Since this is the first show on the proper "Egypt Station/Freshen Up" Tour, here's what I'm hoping to see:

*I Don't Know - during one of the piano sets...I love the song and would like to see how well he can do it live.  Maybe his vocal could even surpass the studio version

*Come On To Me - as someone else said, this is a "given" in the set.  Relatively speaking (we're in 2018!)  it has done quite well on the Adult Contemporary Chart...up to #6.

*Happy With You - during one of the acoustic sets...Another one I love and it sounds like a song that could have been on Paul's first Solo album "McCartney".  Vocally, Paul does it real well on the album in my opinion.

*Who Cares - this is a must and probably my favorite song on ES.  It rocks and Paul and Band have plenty of room to do a slightly longer version live.

*People Want Peace - I love the album version and I think it would go down really well "live".  A song that  Paul could   get the crowd singing a la "Give Peace a Chance"

*Dominoes - Another one of my top favorites on ES and again, one that is just begging for a live performance from Paul and his band

*Do It Now - Another new "piano" song that Paul can add to the "Freshen Up" tour.  Like "People Want Peace" Paul can get the crowd singing with him.

That's 7 songs and notice I didn't include "Fuh You" which I'm pretty sure he will do so that would be a total of 8 songs.

Hopefully he will do at least 8 ES songs!

While I like your optimism, and I enjoy most of the songs you mention, I dont think people will be singng "People Want Peace" like they would Give Peace a Chance.   Sadly, I think more people will have blank stares, orwilll be headed to the bathroom.  I always fnd it funny that "fans" of performers like Paul and his contemporaries will pay $150-$2,000 for a ticket, but wont invest $12 on a CD to hear their new music.

well they should tell their friends to stop spreading rumors. I'm sorry but someone very close to them said it was staged.... and there are videos of them talking with the camera crew before the show. Anyway, none of my business - good for them

Arent those 2 young ladies members of this board?  Perhaps they can shed some light on this.  I see them at every single show always in the first 10 rows if not closer.  Are they affiliated with the band in anyway? I would think Pauls crew would have to know them by now, as they are always together, and jumping around at the shows.  Also, the lady in the pic with the glasses was brought onstage by him once before, and he signed her back.  Pretty sure it was her.

Yes, the black woman with the glasses is Alvita. She was a boardie here and yes, was brought onstage once before and he signed her upper back, which she had tattooed. Not affiliated with the band, just uber fans.

Thanks for clarifying.

Dear lord... that’s terrible.

Embarrassing effort to "freshen up."  Ive got tix for 2 shows and thats gonna do it for me.

His voice sounds decent on Let em In.  Like the horns

I mentioned this in the rehearsal thread, but there was little time to rehearse 10-12 new songs.  Macca showed up what, a week to ten days to rehearse?  He's obviously NOT singing evreday either during those rehearsals, I woukd imagine.  Gotta save the voice a bit.  Thats a relativley short time for a major overhaul to a setlist.  The Stones generaly spend 3 or so weeks reharsing(longer during their world tours), do a club show or 2 to warm up and hit the road.

BTW, what was the soundcheck setlist?

I’m gonna say that setlist is legit with that being from a reporter in Quebec.

lots of a disappointment there.

LOTS.

This place sure needs a like button.

This is beyond sad. He has the #1 album in the US and that is all he plays from it. I have given up years ago for him to play other solo songs that he has ignored for years but really thought he would do at least 5-6 from Egypt Station.

Agreed, instead we get In Spite Of All the Danger and 4-5 Seconds crammed down our throats. Awful

He should play those songs at the actual show

From an interview will Billboard from Sept 19th. 2018:

You're in the middle of tour dates, and you're playing some songs from the new album on tour. I think you're playing, like, three or so? Will they change each night?

PAUL:  We're doing three at the moment, 'cause you know why? 'Cause we didn't have that long to rehearse, and we're putting other things in the show. So it's a question of learning 'em. 'Cause you know, you write the thing, and then you go and record it. And when you record it, obviously it's a certain arrangement, so now you've got to reproduce it faithfully, you've got to learn that arrangement all over again. So we've learned three. We've got another one that we've nearly got. So they're gradually coming onboard. And then we may be able to change them up in that case.

I think he forgot he performed Confidante in July lol

Good catch - lol.

For him to say they didnt have much time to rehearse is a horrible excuse.  Schedule the dates in a time frame where you CAN rehearse.  Don't make people buy the album, spends tons on tix, then rehash the same set with only 3 new songs.  Awful.

I don't undestand why this is so touchy for them.  There is no REAL bickering in the film, other than George and Paul talking about a guitar part.  They would have you believe they were at each others throats, and cussing each other out.  I never got that impression..  At times they look a little tired on screen.  No biggie. Plus its been FIFTY years.  There have been countlessbooks, articles, films interviews, etc on their history. Why are they so worried?!?

Release the damn film, and add some bonus clips.  That would be a huge seller.
