Whoever came up with that 'shit phrase' should have been fired.
Yeah, no kidding. Maybe if they took some Exlax, they'd flow out with some ideas.

Hi Mike, No problem. I don't feel picked on at all. To be completely honest, I am very shocked and disappointed that any of Paul's fans would defend Geoff's actions. All insider info aside, running to the tabloids was the wrong thing to do. I know I definitely wouldn't want any friend that would do that to me. In Dom's post he says "that's if he was to blame for the lies/exaggerations... To me, the word if is very important in that statement. To me it seems that he is saying if Geoff was to blame for the innacuracies/exaggerations/lies in the releases then maybe he would be better off working at the Sun. I guess we have just gotten different things from the same statement. That happens, especially online when it's hard to determine the nuance of what is written. Regarding Dom's posts my opinion is this-they probably would not have happened if Sam had not started the 'debate'. Asking someone who the hell they think they are just because they offered their opinion is impolite imho and puts people on the defensive. Anyone wanting to balance the thread could have posted a list of the positive things Geoff did during his 15-year tenure. All I have seen so far is a story about him being drunk at the Cavern and a couple about him being polite to a few fans. All I can say to you is that the only person's vantage point I care about is Paul's. I read his statement and that is what I believe. I hope this whole thing goes away very quickly and that Heather does not become a target for any more tabloid trashing. She is just beginning to get good press and I really want it to continue. Anna, sometimes the idea of if you have nothing nice to say... is a good idea. I did not say that in my post though. I sometimes wonder why certain people have got nothing better to do than trash other board members and start arguments when none are necessary All the best, ~Tashi
Mike, Sorry for the typo in my previous post. It was Sam that launched the attack. Go back and read the second page of the thread. Dom did what others would have done-he defended himself. I don't remember anyone here claiming to know the 'real' story. I only remember people expressing opinions. Just because we are not 'insiders' doesn't mean we cannot comment on the situation. Baker should not have mentioned Heather in his statement at all. Simply say the split was amicable and he was pursuing other projects. The public didn't need to know anything more. Paul was put in the situation of having to defend his wife and also explain his decision. That was really unfair to him. I agree that this type of thing is very personal and private, that is why I was angered by Geoff's decision to drag his boss's wife into it. Running to the tabloids after quitting/being sacked was unprofessional plain and simple. There is no defense for that. ~Tashi

I think all Sam was trying to say is that there is more to the story then meets the eye (and yeah Sam knows Baker and Macca more than anyone of this board) -- we probably don't know the extent of the story. A press release or statement is just intended to give enough to the press so the story will go away -- we all doubt that Macca has any interest at pouring his heart out every bit of it to the media -- usually sackings are pretty private affairs. In terms of people have personal opinions one way or another about Baker that's fair game but saying that anyone of us is on the real story seems off base. Cheers! Mike
Mike, you must not have read the unwarranted attack launched against by Sam in the Broadcast forum. That was a hell of a way to say 'there's more to the story than meets the eye'. No, none of us knows the absolute truth, but I believe Paul's own words and trust them above anyone elses.
Hello and Good morning Sam, I just wanted to let you know that Paul has released an official statement regarding the situation with Geoff. The BBC has posted it on their website. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/3658620.stm As you will see, Paul was not happy with Geoff in recent months and this is what has lead to the parting of the ways. Paul is also not happy about the way Geof dropped Heather's name into things. I am posting this here on behalf of us 'non sensible' fans who felt that Geoff was not the best person to represent Paul. It seems Paul has come to the realization himself. ~Tashi
Hi Giri, I am doing fine, thank you. I should be in bed because I have work tomorrow! How are you doing?
Just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. I hope that everone had a good weekend.
Hi Sam, I promised that I would stop by and say hi so here I am
ops: I hope all is well with everyone and that you are enjoying the weekend.
I have been quite busy so I have not had time to participate on this thread in quite a while. Mike, I read your post and agree with most of it. I must say though, that the case Paulfan is referring to is very different. This was not an article trashing Paul, like the Mike Seely one, but it was a submission to a Q&A column. The answer given to the question asked was basically the columnist's opinion of Paul being presented as fact. The person who wrote in now has an answer to his question that is not only completely inaccurate but will probably also leave him with a very negative view of Paul. If you go into the Broadcast section, there is a thread which will provide you with the details. ~Tashi
Hi Sam, Thank you. I have been quite busy lately. A friend is visiting from France and I have been taking him around NYC and showing him the sights. I have also been busy standing up for Paul on this board in a couple of threads I won't mention...
I will try to visit this thread more. It is a refuge from the madness
Love and Hugs, ~Tashi

Hello and good afternoon Sam, HAPPY SCOUSE DAY!! After hearing all the wonderful things about Alf, I am sorry that I was not able to meet him. btw, did you hear that our Paul ('our kid' as Mike would say
) was spotted getting off of a bus in NYC yesterday? I thought that was cool. he could have been in a limo or something, but instead he was slumming it with the rest of us straphangers.
Love and hugs, Tashi PS. This is a cute site: http://www.scouser.com/core.html
Hello and good afternoon Sam, That was really wonderful of Paul and Olivia. I am not surprised though-they are both great people. Good to hear that everything went well and Alf received a fitting send-off. Love and hugs, ~Tashi
