Different Yoko haha. Good god five minutes of parading people up on stage he could of done two more songs in that time frame.  Glad those folks got an experience of a lifetime though

I suspect that it's designed to give the band (and Paul) a chance to rest up a bit.

I always felt bad for the people seated directly behind someone holding up a sign all night. I can't imagine paying hundreds of dollars for a tcket, only to have my view blocked.

      YMMV

    • RE: THE 'FRESHEN UP' TOUR 2018

I was at the concert last night in Montreal.

The horns really aded something to the show.

I was always a fan of the later Beatles music.

Funny thing is - I was really moved hearing the early songs:

      From Me to You

      Love Me Do

      Wow. Just wow.

    • RE: THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL

      javilu:

On one hand I am happy I didn't part with my late 80s Cd singles but I am still upset about the download-only tracks on the set. I am pretty sure that disc 2 & 3 of the deluxe set would fit on a single CD and they could put the download tracks on the 3rd cd. That way they would not spend the extra 15 cents on another pressed disc!

Indeed, you are probably right. If all 18 demos were four minutes long, that would total 72 minutes. CDs can now easily fit 80-81. It's a really shame the b-sides aren't going to be on a CD. Especially at that price, and how great some of the b-sides are. Sadly, this is the kind of thing that just encourages piracy and illegal downloads. This is one of my all-time favourite McCartney albums. The Deluxe edition was a no-brainer for me until I learned the b-sides are download only. Now, I'll have to wait & see. Every Deluxe Edition so far has appeared in a couple of the used shops in my neighbourhood. That may be my best option. If the b-sides were on a disc, well, that would have been a day one purchase.

    • RE: removing leather from a steering wheel?

      femaleanimal:

. (I am still wondering if there is a way of dealing with this- there probably is, but I am sure it would be expensive!).

Sure there is. Being vocal. How's this for an idea: Time permitting, visit EVERY Smart Car dealer in your area. Express interest in the vehicle, then, make it clear why you won't purchase another car. Call the manufacturer. Post the numbers/contact info of the manufacturers. I would take the time to call them and complain as well. Anyone else up for it?

My guess is the most efficient option is to purchase custom replacement parts. Have a garage install & replace them. You then have two options: 1) IF you can afford it, package up the wheel & knob & send them to the manufacturer, explaining why you are returning them. or 2) You may also want to hold onto them come resale time. As an aside: a friend of mine also had a Cooper for a few years. They are incredibly FUN rides.

    • RE: WHY are you a veggie?

I dabbled in vegetarianism for over 15 years. My previous record was eighteen months. Then, for about nine months, I was an "at home" vegetarian; I would not have any meat at home, but I allowed myself meat in restaurants depending on where I ate & what the menu options were. Even when I was an omnivore, most of my favourite restaurants were vegetarian. Currently, I am borderline vegan: I have a weakness for Ben & Jerry's ice cream in the summer. I have tried the vegan dairy alternatives but they do not satisfy me as much. Besides that, I am otherwise vegan. I am also careful about what products I purchase & make sure they have not been tested on animals. Having said that, I usually describe myself as "vegetarian." It's easier than the lengthy explanation I just offered. I have been a vegetarian since May 2, 2008. That was the day my beloved dog, Arrow, was put down. he was 13 & 1/2 years old at the time. He had trouble walking, was partially blind and had cysts on his body. I held him in my arms as he was put down. It broke my heart. Watching him die, I made the connection. I never wanted to be responsible for another animal dying. I saw all animals as equal. The epiphany I had when Arrow died was that if I had to go out & kill what I ate, I could never do it. If I was incapable of taking the life of an animal, then I had no business eating one ever again. When I was an omnivore, I usually bought skinless, boneless chicken. When it's packaged and chopped up, it was easy to not think of it as an animal. So, I became a vegetarian to never be responsible for another animal dying. I also see it as a way of honouring Arrow's memory. Perhaps, it's also good "doggie karma." The way I see it, Arrow is more likely to make friends with cows, ducks, chickens, turkeys and other animals in "Pet Heaven" if they know his guardian doesn't eat their brothers & sisters anymore.

      pbduck:

I just noticed that Paul and Band are coming to Montreal this summer. As a resident of Ottawa (the Capital City) I am continualy baffled as to why he has never played here. Even the Duke and Duchess picked Ottawa as their 1st stop on their Canadian Tour. Please come to Ottawa Paul .. Scotiabank Place can hold a huge crowd .. Don

Indeed, it is strange. If it's any consolation, there are still tickets for both shows in Montreal, and it's only a 2-3 hour drive.

For me it's a tie between Off The Ground & Driving Rain

I don't get that one, either; perhaps they're the only Macca albums he's heard?

Nope. Heard them all. Those two are my least favourite. Those are the two I consider his worst. His best (in no particular order): Band On The Run McCartney McCartney II Flowers In The Dirt CHOBA B CCCP Wings Over America Press To Play I did like Off The Ground when it first came out. Now, it just sounds to me like FITD left-overs. Driving Rain does have some great performances, but whenever I'd play it, I found myself skipping a number of the tracks. I'm not saying there isn't anything of merit on those records; it's really just a matter of preferring a lot of his other albums.

    • (yet another) Hello from Canada.

Greetings one & all. I've been a Beatles/McCartney/Harrison/Lennon/Starkey/etc. fan for twenty-five years. The first album I heard of theirs was The BEATLES. The first solo album I heard was McCartney. The first Beatles album I purchased was Let It Be. The first solo album I purchased was All Things Must Pass. The last time I saw McCartney live was June, 1993 in Toronto. I was unable to catch McCartney over the last decade & a half because of work & being unable to travel to where he was performing. While he did perform in Montreal (where I live) last year, the timing didn't work out: I was at the peak of some financial hardships. Things have turned around since then, and as fate would have it, he's returning to Montreal on this tour! While I could not afford the ideal seats, I did manage to snag some tickets within my budget. I still find it hard to believe that I'm going to be hearing the man play again for the first time in almost twenty years! I don't think it's going to set in until I'm at the venue and he takes the stage. I only recently joined this forum (about a week ago). Looking forward to all the new friends I'm going to make, and some of the fans I may meet at the concert! Quick question: underneath our forum names, there is a lyrical quote. Who picks that out for us? Also, is there any way to request a lyric from a particular song?
