The best advise I can offer, Luca, is to check the forums here (as well as the main site's news section) occasionally for any updates on official downloads.

RE: the Nilsson thread
Just realized that there was at least one alternate photo for this, the 'Daybreak' 45rpm single...
Not sure if this has ever been used for promoting 'Flash Harry,' but this is one of four similar shots I have in my archives...

RE: Paul, on your next tour, please come to ____________ .
tarff26:
could very well be happening in 2010
hopefully not at Hampden or Murrayfield though when was the last time he played up here, out of interest?
From what I can gather, Paul has not played in Scotland since 1990.

RE: Different Ways To Spell Google
James Rowat:
I came across a winner in a Google competition with a 15 year old girl saying how inspired she was by John. I think it's a very good logo. What do you think? Oh, and if you want to look at it more closely, go on google and click the logo. There's a list of winners there.
15 years old? That's so cool! Thanks for posting that one James.

RE: the Nilsson thread
That's so cool! You're playing Nilsson for your little guy there. Congratulations by the way! I mean, he's gotta love 'The Point,' eh? I'll never forget watching the original telecast in the early 1970's which featured Dustin Hoffman's narration, long before Ringo did it for the home video release. I did have the chance to let Harry know how much I loved his theme, 'Best Friend,' from the television show, The Courtship of Eddie's Father. We were talking about whether or not there existed a clip of him singing the song from some t.v. appearance and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one in existence. I'll counter the shot you've posted from the 'Only You' promo. I have some B&W's from that. Other stuff to follow when time permits.

Wendy2066:
While I'm at it, another time, some time ago, when they had Ann Murray interviewed, they showed a picture of her with John Lennon. He told her she had done the best cover of a Beatle's song he'd heard. (You won't see me).
It's nice to know that many Canadian musical artists have shown great respect for The Beatles over the years and in some cases, have created wonderful cover versions of their songs.

RE: the Nilsson thread
I wish I could tell you who the photographer of this fantastic photo is but unfortunately, I do not know off hand. One thing Harry had asked of me when he had learned that I was into photography, was to make some copies of his pictures. This is one of my favourites and it must have been a great moment to have been present. The photo was taken inside the offices of the Capitol Records tower, in Hollywood. It may have been 1973 when Harry joined Ringo on top of the tower in the promotional film for 'Only You.'

RE: the Nilsson thread
Well thanks for making this dedicated Nilsson thread kapoo. Glad you like the pic and biz card - I'll dig out some more images along the way. We did exchange phone calls a few times and somewhere I have a message from him to me on a cassette. The last time I saw Harry was '89 I think. To be honest, I don't know many details of that whole mess which turned up in the early 1990's. I learned bits about it after Harry's passing. I felt so bad for Una and their kids. Oh yeah, 'Telephone.' I may have seen it but to be honest, I don't remember it. Sorry Whoopie. Harry had some fun stories but I can't really share them. No no no, well, no.

RE: the Nilsson thread
Here's a photo I took of Harry playing drums with Liverpool, at a 1982 Beatlefest.
Here's his business card from the late 1980's.
He was a cool guy and from what I understand, Ringo was there to help him financially when Harry's accountant cleaned him out. I still have the "Coalition to End Handgun Violence" items Harry personally gave to me.

this one is one of his biggest oops. liverpool, mrs lennon and harrison watching, hometown crowd, singing one of johns classics and he forgets the words....ouch! the funny thing was that he got the lennon words spot on and couldnt remember the bit he wrote himself!
I remember fans griping about that one last year. At least he got John's part OK. He was probably working so hard to memorize it that he might've neglected his own segment of the song.
I find that whole thing quite ironic really, because back in the sixties Paul was often times helping John remember lyrics. One of my favourite examples of this is their summer of 1964 appearance on Shindig performing 'I'm A Loser.'
Are you referring to 01:47?
Yeah and there was an earlier example as well. 1:14 or thereabouts. Of course, there are moments where we don't see Paul - during the close-ups of John - and I'd be willing to bet, Paul's helping out then as well.

Love Wallace And Grommit! That graphic is not featured on Google here in Canada though. Today it's Big Bird, as it is the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street, the wonderful children's television show.
Check out the Google Logos page for others from the past as well as from various artistes. http://www.google.com/logos/

RE: ".Sunrise doesn't last all morning."BEATNUT
Was looking through my archives from the earliest days of the boards and found this... Thread title: "What if Paul was Rude to You?"
On May 15, 2002 BEATNUT:
What if Paul was rude to me????Well I'll tell ya!! I probably deserved it and I would apologize to Paul and beg his forgiveness!!!!Hahahahah...................BEATNUT
I noticed his sig from then which is quite fitting... "It's not how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others."

RE: ".Sunrise doesn't last all morning."BEATNUT

RE: How Does Your Garden Grow?
SurSteven:
That is a perfect example of a variety of hibiscus known as the rose of sharon. Tell your friend that she is an artist!
I will!
Thanks Steven. She does put a lot of effort into it and she really saved them from destruction by those awful beetles. What knocks me out is how those trees survive our winters. And the maturest of the 6 or 7 she has, is only about 4 years old now. They are truly quite resilient.

RE: How Does Your Garden Grow?
GYPSYGIRL:
SillyLoveSongs: They are beautiful! I'm looking forward to getting bulbs to plant for Spring.
I agree with you that they are beautiful GYPSYGIRL. They do need lots of sunlight for strong stems as I understand. My friend's were getting rained upon the other day and they wasted no time in drooping over.
Claudia611:
Those ARE beautiful, Mark!!!
I had one, one year and it was enourmous and absolutely stunning but oh, soooo
: fragile Shame they don't last very long.
Yeah Claudia, I believe they average to be about 8 inches in diameter. Actually, I want to set up a video camera and do a time-lapse thing. I love how they look the night before blooming. Quite rich in colour, shape and texture. Well, here's another one which I find cool. It's the 'Rose de Sharon.'
Click for larger pic. My friend likes The Beatles but she absolutely hates, the beetles! The Japanese Beetle variety. We have a Grub problem in our neck of the woods and they are currently wreaking havoc on these flowers in particular.
