Fantastic news of the tour!!!! Any other rumored US dates?
I'm thinking -
St. Louis, MO (last played 2012 on the On The Run tour)
Houston, TX (last played 2012 on the On The Run tour)
San Antonio, TX (last played 1993 on the New World tour)
Birmingham, Alabama (never before played)
Knoxville, TN (never before played)
Cincinnati, OH (last played 2011, On The Run tour)
Cleveland, OH (last played 2002, Back in the U.S. tour)
Rochester, NY (never before played)
Manchester, NH (never before played)
Please don't tell me that Paul played in San Antonio on Out There. That was a 1000 seat venue that nobody had access to.
kapster:Bobbyb98:I looked at the schedule and noticed that the Yankees will be away from July 1 to July 14, so I could see Paul potentially playing at Yankee Stadium during that two-week slot.
Please no stadium shows! The sightlines are horrible. I'm really hoping for MSG.
Thank you! I hope he doesn't play Minute Maid Park like last time he was in Houston. You can't enjoy a concert there, even Sir Paul. Cynthia Woods or Toyota Center would be a much better fit. I do hope he does Texas shows though. It's been 3 years since Austin, 4 since Houston, and 23 since a proper show in San Antonio. I know there was Lubbock and Dallas, but those are both very far from any other major cities. Another show in Jacksonville or Kansas City would be great though
I still think that a headline at ACL Fest in October is very likely, given that he has been hitting up festivals lately, and it's kind of a sister festival to Lollapalooza, since they are both put on by C3 Presents. Also, I think San Antonio, TX is the most likely Texas stop besides ACL, since he hasn't been there since '93 (besides that tiny show in 2014).
I took a look at places he's played recently and stuff, and came up with a possible list of shows -
San Antonio, TX
San Luis Obispo, CA
Uncasville, CT (since Nancy's from there)
Kansas City, MO
Austin, TX (ACL Fest)
Los Angeles, CA
West Valley City, UT
Thoughts? Any truth to any of these?
webvan:"However Absurd" would be cool indeed and he can get some help for the bridge but I don't think he wants to be reminded of that album too much...
"Come On People" would be nice too, probably better actually in a live setting.
C'mob People will never happen, but that would be fantastic
pierceedge:I figure it is probably revisiting markets from the Up and Coming to Out There tours and playing arenas where he played stadiums and playing Stadiums where he played arenas. He's doing arenas (and an amphitheater) in Seattle, Vancouver, and Milwaukee, where he did stadiums between 2012 and 2013, and he's playing Busch where he did an arena in 2012.
I hope that's true. I'd hate for him to play the godawful Minute Maid Park again in Houston. I still think that he's going to announce an Austin date for later this year. Before the SUmmefest announcement, I figured that he was going to headline ACL Fest in October. I guess they'll resort to Pearl Jam again. I hope Texas dates are on the way!
Any setlist rumours yet? I'm thinking that Sing The Changes and My Love might show up...
I'd lose it if he played Bluebird. One of my all time favorite McCartney tunes.
never would've guessed that! A welcomed addition!
A Hard Day's Night
Can't Buy Me Love
off the charts setlist so far. Can't wait for the little acoustic song portion that usually follows the piano songs in a min. TS, Letting Go, AHDN.... Wow! I'm glad Save Us is still there. It's a great live song. I do Mrs. Vanderbilt makes a return tonight though.
