I always wondered where that Caribbean photo was originally from and what the date on it was.

RE: Paul trending on Facebook right now
Exactly and I am sure they are armed.
And March for Our Lives was about sensible gun control, such as closing the loopholes that allow minors to buy guns, not taking guns away from trained and license professionals like law enforcement or security professionals who use them in their work. Only crazy gun nut alt-righters have equated sensible gun control with "they're trying to get rid of all guns forever!" I like people with guns to be adults who've had training and licensure to handle deadly weapons, not kids who bought them without restrictions thanks to Republicans refusing to regulate gun shows.

RE: Brian Epstein bio will feature original Beatles songs
This article is somewhat misleading. This project secured the right to use cover songs (as many other shows and movies had done), not Beatles recordings (which is rare and would be news). Also this "movie" (which is now apparently a TV series?) has been promoting itself for years and years now and still lacks a script or director or to start pre-production. I doubt it will ever see the light of the day.

RE: If you could ask Paul just one question, that you've never seen an answer to, what would it be?
Paul addressed the name question in one of his website "You Gave Me The Answer" Q&A's. He said, "It’s a strange story! I was told that it was because if letters arrived at the house for James McCartney, you wouldn’t know whether it was my Dad - that was James McCartney - or me, James McCartney. So that worked until they called my brother - whose name was Peter Michael McCartney - Michael!? And there was no Peter in the house to confuse him with! So I’ve ended up thinking it was rather Irish! I’ve no idea! My mum was Irish – and I don’t know, maybe there’s just some old thing where they call you by your second name. Nobody ever called me James, it was always Paul!”

Nancy lost a nephew in the 9/11 attacks so I'm sure it was an emotional night for her.

RE: Where's Paul been lately?
Nancy R:
puppywhimpers:
That does not look like Nancy to me.
Nancy was on the other side. That woman is Nancy's sister Susan. It was a Shevell family dinner. Last weekend Paul also dropped his grandson (Mary's eldest) off at college in Connecticut. Arthur is attending Yale. Paul happily gave out hugs and handshakes to several students who approached him while he was helping settle Arthur into his dorm, per the lucky kids' social media.

RE: I met the former Mrs McCartney!
She cheated then physically assaulted the official who caught her. That violates the Olympic spirit and just general good sportsmanship, not to mention just basic human decency. She deserves nothing.

RE: Glen Campbell and Paul
Paul's cameo in the documentary about Glen lasts about 15 seconds. It shows Paul greeting Glen backstage at the Grammys and telling him, "I was rocking out to 'Rhinestone Cowboy'!" (which Glen played on the show.) Paul then said, "I just wanted to come back and tell you how much I love you!" It was sad because Glen clearly didn't remember who Paul was, though he was perfectly polite and warm.

RE: Paul's new album and promotion
Ringo's release date doesn't matter at all to Paul's. Ringo 2012 and KOTB were released a week apart. Ringo's albums are, in reality, no competition to anybody, much less Paul. In the past 20 years, Ringo's highest charting album was Vertical Man at #61 (US album charts). His last album barely entered the chart (#99). Not even Beatles fans buy Ringo's albums. In contrast, Paul's last three albums hit the top 5. The fourth oldest, Chaos and Creation, hit #6. Of Paul's last six original albums (so excluding Run Devil Run and KOTB) the only one that didn't make the top ten was Driving Rain (#26), which was Paul's worst charting album since Press to Play.

It was Debenham's department store in the UK (Christmas 2014), and they also used "We All Stand Together."

Soymilk? Should change your user name to Sourmilk.
If your only response to facts is name calling, maybe you should retire to the "swamps of Alabama" you note in your profile. We know from your post history you are not a Democrat.

Iowa Hawkeye Beatlefan:
Please provide any proof of Russian government hacking voting systems.
You can start with the Department of Homeland Security's finding that 21 states were targeted by Russian hackers, then continue with the state reports of voters abruptly stripped from the rolls. (You won't though, because as a Trump supporter you deny reality and truth.) That's just the tip of the iceberg, we won't know the full extent for years, especially as the Trump administration is deliberately trying to prevent investigation.
Iowa Hawkeye Beatlefan:
This investigation has been going on forever, and there are zero parameters into where they can look.
Trump has only been president for six months and we've already found out that Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner took meetings with Russians they deliberately didn't disclose and lied about; Paul Manafort, Trump's campaign manager, received large payments from the Russian government; Trump's national security advisor was forced to resign after having undisclosed meetings with the Russian ambassador promising the end of Russian sanctions; Trump's attorney general lied to Congress about having no contact with Russians when he actually met with them twice; The Trump Organization has received large amounts of money from Russian ogliarchs; a Trump campaign computer server had repeated contact with Russia during the election; British intelligence discovered that Russia has videotapes of Trump's sexual activities in Russia so damaging that our intelligence agencies agreed it subject Trump to blackmail; Trump met with Russians in the Oval Office with no records taken and American press present; Trump met with Putin with no American press present; Trump had an undisclosed meeting with Putin. All of that is aside from the fact that Trump has refused to ever criticize Vladimir Putin, quotes propaganda from Russia Today, makes sure his foreign policy aligns with Putin, publicly asked Russia to hack Hillary Clinton, refused to disclose his tax returns and financial information which his son admitted show large Russian investments, and that Trump publicly proclaims his complete trust in Vladimir Putin over our own intelligence agencies.

