martinput:I'm fully in admiration for the design of their current stage - The Claw" and appreciate many thousands more fans have been able to watch their show as a result of the "in the round" staging - myself included.
But it was nice to have the return of the intimacy of a conventional stage - the band seemed more intimate and together as a result of that - no need to spread themselves thinly round the Claw Stage for everyone to get a bit of them.
It was a very special show for a very special festival, one for the archives indeed.
It's being talked about already as one of the greatest U2 performances ever!
WOW! It's McCartney week in New York!
I bought the Up and Coming Tour Program at the Hollywood Bowl concert last year. I have all his programs from 1993, 2002, 2005 and 2010. Every one is different. The 1993 New World Tour program was handed out free. I think the Up and Coming program was $25.00. A lot of artists no longer sell programs at concerts, and they are getting pretty expensive nowadays. A nice souvenir though.
Darth_McCartney:gnome:In the program is an announcement of the new PaulMcCartney.com coming in the fall...and it looks like you may have to have a paying subscription. It's not completely clear from the ad, but it does mention exclusive content, etc.
A subscription?! Seriously, MORE money from us?! It's getng ridiculous.
It will probably be like U2.com where you can register either as a free member for a few exclusives and access to the community, or you can opt to pay a subscription and have access to downloads of exclusive videos and streaming audio, as well as first choice seating at concerts. That part is $50.00 a year. I joined as a free member.
This whole phone hacking scandal is just awful, and just when you think it couldn't get worse it turns out Murdoch has his tentacles in the British Government and Scotland Yard, and today the man who blew the whistle on News Of The World turned up a suicide. I hope Murdoch and his Fox Companies get totally ruined by this!
Murdoch is to testify in Parliament tomorrow. He should go to prison!
5th-beatle:I would love to have a program from the new tour, but I live in Brazil.
If someone is willing to buy one for me, I will pay for it and for postage as well. Please send me a PM.
If you don't find one here, try eBay.
Gas was 40 to 50 cents a gallon less in Las Vegas, Nevada than anywhere in California! Thanks California government! And they're looking for ways to stabilize the economy...just legalize gambling everywhere and tax it! Marijuana too!
Yet recently in the past few months I seem to remember news reports saying with some assurance that the recession was over, or nearly. It just seems to be continuing to spiral out of control, and no one has any idea of how to fix it.
