
