I have seen Paul McCartney 12 times since 2002 and I have been to 9 bonnaroos since 2002. So one would think I was a very happy person when McCartney from my all-time favorite band was added to my all-time favorite festival. Alas my beautiful wife Danielle said that we were to retiree bonnaroo after the 2011 festival. Instead of bonnaroo last year we went to the New Orleans Jazz Festival which was fantastic not only because of JazzFest is a great festival but it is one of the greatest cities in the world for having a great time. This year we had hoped to go to Europe in June/July alas our vacation schedules did not sync up so we were looking at what else to do. I suggested that we go to the Gathering of the Vibes Festival and then Danielle said we might as well go to bonnaroo! So once more, possibly for the last time I will be going to bonnaroo for the 10th time so see McCartney for the 13th in 2013! I am a lucky man to have such an amazing woman by my side, especially one by my side that will bare the 100 degree heat of Manchester, Tennessee in June!

RE: Bonnaroo Festival, Manchester TN, 14th June 2013 - ARCHIVE
I can't believe it, I've been to 9 of the first 11 bonnaroos (I missed 2006 and 2012) & I will not be able to make it to bonnaroo 2013 as my wife and I are hoping to go to Europe June and July this year. If anyone has any questions at all about bonnaroo do not hesitate to ask me and I hope I will be some help any of you good people have a great bonnaroo experience.

That was one of the most historically amazing concerts I have ever been privileged to witness live! It's 4:20 am so I need to go to bed now. I hope to write more on 12.12.12 when I get an opportunity! I'll say this, that was an amazing set by Paul McCartney! Helping to reunite Nirvana by doing a new song he wrote with them, brilliant! Bringing out Diana Krall who wasn't on the bill, fantastic! Closing the concert with his band backing Alicia Keys on the fitting "Empire State of Mind" wow! And playing a set where I believe only one song was a high charting single ("Live and Let Die") threw me for a loop, in a good way!

My wife and I arrived at our friends place in the Bronx after midnight. We got a good nights sleep in their murphy bed and now we're getting ready to head down to MSG for one of the most historic concerts I have been blessed to see. The Paul with Dave Grohl and Krit Novoselic rumours are something that I would have never guessed! I just thought that Paul would bring out Grohl again with Bruce Springsteen and instead of Joe Walsh they bring out Eric Clapton for "the End." Either way, I just hope that Paul still plays "Twist and Shout" or something else with Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. That Paul plays "I Wanna Be Your Man" or something else with the Rolling Stones. That Eric Clapton plays "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Something" or "All Things Must Pass" with Paul.

Led Zep, Neil Young, Dylan and Ringo please...
That would easily make this the greatest gig all-time! While you're at it why don't you ask for David Gilmour and Nick Mason? And Simon & Garfunkel? And Van Morrison? And Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers? And Prince? And Stevie Wonder? I had fun saying "And" there.

I am surprised Sting is not on the show.
I'm okay that Sting is staying home.
You're safe I just checked and Sting is playing in Bangkok on 12-12-12
This event just keeps getting better and better.
What's wrong with Sting?
Boring as bat crap. File him under Phil Collins.
What's wrong with Phil Collins?

I think it's a nice coincidence that 12.12.12 will be the 12th time I see Paul McCartney live.

Who will play with Paul McCartney and/or who will McCartney play with at 12.12.12? And what will they play? Here are some songs that artists on the 12.12.12 bill have played with McCartney or have covered songs in McCartney's catalogue: Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora "Let it Be" and "Freedom" from Concert for New York City. Bon Jovi has covered the Beatles "With a Little Help From My Friends." Eric Clapton "All Things Must Pass," "Freedom," "Let it Be," "My Valentine," "Something" and/or "While My Guitar Gently Weep" from Concert for New York City, Concert for George and Live Kisses. Roger Daltrey "Let it Be" and "Freedom" from Concert for New York City. Dave Grohl "Back in the U.S.S.R.," "Band on the Run," "the End" and "I Saw Her Standing There" from Liverpool Sound and the Grammy Awards. Billy Joel "I Saw Her Standing There," "Let it Be" and "Freedom" from Concert for New York City and Good Evening New York City. "Back in the U.S.S.R." and "Birthday" are Beatles songs that Joel covers. The Rolling Stones "I Wanna Be Your Man" the Rolling Stones have covered this Beatles song at recent 50 and Beyond concerts. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band "the End" and "Twist and Shout" from the Grammy Awards and Hyde Park. Zak Starkey "Birthday" at Ringo Starr's 70th Birthday Concert at Radio City Music Hall. Pete Townshend "Freedom" at Concert for New York City. Eddie Vedder "Cosmically Conscious," "I Saw You Standing There" from Change Begins Within at Radio City Music Hall. "I've Got a Feeling," "You Got to Hide Your Love Away" are Beatles songs that Vedder covers. I'm sure I'm missing some, though if they do just a handful of these songs together I'll be going home from 12.12.12 happy.

