Cool Pink Floyd song!

Post

It will never happen. It's not a put down. It just won't. The closest was Wings Over the World and even that had a few Beatles songs which were unmistakably Paul's.

The first 3 would be RRS, BotR, and V&M.
The second 3 would be Flowers in the Dirt, Off The Ground, and Flaming Pie.Finally I would say Chaos and Creation..., Memory Almost Full, and his next studio album. Why? Because The Fireman is not technically a McCartney release, and because based on the last two, I think his next record will be amazing!

Gas, Petrol, Fuel, no matter how you name it... it's creeping back up there. Around $4.00US. a gallon for Premium in So Cal. Pretty soon we won't be able to afford to go anywhere unless THE PEOPLE REVOLT again against BIG OIL and refuse to buy at the higher prices... Will it happen? Well, it's up to all of US, not BP and the Multi-National Corporations who want to control the lives of the SMALL PEOPLE while sucking our Dollars to help them pay for POISONING the PLANET we live on!

There was a two-part series in Look Magazine in 1968 about The Beatles in India. With pics and a well-written essay. It was before any of the cynicism came out later, and they genuinely believed in the Maharishi. The first of the two issues had them on the cover too, if I recall. They are very rare and collectible now. This may have been the basis for the book Susy is talking about.

There is also a book by a Krishna devotee named Joshua M. Greene who was a friend of George for many years, from the time the Krishna's were invited to Apple in 1969 until George passed away. It is called Here Comes The Sun: The Spiritual and Musical Journey of George Harrison.

The whole popularity of Yoga and Meditation in Western society today can be directly attributed to The Beatles and especially to George. But it should be remembered that it was his wife Patti who first became interested in Indian Spiritualism and introduced George to it, at the same time that he discovered the Sitar and Ravi Shankar. Great stuff!

(Eat Pray Love is an awesome film!)

Sri Joni:Before the Beatle's, Yogananda came to the west and founded the Self-Realization Foundation in Los Angeles. In India, there are many religions that follow Hindi, but all believe in Krishna, who was there finest yogi/Avatar who wrote the "Bhagavad Gita". Yogananda's teachings guide us to find inner light, peace and divine bliss. These are the teachings of his guru Sri Yukteswar, Krishna, both these men believed in Christ Yeshua and exist in his 33rd plane of light.

The power of Krishna or dharma is divine light when meditated each moment upon our innermost heart. Divine light is created when meditated each morning and evening. It is important to be within the divine presence often before experiencing the Christ light or Christ consciousness of the Krishna meditation. Chant: OM, Krishna, OM.

Peace and divine love,

Lovely and well said. Yogananda, and his guru Sri Yukteswar, and his guru Lahiri Mahasaya are the three gurus George Harrison chose to be on the cover of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Autobiography of a Yogi is one of the world's great works of literature.

Michelley:

venus rockshow:Why re master memory almost full and good evening new york city

Because both of those albums were originally released by Hear Music and now all of Paul's solo catalog is owned by Concord. I doubt they'll do much but reissue both under the Concord label.

Hear Music and Concord are really the same thing. Hear Music is the Label which was formed by Concord Music and Starbucks. Concord is also a label under Concord Music Group and they own other labels too. McCartney made a deal in 2010 with Concord to Distribute his Archive Releases(thus ending almost fifty years association with EMI). But they do not own his catalog. He still owns the catalog of all his post-Beatles releases under his own company MPL Communications.

Darth_McCartney:Maybe with the GENYC remaster we'll get songs from the Up and Coming tour that weren't on the tour on the album....eg Venus and Mars/Rockshow/Jet

Josh

GENYC was from the Summer Live '09 Tour of 2009 which started in Halifax in July and ended 9 dates later in August at Cowboys Stadium in Texas. There was also the 8 date Good Evening Europe Tour in 2009.

The Up and Coming Tour was 35 total shows in 2010, including Hollywood Bowl, Isle of Wight Festival and Hard Rock Calling. It deserves its own DVD/CD release. Extras on that could include the Gershwin Prize Performance at the White House and Ringo's 70th Birthday Concert at Radio City Music Hall, as well as the Sirius XM Radio Special Live at the Apollo Theater. 2010 may well go down as the biggest year he's ever had as a solo artist!

SusyLuvsPaul:Fascinating stuff !! Is this the thread where "double" cd song listings for "Flowers in the Dirt" are given, stating that "Flowers" was originally meant to be a 2 cd release? Fascinated to discover that, as there was so much variety, so many songs on "Flowers" anyway.

I think they mean Off The Ground. There was enough material recorded for that album for a two disc set, and there are some two-disc versions. Very rare to find now. Flowers could have been a double too, mainly because there were the leftover tracks from the discarded Return to Pepperland project between Press to Play and Flowers. Most of those have still never seen official release. The Paul McCartney Anthology awaits!

Enjoy! That theater is part of the experience and you won't be disappointed. It would be great if Cirque could find a way to take the show on the road, but it would really be missing the sound which is so important to the show. It's like you are in the studio with The Beatles.
