Yeah , loup is unfathomable when there was so much better stuff to chose from .
I really like the medley tracks though .

“The Mess” is a fantastic track . So well written , similar to band on the run with the “ more than one song in the song “ structure .
Amazing that it didn’t make the album , and even more so that the studio recording has never seen the light of day . When you listen to how well rehearsed the live performance is , it’s hard to believe the studio cut isn’t tight as well .
One omission I made in my last post was “ loup ( 1st Indian on the moon ) love so much of RRS , but this is filler in the extreme . BJ , when you mention songs like “the mess “ which is fantastic , how does that get omitted in favour of “ the loup” ?!
i don't agree that the autotune has been used to cover anything up. had that been the case it could have been far more subtly done. For me it's as clear as day that it's meant to be for an effect.
I think it was Nancy who mentioned his rock / ballad voice differences . In response to that , I'd say that when paul is doing Helter Skelter , he can still absolutley nail it time after time because it's a full on growl and his voice still has the power to go high in this style . With ballads there is more subtlety required , and his voice is not as reliable every time to hit higher notes with a softer more delicate voice . This happened in Glasgow during Maybe I'm Amazed , He had a bit of a wobble on the more delicate bits, but when he went for it full on he sounded great.
I don't believe he has completley dropped Yesterday or Long and winding road. Probably just rotation. I'd say maybe I'm amazed is far more demanding - and it's still there. He didn't do I Saw Her Standing there in Glasgow, but he did it in Liverpool.
One more thing about Paul / Abe's voice combo. Abe was clearly singing backing vocals in Glasgow of course, but it was Paul's voice you could hear clearly above anybody else in the band - it was clear as day. He had no problems doing Blackbird, and his vocal on Band on the run (a murderous song to sing ! ) was really magnificent that night.
As Paul is my favourite artist , I pretty much like everything he turns his hand to . I off course like something’s better than others .
Wild life sounds fresher than before with its facelift , but it still sounds to me like a continuation of the “McCartney “ album just with and added band .
I think red rose speedway is as underrated as band on the run is overrated . The beatlesque pop sensibity of songs like single pigeon and one more kiss , I find far more listenable than say let me roll it or 1985 for example .
Ah this is an old article , I’ve read it . I wonder when was the last time he was there ...
Everybody keeps mentioning auto tune . Like it or loathe it , I think it’s clearly used for an effect - not to keep Paul in tune ...
ill need to listen again , only heard it once
Fantastic gig . No mull , but really great set list . Paul in fine voice . He seemed to be really enjoying himself . At just under 3 hours , he didn’t even seem tired at the end . My son Joel ( aged 10 ) thinks Paul “ must be immortal “

Spotted in Glasgow yesterday on my way home from work.
Nice !
He should come onstage to movement 1 from his oceans kingdom album ! That would be a cool buildup - nice and dramatic !

Thought the whole band were amazing last night. The 3 lads on the horn section brought alot to the show.Thought the set list was nicely balanced between Beatles/Wings/solo.Set/lights/Pyrotecnics was amazing. Not one ounce of trouble.Only my 4th time of seeing Paul but this has to be the best.Wonderful Christmastime was my highlight(with the snow falling)Mike McCartney was sitting behind me(didnt want to bother him for a pic)All in all, perfect night 10/10
Wow !

special shoutout to the young girl in the blue t shirt sat behind me in the lower tier block 1 row k ...at the gig on her own and she didn't stop dancing from the moment macca came on stage! She had the time of her life !
Set list looks great ! Medleying queenie eye and lady Madonna etc ... a guy on Facebook says he was there last night , and the 2015 Liverpool gig . He said his voice sounded much better last night !

Magic
Guys , I did say Hampden was practically a sell out . I was there , and I saw one tiny pocket of seats ( around 100 tops ) that were empty . That means there was easily 50 000 there . The hydro holds 12 thousand? I think it’s safe to say he could have sold it out at least twice . ( I never heard the £5 ticket story either )
his new album sold well in Scotland . I’d also argue there’s a higher demand for a Paul McCartney ticket in Scotland in 2018 than there even was in 2010 ...

Paul has chosen not to play Mull Of Kintyre on his only Scots show in 2018.
His decision emerged after Kintyre Schools Pipe Band asked if they might join him on stage to perform the hit.

I hope they're wrong. Maybe not them, but the Loretto pipe band will be playing with Paul again
You know they will be for sure ? Hope so !
It's just wishful thinking

Tickets arrived ! Can not wait I wondered if he would come back to Glasgow tbh . So thankful he has !
A little surprised he isn’t doing 2 nights , he’d have sold them both out easily .
Ive listened to a couple of YouTube bits from concerts he’s done in Europe in the last week or so , and he’s sounding really good
3rd time I’ve seen him in Glasgow , along with one in Liverpool and London .
never thought I’d get my 10 year old boy Joel to see him . He’s Beatles / Paul daft , and for us this is a dream come true
It'll be a memory Joel will always remember. I've never forgotten the memories of every show I've been to. Especially when my mum took me down to London to see him when I was 12. My parents thought that I would only see him once
Lovely post mate - I certainly thought Hampden 2010 would have been it !

This is the first Glasgow show since 1979 that has sold out - that's why he's not doing 2 nights because he couldn't guarantee that night #2 would sell out.
The Secc In 90 was a sellout . Hampden In 2010 was practically a sell out too . Given Hampden holds over 50 000 and the hydro sold out in minutes , I think a second show would not have been a gamble !

Would anyone care to speculate how limited the super deluxe edition releases will be ? I really fancy them both , but along with the white album , theres no way I can afford buying them all within the space of a month !
I'm worried that they won't be available by the time I have the money to buy them all
