I'd just like to say I find the continuous remarks about Paul's hair tiresome! Why on earth should he let it go grey ?! The colour takes years off him , and he's quite right to do so. It's what most peoples perception of what Paul's image is. Why should he pander to folks who want to see him with grey or even white hair? Ludicrous ! I'm 30 years younger , and I colour my hair. Not because I don't want people to know I'm grey - but because I like it better coloured ! Maybe Paul does too :

RE: Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!
Re the horns - I think they are real.I think they are just really compressed. Right at the end of acappella bit , they sound very real. If they are not , the sample quality is amazing! I wonder if Paul plays all the "band" instruments , or if his band played on it. I remember Paul saying he couldn't really do a proper shuffle on the drums, and this sounds really accomplished - Abe perhaps?

RE: Paul's New Album-- "New"-- CONFIRMED
ehwalled:
Anyone see the tab on this yet? Guitar, bass or uke?
Off the top of my head the chords are something like.. verse; C , C/Bb, C/A , C/Ab , C/G , G G, G#dim , Am , Dm , C, G, C, G Mid 8 ; F, Dm , Am, G x2 I played it at an acoustic gig I did on Friday, but I don't have a guitar handy, so I'm just thinking of the chords in my head. There may be a few in the wrong order or just plain inacurate ! Hope their useful in some way...

RE: Paul's New Album-- "New"-- CONFIRMED
What a great track. Penny Lane meets the Beach Boys with shades of his early eighties work. So far, more people seem to like it than not. I'm curious to some peoples remarks about his voice It's like they haven't listened to any new material of his since 1993 ! Pretty much since Flaming Pie came out, Paul's voice has shown signs of ageing. I don't think he sounds hoarse at all . In some areas, his voice sounds older (news flash - he's 71 : ) , but at the same time - it still sounds pretty effortless to me - especially on the high falsetto. The whole track is in a pretty high key actually - testament to how he can actually still cut it pretty well. Apart from being 71,unlike many of his peers, he is still a busy singer/ musician who tours all the time. There's bound to wear and tear . This is McCartney 2013 - and it sounds great to me. Contrary to some posters , I think this type of track (nice retro pop) is long overdue. He's done a lot of varied more obscure stuff recently . Time to remind the public , that he can still write a good straightforward pop song. I hope it's a hit - it deserves to be, but as Miley has shown us - you need to be good at twerking to sell records nowadays.

RE: Woman - the McCartney song
Woman - the one he wrote for Peter and Gordon is an outstanding song.I wish Paul had kept it for himself. Would love to hear his version. How about on the new album ?

RE: Rockshow in Theatres
Sound wad amazing ! A lot of the film was really sharp , but I thought many shots especially towards the end were still a bit grainy. Some of the original shots were a bit out of focus , so I suppose there's only so much you can do... Amazing set , although I never quite understood him finishing with "soily". I found it to be the least enjoyable track , and a bizarre anti climax . I forgot what that song was originally on... Overall , thouroughly enjoyed , but missed part of Paul's newly recorded introduction Anybody care to tell me what he talked about before he talked about jimmy McCullough, and Joe English ? ( what a shift that drummer did btw ! )

RE: Is he ignoring the UK
Couldn't agree more taxman . I'm Scottish / British , and can completely understand why Paul would be in no rush to play here again. I'm sad to say that (in general) - both Paul and Ringo are treated better in the states. Compare the 121212 concert to the jubilee and Olympics .... Also I saw Ringo in Clearwater , Florida in 2010 - it was like Beatlmania ! .....

RE: Norman to write Paul bio?
This is surprising when everyone knows what Paul thought of "shout". In fact , I'm sure Paul changed the spelling of the title ...

but, can you guys shed any light on the stuff he did with Ringo a little while ago ?
This is news to me. When did these sessions take place?
I'm sure somebody mentioned it on another thread about his new album on this forum. I'm beggining to think I've imagined it now Paul , Ringo and Geoff Emerick rings a bell ...

RE: London Town/Back to the Egg: What if...?
I like both albums, but much prefer Back To The Egg. The playing on that album is superb - great lineup too. I wouldn't combine the two, it would be like combining Please Please Me and Abbey Road.

RE: Paul 's new album
Thats a shame, sounded promising! None of it true? Does anyone know any more about the songs Paul recorded with Ringo fairly recently, and if they will be on the new album ? I certainly hope so . I'd like an entire album with just songs by Paul and Ringo , and only the two of them playing on it...maybe a wee tour too

RE: who has MET Paul?!!!
Ringo is 5" 8 , and Paul is clearly taller than him. There's no way he has shrunk 3 inches. My dad is 75 and has lost an inch at most...

RE: Your latest Paul purchases
I've just completed my macca collection on vinyl . The last three required were :- run devil run,( on amazon ), working classical ( from a Japanese seller on eBay ) and off the ground ( from a Spanish eBay seller . Particularly happy with working classical - got it for 40 quid , when a previous one that I had bid on ended up going for £227 !

RE: What Beatles Item did you last buy?
Just got the vinyl remasters box set . Outstanding ! Is it just me , or is "Let It Be " mastered louder than the LPs that precede it ? It's a bit like " let it be naked " actually ... I am on my 3rd glass of red mind you ...