I'd rather Paul NOT do an anti-Trump, anti-Clinton, or anything that is an anti-America song.
Trump is anti-American.
ogoble:
We live in a democracy here and I hope he respects that.
An essential part of democracy is criticizing officials when they do wrong. As Trump has shown and behaved with nothing but disdain for American women, minorities, our military, our intelligence officials working on the frontlines, workers of all types, parents, children, past presidents, our elected officials, and on and on, then I can few of things more fundamentally American than speaking out against him, as he is currently the biggest threat to our great country.
ogoble:
Yes, Trump is a huge jerk, but he won the election.
He lost the popular vote by millions and only won the electoral college thanks to his collaboration with the Russian government in hacking the voting systems of several states.

JoeySmith:
My critique is that Paul is going for the "flavor of the month".
Kurstin produced Sia's "Chandelier," which is one of Paul's favorite tracks of the past few years. Paul has always chosen producers based on whether he likes their previous work or not. A "flavor of the month" producer would be someone like Mike Will Made It, Skrillex or the various EDM producers, since that's what hot right now. Paul further mentioned that he chose Kurstin because they worked together on the music for "High in the Clouds" prior to Kurstin's work with Adele, and worked well together.

RE: Miami, FL - American Airlines Arena - 7/7/17 - RESCHEDULED
thenightfish:
One thing also, the security was very tight and they were enforcing the bag size rule, even for people entering early for soundcheck. Everyone should look at their arena rules and if you see bag size restrictions, I would follow them. I never bring in a big bag myself, but I know some people do.
Just in general, I think people should expect stricter security at concerts due to what happened in Manchester. Tiny note: when Paul gave his dedication to Nancy during "My Valentine" and pointed her out in the audience, he gave a shout out to her dad Mike, who was there as well.

Mike McCready (of Pearl Jam) talks about recording with Paul and Lady Gaga for the High in the Clouds film:

RE: The Paul McCartney Picture Thread
Okay, but the photo session was Aug. 22, 1969, 6 days before she gave birth. Linda is in some of those photos and is clearly pregnant. https://www.beatlesbible.com/gallery/1969-photos/ Scroll down and click on the one of Paul & Linda and John & Yoko.
Sorry yes, my mistake. I was looking at both dates and flipped them in my mind! Mary was born six days after the the Tittenhurt session, not before.

RE: Remembering Linda
Journalists even asked some of the other people who were there at his house, like Lulu, but nobody remembered. Danny Fields, Linda's friend who wrote a bio on her (which The Linda McCartney Story was based on) claimed that Linda got a cab and left when everyone else did (or before) Even though Jane was out of town (acting) maybe Linda felt like "playing hard to get." Laughing She knew she'd for sure see him in 4 days. Danny said she actually went back to his house a day or so later, but Paul was in Liverpool. You have to read the book for what he said happened next (or send me a PM!)
Danny Fields quoted Lulu as saying both Paul and Linda seemed interested in each other that night, but Linda left about halfway through the gathering at Paul's house. They met again four days later at the Sgt. Pepper launch party at Brian Epstein's house and after that, didn't meet again for a year. Danny Fields said both Paul and Linda told him they didn't have sex for the first time until June 1968 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Howard Sounes in his book interviewed "Prince Stash" (the nickname for painter Balthus' son, Stanislaus de Rola) who said he was staying at Paul's house at the time in 1967. Stash said that weekend in May 1967, Linda called at Cavendish. He told her Paul was away in Liverpool but she nonetheless came over and Stash and Linda watched a movie together then had a one night stand. Stash said Paul didn't care because he barely knew Linda at that point, however he did kick Stash out of his house for letting Brian Jones come over and steal all of Paul's drugs.

RE: The Paul McCartney Picture Thread
Hmmmm...the baby in blue looks like Stella to me (lighter hair) Also, Paul looks like he did in 1971. Yeah, look at her face. That's not Mary.
It is definitely Mary. Not only is the baby's hair black in the color photos, but Paul's hair looks exactly the same - including length - as it does in the Beatles' last photo session at Tittenhurt Park, held eight days later. Also Linda - who took the photos and birthed the baby - labeled them "Cavendish Avenue 1969."

RE: Footage of Paul (possibly with his mother) age 12/13?
It could be, it could not be. Some newspaper asked Mike McCartney about it. He confirmed that they did used to travel on that tram line but couldn't say for certain whether it was Paul and Mary because it was so brief. He said it would be wonderful to have film of their mother, though.