21st Century Paul:
TimmyB:
BIG NEWS from the producers of 12-12-12: legendary rockers The Rolling Stones have been added to the line up! Also announced are appearances by Adam Sandler, Billy Crystal, Brian Williams, Chelsea Clinton, Chris Rock, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jeremy Piven, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Stewart, Sean Combs and more. Not just the Rolling Stones, but look at all the comedians and television and film actors that will be there! I can't wait for this concert! Now I hope that Paul McCartney performs with Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones!
I guess they'll introduce the musicians and entertain while the stage gets prepared for each. (Paul could tell The Fence Maker joke, lol) Anyway only 5 hours seems too short for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaallll that. I've got the feeling that when I log here on Thursday this thread will have one hundred pages or more... BTW! "THE DELAY/ECHO in the beginning of "Hey Jude" was because they (IOC) wanted Paul to lip sync/play over a backing track, but McCartney decided against it and played it completely live.I dubbed someone else's high quality television recording of the performance with a high quality recording of "Hey Jude" from the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics together, with this as the result."
I agree, the comedians will mainly be used to introduce the musicians and tell a few jokes. Also with Billy Joel, Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl, Alicia Keys and Chris Martin could perform solo acoustic on piano or guitars in between the larger band sets.

RE: What Concerts are you going to this year?
It took me several hours but I finally got my complete list of the gigs and artists that I saw in 2009. Some on the list are not musicians, they were either on the bill as emcees or presenters or stand up comedians or whatever they were on the bill. I count a different venue as a different gig, even if it was on the same calender day. I also count ever different day at festivals like bonnaroo and Rothbury as a different day of gigs. Based on the above I saw 81 gigs and 266 artists in 2009. Peace, Tim 2009 Concerts: 1. Casino Rama SAT JAN 3 Orillia, ON 1-Temptations 2-The Four Tops 2. RE: David Lynch Foundation Concert
My flight has been cancelled twice out of Buffalo. I'm flying with jetBlue and they said it was due to weather conditions in NYC. I now have a flight tomorrow at 8AM, I pray that does not get cancelled. Peace and Love, Tim PS I posted on here earlier that I thought it might be Mike Love that was going to be one of the special guests. I'm glad it is. Last time I was in NYC I saw Brian Wilson at the Hammerstein Ballroom in July of 2008. So this will be back to back members of the Beach Boys for me in NYC gigs.

I wonder who the other special guests will be for this benefit? My guess is Mike Love for one. Any thoughts? Peace, Tim
I hope not I love the Wilson`s and Al but always found Mike to be a jerk.Remember his ramble at the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. Not exactly a poster boy for TM.
I hope not either to be honest, I am also not a fan of Mike Love. I only mentioned Love as he was there with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Donovan and Paul Horn in India all those years ago. At the end of the day it does not matter who else will be guesting, we are all going to be seeing McCartney and Starr perform together on Saturday night! Peace and Love, Tim PS I finally got my ticket in the mail today!

RE: David Lynch Foundation Concert
MinnesotaMacca:
As far as special guests, Sheryl Crow's site also lists Jerry Seinfeld (probably one of the presenters)....I think this whole show is going to be historic! Less than two weeks now! Also, does anyone know if they are recording this show for future release? Steve
I hope it will be recorded for future release on CD and DVD/Blu-Ray, though I have not heard such information. I makes sense to rrelease this show as then the David Lynch Foundation will be able to make more money for this charity. Peace, Tim

RE: David Lynch Foundation Concert
I have seen Jerry Seinfeld perform live though I have never seen Howard Stern so that should be interesting. I hope some other great musical guests get added to the bill someone like Eric Clapton to add some of his amazing solos to the music of Paul McCartney. Though in the end as long as McCartney and Ringo Starr are on the stage together at some point in the night I will be happy. Peace and Love, Tim

RE: David Lynch Foundation Concert
I wonder who the other special guests will be for this benefit? My guess is Mike Love for one. Any thoughts? Peace, Tim
