RE: Elvis Costello Thread
Love the Spike album (Veronica, Tramp The Dirt Down and in particular God's Comic are all utterly superb tracks) and also Brutal Youth. Some brilliant singles from earlier in his career but prefer these late 80's and early 90's albums. Also, must mention the excellent album he penned for Wendy James (Transvision Vamp), Now Ain't The Time For Your Tears which i still listen to regularly today.

RE: Simple Minds
Quite a fan when I was younger although remember being disappointed when watching the Real Life tour in 1991 (Wembley Arena I think). Perhaps time to catch them live again - made some truly excellent records.

RE: Been away so long I hardly knew the place
Thank you. Wife is more of a U2, Simple Minds and Keane fan so take a little pride in convincing her to name the kids after Beatles songs. Even better in that, of her own choice my 13 year old, Lucy Sky, has recently purchased a Beatles and Lennon t-shirt!

RE: Your Greatest Drummer
Can't split John Bonham and Ringo - both great but very different styles.

RE: Female Singers
Sir Guy Grand:
Love Kate Bush ,Dusty Springfield , Lulu , Debbie Harry , Karen Carpenter , Kirsty MacColl , Alison Moyet , Tina Turner and Elkie Brooks .
Great list - mine would be very similar. Less for voice but more for the songs I would add Chrissie Hynde and the more surprising selection of Wendy James (Transvision Vamp) - loved their sound.

RE: Your Greatest Guitarist
Strongly considered George Harrison, Jimmy Page and Mark Knopfler but have plumped for Dave Gilmour. Guy is a genius.

Been away so long I hardly knew the place
Hi there, I'm a long time Macca fan but not been active on forums for over a decade! Now looking forward to some Macca discussions with fellow fans. Bit of a Beatlemaniac, I actually persuaded my wife to name our two beautiful daughters after Beatles records namely, "Lucy Sky" and "Eleanor Jude"!
