Singer Tori Amos shared that "John Lennon sat on the edge of my bed and sang one of my songs to me."
Didn't she know that was a dream? Tori says it was an actual "visitation." Maybe it was?

RE: Your favourite songs on MCCARTNEY III
Why did you write this album McCartney 3 was a "big slap to your face" upon first listening, Little Willow? Cause you then went on to say you enjoy and admire various songs. And the album in general.
The record generally. My faves so far are Women & Wives, Pretty Boys, Deep Deep Feeling, Kiss of Venus and When Winter Comes. Deep Deep Feeling exerts almost a hypnotic effect on me. It boasts some interesting and beautiful musical touches which are unexpected, and surprising treats and treasures. -
RE: McCartney 3?
My blurb on my initial very favorable reaction to "Women and Wives," "Deep Deep Feeling," and "Pretty Boys" vanished, and I think I know why--I mentioned a surprising visual in the animated cartoon (for lack of a better word) on the "Lavratory Lil" music video, but I'm not the one who drew that there. Still, I probably shouldnt have pointed it out. I haven't listened to the album enough yet for it to jell and Form a really definite impression yet. Oh yeah I really loved "Kiss of Venus" too, on first listening, too. That about the golden planets and other parts are so poetic. "When Winter
Comes" is really lovely as well. "Slidin'" and "On My Way" and "Deep Feeling" havent really moved me much yet, but I suspect those are "growers" and I'll be cra zy over them, given more intense prolonged ear time.I saw a youtube vid of Macca on Jimmy Fallen, and Fallen is really digging McCartney 3. Jimmy F. mentioned he comes in here and delves through Paul's website, he gave it a shout out ! That was cool. He's a real music lover.Oops, the title to this thread was supposed to be "My Personal Macca 3." I dont know why but it insisted I create a new thread instead of adding to the McCartney 3 thread, but I guess a Mod will rectify that.

RE: McCartney 3?
Wow...Just heard most of these new songs for the very first time; really felt "Women and Wives" and "Pretty Boys" and "Deep Deep Down" and "Kiss of Venus" I think it was, right off the bat feeling them. "Pretty Boys" he hasnt turned gay, has he ? (Just kidding) I usually think of female models before male models. I guess Stella designs men's clothing too and he was inspired seeing the fashion shows. I like his deep strong voice on this one. Yes he was a pretty boy ! Now a handsome man, still desired. "Women and Wives" he sings that with so much sincerity and emotion. It's about warm family bonds. "Lavatory Lil" is funny, a hard rocking change of pace, kind of bluesy rock. Comic relief ! But bittersweet. She must have given him a run for his money (literally) and got too wild for him, out of control to the point of showing blood on knives, yikes! Paul's artwork all through these videos adds so much even more visual originality with much different subjects than he showed on "Egypt Station" art. Less exotic and less anthropological subjects. I fancied "Deep Deep Down's" length--it draws you in, gets you into it almost hypnotically--oh yes "deep pain," "deep pains" I can relate to that, physical and mental and emotional pains, but why would he want the pain to stay, not go away? Must have referred to the "pain of love" and being love sick (?) Just some first impressions. Oh yeah the album cover opens to reveal bursts of refreshing vivid color ! In pictures. Striking contrast to the stark simplicity and darker colors of the grey color. I saw his daughter Mary open it in a public "stories" on facebook. The cutest little portable record player spinning in the bottom right corner, and a good looking gif of Paul on the left side. Mary demonstrated the different art of the album

RE: McCartney x Rubin – A Documentary in 2021
Seeing a pic of Paul with Rick Rubin, at first I thought Rick was "Youth" (who did Electric Arguments with Paul) in a long beard, LOL. He looked like Youth to me.
Rick's documentaries, I hear, are fantastic.

RE: McCartney 3?
It drops tonight at 11:45 p.m. ! I've loved every snippet of each song I've heard so far ! I heard a guy perform the entire "Lavatory Lil" on YouTube and it's a rousing rambunctious rocker, I laughed at the phrase "roll in the hay," LOL (Paul !!).
That multi-colored dice or die, well there ya go; wish it were on the cd proper, duckie. It really pops.
Many thanks for the "Kiss of Venus" lyrics, oobu--on first reading, I just skimmed, but they're lovely, quite evocative. Seemed poetic. I love them and will peruse at length and in depth.
Somebody from Oz has the entire album "Macca 3" at the Take It Away facebook group, it's on Spotify. Already got it there in Australia somehow. Gonna jump on that thang ! Hot dawg

RE: Letter to Paul (from Paul Weller)
I liked some "Blur" songs and Blur didn't come across like sour pusses, but Macca still so much more sparkling and personable and charming and wearing the purple robe and crown to me.
