Ginger Baker at the Band on the Run sessions
I've just been reading the book of the Deluxe Band on the Run edition. Ginger Baker was at some of the sessions, yet only shook a bucket of gravel! I can't quite understand why seeing Paul had just lost a drummer, why he didn't ask Ginger to play.Paul did a good enough job,but it almost seems criminal to under use a talented drummer who was actually AT the sessions. Anybody Know more about this or care to speculate?

Also elvis didnt record hey jude for a release he was just messing around in the studio
It's Get Back that he messed about with, Hey Jude was recorded.
Oh dear - that makes it worse.I think Elvis' version of Hey Jude is awful. He sounds like he struggles to make the high notes.

RE: Worst McCartney album?
I would say thats a decent assessment TBH - although I quite like Pretty Little Head.I prefer the single mix with the "warmer" Macca vocals to the album mix that sounds like his mike wasn't switched on but his voice was picked up by the drum mikes.

Also don't understand the universal panning Press to Play gets. Stranglehold is a cracking song, as is Footprints and Only Love Remains.

RE: Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE
Been reading through the last few pages,re how good is Pauls voice now.I will readily concede that Paul can't sing as good as when he was 22.Thats a no brainer really - but I do believe he is still a great singer . Hampden was for me the best I've heard Paul for a good while.Lazy dynamite,I don't say this to contradict you - you are clearly a major fan,but I DID think the long and winding road sounded great - honestly. My wife was with me - she is a musician too, and uber critical, but she was WELL impressed.
