RE: Seeing Multiple Concerts of Tour
Everyone's situation is different. Even though there's probably a devil somewhere with Paul's soul in his pocket he is 71 and every time I see him may be the last time. I go as much as I can and I sit up front because I can afford it. I've been to the 12/12/12 concert, Live Aid, and a host of others. When I look back on the great times I've had seeing Paul I never think about the money. Some people say to me "If I get in free I'd go but I'd wouldn't pay that much." Fine, then sit in your house and don't do anything.

RE: PETITION: PUT HOPE OF DELIVERANCE BACK IN
I'm mystified by this. To me it's a nothing song, especially for Paul. I'm glad he didn't play it last night. In fact, last night had the fewest clinkers of anytime I've seen him, ever.

that's what I figured, i actually saw Bloomberg. the brooklyn bourough president was there too. Stella was there; she tweeted a pic from backstage before the show. Supposedly Barbara Walters was there (Nancy's cousin as we all know) but didn't see her; someone I know thought she saw her; guess we should watch the View tomorrow to see if she mentions it. Tommy Hilfiger was there. Cameron Diaz was sitting at the end of one of my friend's rows.
Bloomberg walked pass me twice and my friend was laughing because he's so short. In fact, my friend wanted me to take a picture standing next to Paul Simon because he's a foot shorter than me. But I didn't go for that one. Paul Simon was very low key throughout the whole show but was very gracious to everyone that came up to him. Whether people wanted to shake hands or take a picture, he obliged. He didn't even stand until Hey Jude and was probably the only one not singing along. I told Lorne Michaels to get him to sing but he just laughed.

Fantastic show. But of course, we all knew it would be. I was sitting next to the "other" Paul. Next to him is a client of my old firm, Lorne Michaels.

Who just walked in causing a stir down below???
It was Clinton. Which also is the reason there was heavy security on the floor. He was 10 rows back in the center.
Did you actually see Clinton? I was sitting in the first rows of the second section and I saw all the security coming in with the Mayor and that created quite a stir. The bourough president was there too. Didn't see Clinton.
It wasn't Clinton. It was Bloomberg.

Wait, where is this about, and where it the original post? McCartney was in Vienna last night.
they are talking about the Brooklyn, NY concerts which are happening this weekend. Looks like Paul zipped into Vienna, yes, but he has to be back in NYC by Saturday.
Why was he in Vienna for a day? He sure has a large footprint!
Opening of an exhibit of Linda's photos there.
Funny, I'm having an exhibit of Linda's photos tomorrow. And as long as he's in Brooklyn anyway, he can drop by.

RE: What would you name Paul's next tour ?
MarkinSouthJersey:
Paul over New Jersey
Otherwise known as the anti-pollution tour? I've gone to lots of concerts and I have absolutely no clue what any of the tours were called. Nor do I care. I know what the special shows that I've been to were called because they were one of a kind like Live Aid, Simon & Garfunkel in Central Park, Last Play at Shea, first show at Citifield, etc. Or I might know a tour by what they played like the Who's Tommy tour. Concerts fall into three categories. Concerts I've been to, concerts I haven't been to, and concerts I didn't want to go to.

RE: Sir Paul McCartney and Friends April 4th, 2009
I think the charity itself is dubious at best, but it was an incredible show. Most people including me listened politely to Lynch and the others but we were all really there to see Paul & Ringo. I'm still waiting for a DVD. I know they filmed it because I had to duck the boom camera all night.

RE: Empowering People to LIft Themselves Out of Poverty
Poverty will not end until people stop having children that they can't afford. You can give every penny that you have and it won't make a bit of difference.

RE: Does Paul care about his fans getting tix to concerts?
gmeyle:
I live in the US. I've been Paul's fan my whole life (A VERY LONG TIME). So, i've been chasing tickets to his concerts this year, and have not been able to get any. They are sold out before they go on sale. I CANNOT afford $3000 tickets. So, finally a concert in Tulsa. Today, sold out before i could even get online at 10am. Where did they all go? They didn't really go to "fans". They went to ticket auction sites, who resell $60 tickets for $250 (in the nose bleed sections). It's basically scalping, but legal. I am SOOOOO upset. Why do artists allow this to happen? Do they forget the fans made them what they are and should put their foot down and demand actual fans to get their tickets? I seriously doubt the fans who made the Beatles and Paul so famous were millionaires. Thanks, Paul for making a fan feel so insignificant and unworthy. I guess now you are just too good for your average, middle class fans. Anyone else having this problem? Ican't be the only one.
I think that Paul cares if his fans get seats in general but not specifically. If you went up to him and said that you couldn't get seats he'd say that's too bad but I don't think he'd pull first row seats out of his pocket and give them to you. He really can't stop scalpers from selling seats. Only the government can and they are bribed by Tickmaster, etc. not to. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford the best seats but I'd like them to be cheaper too, like everyone else. Between Radio City and Citifield I spent between $3,000 - $4,000 on McCartney tickets last year. And that was mostly box office prices, not even scalpers. I bought a few seats for friends who are financially challenged. Was it worth it? Sure it was.
