I got an email in the first week of September saying that they were sending them out on the 15th and that everyone should have them by the 15th of October.

I really think Jimmy Barnes would give his all and in many ways would rock out in the way Bruce Springsteen does.
Yes, you're right! I could see him coming out in Sydney. The problem is, the really really successful Aussie artists all live in LA or whatever now.
He seems to be doing a bit of this. I was trying to think of who he would ask in the highly unlikely event he were to do it here in Australia. I can't really think of anyone who would be up there at his level. Now, I would be immensely jealous if Neil Finn pops up in Auckland.
So, they apparently started sending out tickets on Thursday so we should see some arrivals this week. Also, according to new info on the ticket page, gates open at 5:00.
I may not be American but I don't think it is. If you're going to rule out doing things like concerts on that basis, you're not going to have any days left.

I would assume more touring as it looks like we will see the new studio album in 2018 as well. I'm sure if he tours, there will be Beatles songs in the set.....sadly!! I'd like to see one tour all solo and wings material. Stop being apologetic for a great solo catalog!! He seems to be the only one not convinced that his solo catalog is great!
Is this studio album the one we've been hearing about or a new one? Because this current one's been delayed so long, I wouldn't be surprised.

Join Paul (aka, one of music's most iconic artists ever) on stage during sound check and sing "Get Back" with him
That's pretty interesting. He never does Get Back during soundcheck. It says this will happen on Sept. 21, the 2nd of the two Brooklyn shows.
Hey, that's my birthday! Ah, well.

Supposedly this is an audio recording of George singing "Something" at Eric and Pattie's wedding reception, 1979... Really feel for George here... must not have been easy to sing this song at his ex-wife's wedding, considering the words involved....
Yeah, I don't think this clip is from that day at all...
Gotta agree there. It sounds more like karaoke. It's definitely a backing track of the album version too. It sounds a bit like George but he's so out of tune I'm not sure. Could be pretty drunk, I suppose?

I read where Bruce Springsteen is planning a series of shows in a 1,000-seat theater on Broadway. Ticket prices, I think, from $75 up. Who'd like to see Paul do something similar?
Well, he had his Pappy & Harriet's thing. I'm secretly hoping (very hopelessly) that when he comes to Melbourne, he'll do a secret show at The Corner. It's just down the road from AAMI Park. Easy.

Any ideas about 2018?
Absolutely wayyyyyy too early for that conversation
Never too early to start saving, though, for good tickets, hotel and transportation costs for next year
I was saving for 6 years and it finally paid off!

Today, he couldn't do the screaming version a la Abbey Road
I don't know... I reckon he'd be able to manage a pretty good version of it. The bits he struggles with these days is not actually the rocky bits because you can disguise vocal shakiness behind the guttural quality. Take Maybe I'm Amazed, the chorus isn't where he struggles, it's the verses (specifically the first verse - that's murder to start a song with). He's not done I've Got a Feeling for a while but it's in the same vein with the 'All these years...' bit. Also, and I've been thinking this for a little bit but not sure if I'm just tricking myself into believing it, but is he sounding better this year than in the last couple? Especially last year. I remember watching Maybe I'm Amazed in Desert Trip videos and thinking it was pretty rough but in the latest American videos, he's actually okay. Not 2003 levels but more like 2013. I thought that maybe the illness that caused him to postpone the second Japan tour took a while to completely recover from, probably not helped by the constant concerts.
Hmm, tricky question. I'm seeing Paul for the first time in December so I'm nowhere near tired of the setlist. Here are my picks: 1. The Back Seat of My Car (apparently they've tried it and Paul isn't keen) 2. Get on the Right Thing 3. Turned Out Being a Paul virgin, I also don't know the ins and outs of the set this time but I can guess the majority of it. However, I have heard of one or two that I'd be glad to skip in favour of others: 1. Temporary Secretary 2. Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite 3. FourFive Seconds (man, I hope that's gone by December)

The first time I heard A Day In The Life Give Peace a chance was at Anfield in 2008, I loved it, does anyone know if he played it before that concert?
Nope, debut, a shock surprise debut, one of the handful in the last 10 years. Someone now will post he did do 'Give Peace A Chance' before.
Well, he did do it as part of the John Lennon medley at that Liverpool concert in the 90s. Sorry, you did say it was going to happen.
Hi all. I'm just putting the feelers out at the minute but I found out last night that a friend of mine didn't manage to get a ticket for Paul in Melbourne. She doesn't know I'm asking and I don't know what her budget is but I know she won't be able to justify the $400 tickets. If anyone ends up with a spare at some point, I'd be grateful if you could let me know as I'd hate for her to miss out.
That's a wacky photo. Two Pauls for the price of one!
It's nice to see. I remember a photo last year where he had it after an interview and we all commented how nice it looked and then a week later, they'd mysteriously disappeared. Maybe he heard we all liked it?
I've just noticed. Is he finally starting to let a touch of grey seep in?

Managed to get tickets for my family and a nosebleed for myself for the 6th. Wa-hey!
Nice one! I couldn't get the nosebleeds for the second night. Managed further back on the floor.
That's still pretty good. Hopefully not too expensive. I only just got the tickets for my cousins on the Tuesday. It wouldn't give me anything so I just kept refreshing the page and I managed to get two up in the corner section. Pretty lucky. I'm glad they're selling well. It's nice to see all this love for him after so long.
