Huh, at 3:07 you can see what looks like the original Hofner bass that I thought was stolen or lost during the Get Back sessions. Did he get it back at some point?

I was just watching the Find My Way video and at 3:07 you can see what looks like the original Hofner bass that I thought was stolen or lost during the Get Back sessions. Did he get it back at some point?

    • RE: AUSTIN CITY LIMITS FESTIVAL-WEEKEND OF 10-5: CONFIRMED

Found the whole concert on YouTube:

He really does sound in good voice. I do think he needs to give Come On to Me a bit more energy vocally, though. The instrumentation is fairly pulled back and relies on the vocal to drive it and the delivery's just a bit too laid-back, I think. It's like how he delivers the verses of Let Me Roll It which works for that song but not this.

Tonights show was just a re-broadcast.  HOW CAN WE DOWNLOAD THAT WONDERFUL SHOW???????

Yeah, I'd love to watch it. If it's on next week, I might try to catch it then and record it. I'd love some recordings of the new songs with him in a bit better voice than the Grand Central Station concert.

    • RE: EGYPT STATION

I'm inserting this addendum at the top because the curious tone I'd intended for the message sounds more negative than I meant it to and I can't think how to rephrase it:

How hard is it to actually achieve a #1 album these days? Obviously if I did it wouldn't even chart so I don't mean anyone can do it but with singles, I know streams from YouTube, Spotify and whatever else get counted (as percentages of a sale, though, I think) but I don't know how you'd factor that in for an album release. I don't know how popular albums are to create these days but I seem to remember they started declining in the last decade but they're picking up again. But, certainly a lot of younger listeners aren't buying albums. All the ones I know stream from Spotify and that's it.

Pair that with the fact that Paul's audience is probably, at its heart, still of the generation that does buy albums, I'm not greatly surprised it charted. #1 is excellent, though and I bet he's pretty chuffed. NEW only got to #3 which is still pretty fantastic. Kudos to all involved.

Ah, yes. I remember a lot of speculation about that at the time. I quite liked the video, actually. The only thing I didn't think it needed was the subtitled dialogue throughout. It was pretty stilted and you could have easily done the asking to Paul McCartney visually with her showing him tickets or something. That said, I didn't mind the dialogue at the end after the concert, just the stuff throughout.

      thanks

worked for me on windows 10 laptop using their app.

That's the laptop I used too. Win 10 with their app. But I couldn't see it full screen. But I know someone that DL the entire show & put it on dvd so I'll watch it there.

I've been trying to work out how to do that. All my efforts failed.

I'd love for him to do one of the bonus songs "Nothing For Free". But I doubt he'd ever do it.

I could really see that working with the younger crowd. On bonus songs, I always wished he'd done Turned Out live. That would have been great with the band. And I have to agree I Can Bet would have been similarly good with this band.

Not true. I am not a Premium user and was able to watch full screen.

On a mobile app or the desktop app?

There may be other reasons for not going to China. Didn't Elton John get banned there after a show a few years back?

I was going to make a comment about a definite glitch given how far away it is before I realised we were already halfway through September. Man, in the time since I saw Paul, I could have conceived and given birth to a child (hypothetically, if I weren't male). How does time go that quickly? It's just nuts!

In all seriousness, though, he tends not to play over the Christmas period and he's already got 2019 dates starting again in May. Plus, when I see him again, I really don't want to see him in Summer. Not just for the heat but I found it a bit disappointing starting the show in bright sunshine. You don't get the thrill of all the lights going out and then suddenly, there he is! I remember him doing And I Love Her and singing 'Bright are the stars that shine. Dark is the sky.' I looked up and it was just getting dark.

That's what I assumed was the problem but it says the videos are available in Australia. I'm going to try downloading the app and seeing what happens there. Failing that, hopefully it'll turn up somewhere else. I don't really have much of a use for Spotify on the whole. The way I listen to music, it just wouldn't be any use to me. That and I've been a bit turned off it when I found out the revenue return per stream to the artist.

I would honestly be very surprised if he turned up here again. I mean, I'd love to see him again but I'm not holding my breath.

That said, I've not heard of that mural at Melbourne Central. Anyone got any pictures? I don't have any plans to go into the city for a while so it'll probably be gone by the time I do.

Those were the two things I was wondering: Do I have to be a premium member? or Do I have to download the programme?

Hm, I'm afraid I don't have that option. I did follow the link from the email and the link you gave takes me to the exact same place. Here's a screenshot of what I've got. I've got a sneaky suspicion your window looks somewhat different:

I'm not really a user of Spotify but I can't seem to find the videos. I can see the 17-track playlist but no videos. Am I being incredibly dense (it has been known)?

Yep, it's just going around and around. I hope after 24hrs they'll just let the whole recording stay up at least for a little bit.
